71 Chapter 71: Reinforements

The battle continued as I was flung around, unable to fight against the constant close-ranged assaults of Moon and the king. At some point, I attempted to escape into the air, but as expected, I soon found myself caught by the much more agile king, who quickly sent me back to the ground. At this point, escape became clearly impossible, but I wasn't going out without a struggle. I used everything I had and fought back impressively, dealing dozens of fatal wounds to my opponents. Sadly, due to my opponents' natures as vampires, those wounds soon disappeared, as they were not even slowed as their offensive became even more feirce.

At this point I was layed upon the ground every single one of my bones showed cracks or were straight up missing as my HP reached below 50 at a chilling 38 a number barely over 1/10 of my HP.

"So is this all you've got? I expected more from the guy who killed Moon. Though we did all have to join together to beat you, so out of respect, I will make this quick," the king said as he marched towards my limp form on the ground. I struggled to move as my bones rattled, making audible cracking sounds as pieces fell away from my body. Though I managed to reach my feet, sadly, my cloak's effects had faded along with Glacial Dread. So, I was now far weaker, not even a match for Fool, let alone for the king who came to stand in front of me, looking down at me as if I were some pathetic bug. His face was indifferent as he raised his arm above his head, ready to finish the job.

I didn't flinch away as I watched the fist come down towards me, my life flashing before my eyes. But before the arm could make contact, flash passed, severing the arm of the king, much to my and his shock. The attack came from nowhere, though it soon became clear who did it as Marceline came into view having made herself visible, having deactivated the invisibility she had gotten from Empress, her iconic axe in hand. She now held the hand of the vampire king, which slowly began to turn to dust as it slipped through her fingers.

"Huh who are you?" The kings face changed from its apathetic distant look to one a bit more focused as he stared at Marceline who pointed her axe towards the king as she spoke angrily.

"WHO AM I?!?! I'M THE PERSON WHO'S GOING TO KICK YOUR BUTT!" That's all she said as she charged towards the king, who swiftly dodged the attack by escaping into the sky, while Marceline came to stand in his previous spot, putting herself between me and the other Nosferatu.

"Are you okay, Brook?" That's all she asked me as she held her axe, looking towards the Nosferatu that stood a distance away. Her voice was clearly worried for me. I wanted to assure her, but I didn't even have the strength to form a simple set of words using ice. So all I could do was raise my hand and give her a thumbs up, something that appeared very weird considering I was missing my ring and middle finger.

'Did she come alone?' At some point, this thought came to my mind as panic set in. My worry for her safety skyrocketed, and with the bit of mana I regenerated, I was able to ask the question.

*Are you alone?* I asked, causing her to shake her head. This left me slightly confused, as I didn't see anyone else. But the next moment is when all hell broke loose. The area was blanketed in a sudden and unprompted blizzard, which obscured not only mine and Marceline's vision, but also that of the Nosferatu and their vampires. But as fast as it came, the storm disappeared. Now, not only was Marceline beside me, but also Emma and Duke. Emma wore a beautiful cyan cloak, her hands crackling with magical energy, while Duke wielded his spear with his only good arm, clad in heavy iron armor.

*What are you doing here! you were supposed to gather in army!* I was surprised and confused why they were here when without the army, but I soon got my answer as Emma spoke sounding very unhappy with me.

"You've been fighting for 3 hours, commander! The army is already here; we just charged ahead. They have to break through the vampire horde first!" she said, answering my question. This made me realize that I had lost track of time during my fight. Before I could ask anything else, I found that the Nosferatu started their attack, each engaging someone. Marceline faced the vampire king, Duke confronted the Hierophant, and Emma took on the Moon.

Mc got his shit kicked about what should be expected. anyways I could have written this to where the mc skillfully by the skin of his neck beat all of them but that seemed kinda lame and I was like why not give others a shot at fighting?
