1 Prologue

My name is Jonathan, I'm an 18 year old high school graduate and freelance photographer.

I live in a small suburban town in Colorado, and I mean small. So small that everyone practically knows everyone here, and crime rarely happens , but when they do, 92% it's someone you know, and 8% being visitors from the next town over trying to make a quick buck and leave before getting caught to avoid jurisdiction. They always fail, my dad always makes sure of that, seeing as how he's the sheriff around these parts.

You might wonder how I know all these things, and it's not because my dad tells me. He does tell me stories about his adventures as a cop, but it's not why I know these things. I'm currently trying to become a private investigator, or maybe even a detective in the future, but for now all I got is a camera and a dream.

I like taking pictures, I mean it's a nice way to relax and all when you're taking pictures at the park, but usually I'm taking pictures of crime scenes from bank robberies for the newspaper, like anyone still reads one. I hate working there since the pay is usually low, but I gotta do what I gotta do to make a quick buck, and I'd rather be the face behind a camera instead of in front of one. I guess you could say I'm a little camera shy.

It wasn't until one faithful day when my dream, would turn into my worst nightmare

All I can remember was her crying...

She was in hysterics...

She was devastated...

I would be too if that happened to me...

Imagine the horror of a single mother realizing her 6 year old child was taken from her while they were both asleep. No footprints, no fingerprints, and no signs of forced entry, nothing. It's almost as if the little girl had disappeared without a trace.

To make matters worse, due to lack of evidence, the police can't do anything about it but put up missing posters all across town, like that's gonna help in a small town like this where everyone knows everyone.

I keep waking up to the sounds of that mother's screams. I can't just sleep when a little girl is out there probably dead right now. My dad and the police may not be able to do anything about this case, but I sure as hell am willing to try.

I'm going to find you Melody...

Whatever it takes...
