Chapter One

Octavia was just your normal girl and was just like every other girl who lived in Lakeside .

She didn't have much problems except the random depression and the extra body mass issues.

Octavia was a senior in High School, she had two close friends , Rain and Sena.

Rain was a half caste (mixed race) girl from France and Ghana and Sena was a Voltarian from Ghana .

These three friends loved each other so much.

In their circle, Octavia was the smart and shy one , Rain was the Fashionista and outgoing one and Sena was a blend of the two and she was also like their motherly figure .

Like in every other High School , there were squads or groups or cliques by that I meant the jocks , the mean girls , the nerds , the bullies ,those that get picked on and and the common floor members.

In Lakeside High , Octavia was one of the unfortunate girls who got picked on. But whenever she was with Rain and Sena , they dared not.

And by they I meant the mean girls , Ayana , Hannah and Perpetual . These girls were straight out of a movie Cliché high school mean girls .

Their uniforms were shorter than it was supposed to be , they also wore push up bras to push up their nonexistent breasts , they were always flirting with the teachers and they tried to stay in shape by eating leaves all day long .

They were basically bones with a slap of flesh here and there . And not to forget the fact that though makeup was strictly forbidden in the school , they were always looking like barbie dolls gone extremely wrong.

The jocks were Maynard ,Jason and Hayden . They were basketball players for Lakeside High and damn they were good . Maynard was the captain , Jason his assistant and Hayden held no post but was just as good as the two .

Did I mention that Octavia had a major crush on Maynard ??

Well she did , since the beginning of high school and I could dare to say she loved him. But she literally could not say three words to him .

Ayana on the other hand was always around Maynard , he was obviously not interested but being the gentleman that he is , he endured her clingyness .

Ayana was so clingy and always wanted to be around him , the only place they weren't together was the boys' dormitories where girls were prohibited from going to.

She followed him around like a lovesick puppy. During classes , she also made sure to sit close to him and she was almost on his laps.

In the canteen , they were together , in the hallways ;they were together . They were practically married already .

It was a month to graduation and the ORS girls (Octavia , Rain and Sena) were studying in the library when the jocks came in.

It was so surprising Ayana let Maynard come there without her but I guess she was allergic to libraries , she hardly had a brain to comprehend all the knowledge in there .

Maynard , Jason and Hayden were part of the school's top twenty students so it was understandable they were there to study . You could only be part of the team if you had good grades.

Octavia was searching for a book when her eyes met with Maynard's , that was the first time their eyes met . Their staring contest was short lived because Octavia was too shy to continue looking at him .
