22 Chapter 21: Test Success

Both Shizuka and Ichirou Kusanagi were amazed by the fight.

Godou didn't know how to describe the fight.

Erica and Liliana were terrified by the fight. With good reason.

When most clashes between heretic gods and Campione occur, the outcome can only truly be declared after the fight is over due to the fact that reversals are always possible.

This fight was not like that. From the start to the end, it was clear that the winner was going to be Shirou. There was never anything that would indicate Voban could reverse the situation. It was like watching a chess grandmaster move to create checkmate. That's even not taking into account the sword that scared even Voban. Godou and Voban had been terrified by the blade and if Pandora truly named Shirou the strongest Campione due to him having that blade, then there was clearly more to the blade than met the eye.

Not to mention the world created by Shirou itself. Excellent as Cuore di Leone and Il Maestro are, most of the weapons contained in that world outclass them completely. The two swords that were supposed to be the strongest magic swords in the world were actually placed in the high hundreds, if not located somewhere in the thousands.

Then there were the two magic items he used last in the fight. The first was a weirdly shaped prismatic dagger. When Shirou stabbed Voban, Voban lost consciousness and had a piece of divinity eject from his body. The second was the golden chains that bound said divinity in place. Neither of the Italian mages could place what either item could be.

Shirou gestured and caused the chains to form a sphere around the divinity before he dispelled the world he had created.

"Alright, now to confirm if this worked," Shirou spoke, his gaze never deviating from the ball of golden chains, "you know what to do."

Saber nodded and walked over. After placing her hands on Shirou and Voban, the three disappeared as if they were never there.

"Alright, let's get dinner. Without Shirou, we aren't restricted on what we can go to," Rin's voice rang out as she turned and began to walk away.

"Wait! Where are they taking Marquis Voban?" Liliana's voice clearly displayed her lack of calm.

"Why would you be limited when Shirou is with you?" Ichirou Kusanagi asked.

Sakura was the one who answered, "to answer in reverse, Shirou is banned from several restaurants due to stealing their recipes. Voban is being taken to Pandora to confirm if the solution for Madame Aisha works. Assuming the main headquarters of the Bronze-Black Cross hasn't changed recently, you'll likely be able to find him on your doorstep shortly."

"Solution?" Erica questioned.

"How much do all of you know about the third Campione?" asked Illya.

"""Not much,""" responded Godou and the two Italian mages.

""Nothing besides her name,"" was the response given by the rest of the Kusanagi family that was present.

After shaking her head in disappointment, Rider spoke, "we can explain to you over dinner, so follow us."

Netherworld

"So, did it work? I didn't feel comfortable going into a fight without some assurance that the plan would work, especially given that we'd only have one chance before she stays away from me for good." Shirou questioned Pandora, who was examining the piece of divinity wrapped up by Enkidu and Voban.

Pandora studied both for several seconds more before responding, "there is no longer any trace of this authority in Voban and this fragment will not be drawn back to him without my interference. The authority in question is the "Singing Spellbook" taken from Baphomet."

Shirou grinned in response to Pandora's answer, "then this is a complete success. The breaking off of the chosen authority to be sealed by Rhongomyniad can be done. Nyx's authorities protect me from Live or Die, and she doesn't have the ability to escape if we come into contact. Please inform us as soon as you sense her returning to this time."

Pandora nodded, "before you go, take this. Consider it the spoils of war," she pushed the fragment of Baphomet to Shirou and he absorbed the authority without resistance.

"Saber, please drop Voban off at the headquarters of the Bronze-Black Cross and then we can head home."

Saber nodded grabbing Voban and disappearing before reappearing a second later without him. She then grabbed Shirou's shoulder and the two disappeared from the Netherworld.

Japan

As the rest of the people present for the battle of the two Campione enjoyed dinner at a nice restaurant, Shirou's court explained why Shirou would come into conflict with the third Campione and why it was completely necessary. After Rin finished explaining it out, the only sounds that could be heard was chewing of food.

"Surely she can't be dumb enough to change the timeline willy nilly," protested Shizuka. The idea of someone like her brother or Voban being able to alter the past scared her.

Illya swallowed what was in her mouth before speaking, "you might want to know that Pandora has proclaimed Aisha as the most idiotic Campione of all time. She knows better than to change the past but still does so anyway."
