1 Cafè Amare

Character Description:

Mikee a bookworm who visit the cafe every day to buy her usual coffee while reading and listening to music.

Seth is your average guy who likes to play games and watch movies but also hardworking always wants to prove himself but forgetting what is truly important along the way.

Gino is Seth's best friend, an aloof guy who likes to laze around and sometimes play tricks on people. He simply wants to make everyone around him happy.

Maikah the newest member of Cafe Amare's Staff. She wanted to learn more about running a business so she decided to apply for an on the job training experience.

Jana is one of Cafe Amare's waitresses. She always does her best to help others in need.

Romina is Cafe Amare's Manager who loves to sleep but always says that she doesn't. She is an easy going person and friendly towards everyone.

Harley is Cafe Amare's security guard who welcomes the customers. He may be gentle to everyone but when the job call he means business.

Raven is the one who makes the delicious coffees on Cafe Amare, she is kind to everyone and always find the best solution to do the job.

Hidden in the busy streets of Marikina, inside Café Amare where stories like any other unfold every day. Reading her book silently as she sat on the corner table, Mikee locked away in her own world as the music from her earphones echoed away.

Outside the café Seth, a man wearing casual clothing waved his hand to greet Harley which the man replied back. "Seth! It's been a while since I last saw you come here".

Harley taps Seth's shoulder as he pulls open the door for him.

"You're right, problems just pilled up… but it doesn't, I've missed all of you" Seth looks inside the cafe and thought "I hope the cafe is still doing well".

Spencer went inside and found an empty seat just right after the corner table, as he walks inside his best friend greeted him with a smile, It was Gino his best friend. "Seth! Long time no see, how have you been?" Gino taps Seth's shoulder as he led him to the table. "Yeah it's been a long time, can't remember the last time I've been here" Zero sat at the opposite end of the table.

"I'm glad you still remember me haven't talked to you since your last visit three years ago," Zero said while reminiscing about the old days. "Sorry, I just got busy with work and stuff, and if my memory serves me right your a waiter here aren't you? Why are you just sitting there? I like to order an iced coffee, please." Spencer teased which was returned with Zero's smug face glaring at him.

"What a rude customer [Zero waved it away and laughs, but still he found it annoying that his best friend ruined his lazing time] Fine, Iced Coffee coming up sir. Zero stands up then delivered his order to the counter. Meen while Spener's phone rang, it seems like another call from his boss.

At the other table

"Good Morning Ma'am, what would you like to order?" Maikah asked. "Good morning, the usual, please." Replied Mikee removing her earpiece. "Got it, today is Valentine's Day, you got to have a date right? Don't you, Ma'am?" Maikah asked curiously. "Not anymore [smiles bitterly] I lost him 3 years ago." Feeling the awkward situation Maikah changes the topic "Oh I see… This coffee is on the house, just cheer you up." Maikah goes back to the counter. She passed by Gino who now have a freshly blended coffee in his hand. Gino caught a glimpse of Mikee and stopped. "Wait… Isn't that Mikee?"

Gino Continues on his way back to Seth's table without looking away from Mikee's direction. "Uh... Here's your order, Sir-Bro. Have a nice day!" Gino, clearly nervous, leaned forward to whisper "Don't look back." Seth looking confused looks back to see someone familiar promptly looked back to Gino. "Can't you understand instructions? I said don't look back."

"Why is she here?" Seth freaking out asked. "How would I know, it's not my fault that this cafe is you and your ex-girlfriend's favorite place. I guess she just grew fond of our drinks. Wait a minute, when did you two break up again?" Gino thought about it.

"Sigh, It's all my fault. I never saw what she truly felt before. I thought that our relationship was for fun. She always brings me here in the cafe every time shes free but instead of actually giving my time to her, I just play games or watch shows on my phone. Things continued to be that way until… until she got tired of me. At that's the point I realized how much she is worth to me and how I lost her and will never be able to bring her back."

After a long silence, Gino decided to break the cold air "I believe that my help is needed back at the counter" Gino goes at the back of the counter "Attention please, our friend Seth requires our help" Gino grinned imagining the outcome of their plan. "Oh! Seth is here? I didn't notice." Romina looked surprised "How will you notice if you're sleeping?" Gino replied jokingly "I'm not!"

"Can you please stop?" Raven mediated the fight before it even starts. She looked back at Gino "So how can we help?" Gino cleared his throat "So as I was saying, Seth and [Looks at Mikee's direction] Mikee is here"

"Mikee? As in the girl who is always here alone reading books?" Said Maikah as she pointed at the corner table. "Yes, newbie. 'That' Mikee." Emphasizing who they're talking about. "What a surprise, She's always here," Romina said sarcastically pointing out the obvious. "Really? How come I didn't know" Gino wondering how come he didn't notice. "Now tell me who's sleeping?" Romina added.

"So, how can we help him?" Jana asked intrigued about the plan "Simple we'll be cupids for the day so here's the plan" Gino and the rest of the crews formed a circle, whispering plans making the people in the store curious. "Okay then. Let's do this." Romina Said enthusiastically.

Gino, with a rose on his hand, goes up to Mikee. "Good morning Ma'am a rose paired with your Iced Coffee." Gino handed the flower. "Wait, I didn't order an Iced Coffee nor a flower?" Mikee asked confused. "Maybe you didn't, but some else did. Have a nice day!" Gino smiled then returned to the counter.

Back at the table. Mikee thought that this is just one of the cafe's promotion then placed the thought at the back of her head. "Wow, she didn't even bother to look for the one who gave her the coffee," Maikah said in surprise. Harley who just arrived" It seems like Plan A failed how 'bout moving on to Plan B"

Romina and Jana entered the cafe wearing their casual outfits. They signaled to the other staff members about the plan. "Good Morning, Ma'am. I'm sorry but there are no empty seats left" Gino said tactfully.

"Pity, we really love the Coffe and Pastry of this place," Romina said "How about this, if you manage to find us a table I'll give you a large tip" Gino smiled "Of course, Ma'am there is an empty table before the corner. Gino walks towards Seth. "Sorry, man but there are two other customers who need special treatment" As Gino forcefully pulls Seth away from the table "Wait! I'm also a customer" Seth claimed, clearly angry from what gino did.

"I know, but they already promised to pay me a large tip. And because you are my best friend you'll gladly give up space" Gino pushes Seth. "The table is ready," Gino said to Romina and Jana." How come they look familiar…" Seth wondering where he saw the two.

"No, they don't! Also, if you want a seat, there's an empty one" Gino misdirected his attention then point at the other chair on Mikee's table. Seth walks to the table forgetting who is currently sitting there "Um… Mind if I sit?"

"No, go ahead," Mikee said without raising her head from the book. Seth pulled the chair and sat. Back to Jana and Romina who is Hi-Fiving for their success. Maikah walked towards the table seeing that step one was successful now its time for step two. "Enjoy, I added more cocoa in it," Maikah said handing the cup. "Thanks," Mikee said taking the cappuccino. While so she caught a glimpse on the man opposite of her.

"S- Seth?" An awkward silence formed around them. "Hi" Seth replied not knowing what to say. "Hello…" Mike replied back awkwardly killing off the conversation both of them refused to look at each other. "Cappuccino as usual, huh?" Seth taking the initiative to remove the awkward air. Mikee nods at him "You're still addicted over Iced coffee." Bringing up the glass of Ice coffee served with the rose.

"I'm not that addicted to it, I just loved it, not gonna lie, this is the first time I ordered it again… after 3 years." Seth answered honestly. "Time really flies so fast, right? I mean, the last time I saw you, was back in college. But now, look at you, looks like you've reached your dreams." Seth laughs "But even if time has passed, there are still things that don't change, you're still the shy, timid, sweet girl I know. so are my feelings" Seth replied while his voice slowly dimming in the end.

Harley slammed his hands on the table "Look what we have here! The two reason why this cafe is still alive. Do you remember the tradition that you two made? The Valentine's gift? That attracted almost every couple here in town to visit this cafe." A nostalgic feeling covered the place.

Which Raven added "Sadly, when you two disappeared, so is the tradition. But now, that you two are finally here, we can do it again. One last time." Romina and Jana who already returned to their uniform surrounded Seth. "Seth, what's your gift for Mikee?" Jana asked

"Well, I didn't know this will happen so I have nothing with me that can be a gift but I guess this will do" He didn't bring anything with him only his phone, he looked around an found a rose lying on the table.

Mikee accepted the gift "Umm...Thanks. The same goes for me. I think I really don't have something I can give as a gift." The staff already left leaving the two of them alone. Seth breathed deeply "How about... Another chance?"
