The Escape

(Meanwhile, on the outside)

Standing outside along with the crowd, he looked at a small disc that was in his hand. He sighed and turned his attention to the door, as the next phase was to create another distraction here to get away.

"Benjamin, you idiot. You better make it outside, and I still can't fathom why you decided to swap our identities. You're the only family I got left", he muttered in a low voice, looking into the sky.

The cell in his pocket vibrated twice, indicating that he had got a text.

'002. Come through the door'

"Crap. Not 002", he began to look around in a panic. Pulling out two red cased grenades, he threw them far to his left and right. The moment it blasted, huge flames appeared and the crowd began to run towards the exit, where they had to cross the door he was aiming for.

Placing the disc on his neck, he tapped on it twice and changed his identity to Benjamin. Using the crowd as his cover, he swiftly reached the door. Creaking it open, he saw two people exchanging blows, and his blood began to boil.

Looking around, he saw Clara in a corner, tucked away safely. Keeping an eye on the fight so that he didn't get caught, he reached her in a few seconds of cautiousness. Just as he was about to check for anyone, he heard voices from his left side.

"This way! The boss is fighting this way! Hurry up!", said one of the voices and he heard a few more footsteps rushing towards Benjamin. Lucas wasn't as good a fighter as Benjamin was, but he was decent enough to handle a few guards.

Sticking his foot out from the corner, he tripped one of the guards and punched the other right on the nose, breaking the tendons within. The one other guard put his guard up looking at the swift roundhouse kick that was headed for his head.

The other two had now gained back their ground and stood to face him off, and he took a deep breath, relaxing every muscle on his body. Locking eyes with one of the guards, he smirked and made his move immediately.

Punching the guard right back at his nose, he stumbled backwards and using this momentum to his advantage, Lucas rotated his body and gave a roundhouse kick again. The guard fell to the ground clutching his stomach, unable to get back up.

"Two", he muttered and turned his attention to the next one that was about to attack him, placing his palms outwards and redirecting his punch just to scrape his left cheek. The guard was stunned at the sheer speed of his reaction time, and raised a single question.

"Who are you?" he asked, trying to punch Lucas in the stomach and he just evaded it by swaying his hips sideways. Raising his knee, Lucas hit him square in his jaw with a crack following right after he connected.

The only one left was terrified. Lucas turned his attention towards him, and he turned around to run away. He wanted to stay intact, and Lucas didn't plan on leaving anyone that could point him out very soon. He had knocked the first one out and broke the second one's jaw to make sure he couldn't call for backup.

Sprinting towards him, he caught up to the guard and slammed his head to the ground, and heard more footsteps approaching him. He made a quick decision and looked around, finding a small can of Methanol.

He picked up the fire extinguisher and knocked over the sand that was in the buckets. Pouring the Methanol on the ground, he looked at the other three who were unconscious beyond the line he was about to create.

Picking them up and placing them behind the line, he looked at them one final time and back at Benjamin, who was holding up his own against Lee. He was contemplating on whether he should jump in and save him, or prioritise on saving Clara.

He sighed and lit up the Methanol, giving rise to flames and walked towards Clara, and took a look at the progress of the nanobots. They had reached an almost eighty percent completion, and concluded that by the time they were out from here, it would have completed it.

Picking her up and slinging her onto his shoulder, he made his way out stealthily. Turning his head back to look at his brother one final time, his eyes welled up for they were to go their separate ways, so that they wouldn't know where the other lived.

The only way they would keep in touch was through the cell which he had in his pocket, and a meeting spot out in the sticks once a year. Remembering everything they had gone through, the dreams they shared, the moments they had, Lucas watched him fight against Lee.

Deciding that it was time, he turned his head away from his brother, carefully closing the door behind him so that he didn't make any noise. Looking to the sky, he waited for a few moments and then made his move.

"Make it out alive, brother", he muttered under his breath. Running alongside the building, he followed the footsteps that the crowd had left behind to catch up to them, and mingle within them to get out.

Holding a knife with a string attached to his wrist, his eyes wandered around vigilantly looking for any guards that might be a hindrance to his path. Spinning the knife in his fingers, he let go of it the moment he saw a guard that was heading his way.

Not knowing what had hit him, the guard died on the spot with the knife lodged in his throat. with the flick of his wrist, he pulled the knife back towards him and made his way to the crowd.

Blending in and leaving the premises disguised within, he escaped the facility and headed towards the lush green forest that surrounded the building, escaping away from it. Pulling out his phone, he typed a single line.

'004. Make it out.'
