"Are you certain that's how you wished to spend your significant favor? On a weapon resembling more metal slag than a blade?" Abadeer inquired, his gaze fixed on the imposing 190-centimeter pitch-black sword that he had just finished enchanting, now resting upon my back.
"Indeed, I'm confident. Let's put this blade to the test," I declared as I drew the dark sword from its sheath on my back. The blade radiated with an intense glow, adorned densely with hundreds of thousands of intricate runes and inscriptions, each intricately folded into the other, containing enough words to make a dictionary blush.
With a swift motion, I drew the blade from my back, revealing an almost perfect replica of the Dragon Slayer from "Berserk," the only distinction being the addition of intricate magic runes and inscriptions. Over the past few months, I had dedicated myself to enhancing and refining the weapon, and now, as I beheld it, I couldn't help but feel a swell of pride. With this blade in hand, I believed I could confront even the most formidable foe, maybe even the lich.
"Let's begin with a straightforward swing," I announced, focusing my intent. With a decisive motion, I swung the blade, unleashing a cataclysmic explosion of magical energy. The force of the swing obliterated everything in its path, upheaving the ground and scattering debris. Fortunately, we were situated in a remote location, sparing any significant damage to nearby structures or inhabitants.
"Wow, that sword isn't half bad. It's almost one-thousandth as good as my amulet!" Abadeer remarked, offering a brief applause at what could be considered a casual strike. His comment prompted a nod from me as I prepared for another swing. This time, I focused on channeling magic into the weapon, specifically activating one of the inscriptions. As I swung, a massive bolt of lightning arced off the blade, crackling with potent energy.
The swing unleashed a natural disaster-like impact. The ground cracked open, creating a fissure that stretched far into the distance, while the sky above split apart as if unable to contain the force of the attack. Ash clouds spread out in all directions, carried by the sheer power of the strike.
"Wow," was all I could muster as I surveyed the devastation, simultaneously glancing at my system screen which indicated that I had only expended 1 mana for the attack. It dawned on me that this strike was comparable in power to the freeze spell I had employed during the initial ratman attack.
"I stand corrected; it's about four-thousandths as good as my amulet," Hunson admitted, his tone tinged with genuine astonishment. However, I paid little attention to his remark as I activated two more runes upon the sword. In response, the blade shifted and morphed, transforming into a simple wooden cane that perfectly suited my massive stature.
"5/1000 and looking spiffy. Well, enough of a break. Back to work with me," Abadeer declared with his final words before disappearing in a burst of flames, presumably returning to his office to tackle paperwork or whatever other tasks occupied his time, as I had always found him diligently working there whenever I sought him out.
With Abadeer gone, I decided to depart from the Nightosphere and venture out into the world of Ooo. I felt a sense of curiosity pulling me towards new adventures, and I resolved to explore until I was called upon by Emma and the others.
"Perhaps I could open a bar? No, that seems a bit overdone. Maybe a coffee shop?" I mused aloud, considering potential business ventures as I prepared to explore Ooo.
