2 Chapter 1: A New Beginning

Somewhere:

Shirou groaned as he slammed into the ground that appeared out of nowhere.

He wasn't the only one.

Two groups of three slammed into the ground a short distance apart from each other.

One of the groups consisted of Gilgamesh, Saber, and Shirou, while the other consisted of Rin, Sakura, and Illya.

Most were in various states of consciousness while Shirou quickly focused on Gilgamesh and noticed a very important fact.

Gilgamesh's guard was completely down. The closest that had come to happening before was when Shirou knocked Ea out of his hands with Clarent. But even then it was lowered, not down.

Realizing that this would likely be the last chance for victory, Shirou got to his feet and began to run toward Gilgamesh as fast as he could.

Gilgamesh tried to get to his feet but appeared disoriented. This granted Shirou several additional seconds.

The seconds where long enough that as Shirou sprinted toward Gilgamesh, he was able to call upon a noble phantasm.

The first one he ever traced. The one he could copy the best. The sword that defeated Berserker. The Golden Sword of Assured Victory. Caliburn.

Gilgamesh only had time to say, "You dare..."

Before he could continue that sentence, Shirou had run him through with Caliburn.

A brief look of pain crossed Gilgamesh's face. "So victory is yours this day. To the winner goes the spoils, as they say. But know this, I will return and reclaim the power you usurped today, Faker."

With those words, Gilgamesh faded into particles of light and vanished.

Somewhere else:

"Shirou!!!" yelled Saber as she tried to bolt upright before slamming her head into something very hard. Bringing her hands to her forehead, Saber noticed a young girl with twin-tailed purple hair in the same position as her.

"That's a first," the girl spoke, "never had that happen before."

Saber quickly recovered and question, "who are you and where are we," noticing that the only way to describe their surroundings was that it was foggy and that her companions, all four of them, were unconscious on the ground.

"I am Pandora, witch, wife of Epimetheus, and mother of the Campione," the girl responded.

Saber looked at her, confused, "Campione?"

"I see that your memories have been tampered with, one second," the girl spoke and placed her finger to Saber's forehead.

Information flooded into Saber's mind and she instantly understood what had happened.

"How interesting, so that is what has happened. Are you sure that Shirou got all of them? And what will happen to mine?"

"Gilgamesh may have the largest ego in existence, but he can acknowledge the fact Shirou beat him, even when the odds were overwhelmingly against Shirou's victory. It was his decision that Shirou get everything. As for yours, I'm afraid only you or him will be able to use those."

Shirou began to stir and groaned. Pandora quickly moved over and began to cast magic.

"I'm afraid you have to go now. Look after him please."

"With my life," was Saber's response as the fog rapidly thickened.

When the fog dissipated, only Pandora remained.

"This is unlike anything that has ever happened before. A Campione with the nature of a God of Steel, a complete god as a subordinate, and an authority that partially mimics the ritual that creates Campione. I can't help but wonder what will happen next. Despair or hope. Just what does the future hold?" despite the somewhat grim nature of what she said, her face was plastered with an enormous smile.
