4 Chapter 3: New Enemies

Taking into account the natural magic resistance of Campione and the physical resistance provided by [Man of Steel], Shirou's defense would require an attack of A++ rank or greater to even injure him.

But to defeat the sword that can kill a world? Easily to boot? That was on an even higher level, possibly more dangerous than the other three authorities combined.

"Now that the authorities are out of the way, we can move on to the dangers of this world."

Rin reacted first, "Let me guess, the equivalent of the Clocktower?"

"Actually, no. Mages in this world are much different than magus of our world. Namely, they try to avoid annoying any extremely powerful being at any cost. The standard response for dealing with a Campione is to give them what they want and pray that nothing goes wrong."

"You're kidding," Illya responded with a look of disbelief on her face.

"I'm not. All attempts at resistance by mages, ordinary men, and even armies has always ended with the Campione left only mildly inconvenienced, often without a scratch, and the resistors in suffering, if not wiped out to the last man, woman, or child. No what I'm referring to are the ones whose actions, intentional or not, would lead to me becoming the King of the End."

"Who?" was the question uttered by all those present except Saber.

"One group of beings and three individuals. The group consists of any being who can interfere with the authorities from Gilgamesh. Without the effects of the [Fellowship of the King], I would transform into the King of the End. No Campione currently have an authority that can do that so we currently don't have to worry about them. But almost all Christianity-based Heretic Gods have an authority that at least partially suppress powers of 'pagan gods', in particular the ones that predate Christ. Several other gods can also suppress different types of divinity, so if possible, never let anyone learn that Gilgamesh is a heretic god that you defeated. As for the individuals, I've already mentioned one. Mordred currently rests on an island off the coast of Japan. Pandora couldn't tell me which one but if an authority from the King of the End is used nearby, it will awaken him. The other two work as a pair. One is a Divine Ancestor. Divine Ancestors are Mother Earth goddesses that have lost their power and fallen due to being defeated by a Deity of Steel. In the legends of heroes killing serpents or dragons to save a maiden, the maidens are the Divine Ancestors created when their true forms as Mother Earth goddesses, in the forms of a snake or dragon, are defeated. They are still stronger than any normal mortal and Rin, Sakura, and Illya will likely be roughly their equivalent in power."

"I'm starting to get a headache," Sakura complained, her eyes spinning in circles as she tried to process that many white knight stories were as far from the truth as they could get.

"Like I mentioned, convoluted. The Divine Ancestor we have to worry about is the one known as the Queen of Divine Ancestors, Guinevere. She was never my wife but is the current holder of an artifact known as the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is used to empower and bring forth the King of the End. She is guarded by the last individual, Heretic God Lancelot. Using a spell unique to her, Guinevere can call forth Lancelot at any time to defend her. Please be aware that the Lancelot of this world only uses a lance. This and several other details lead me to believe that Lancelot is not the god's true identity. Like Mordred, it is a new name added to an existing god. As for what Lancelot's true identity is, your guess is as good as mine. Just know that they will sense any use of the authorities from the King of the End and come running and if either become aware of my existence, they will find a way to either turn me into the King of the End or extract him from me. I won't be likely to survive either event."
