3 3. I Promise to Fulfill My Promises to You This Time Around

The man smiled softly at the retreating figure of the girl who just kicked him to the ground, 'She still hasn't changed, she's still as fierce as she used to be,' he thought as he remembered the times she stood up for him when they were still children even though he is older than her by three years, she had no qualms telling off the boys who are older than her if they so much as talk bad behind his back, he promised her that he will protect her even though she laughed at him for promising that saying he is the one who needs protecting, 'My missus Ra, i am sorry for not being able to help you before but i am back now, i promise to fulfill my promises this time around, i will definitely avenge you from those who dared to cause you any grievance while i am gone.' he clenched his hands and thought of those people who possibly caused her to suffer. Now that he regained a stable footing, he will definitely investigate everything that happened after he left the country.

"Young master! Why did you let her kick you to the ground like that?" his subordinate walked up to him puzzled, he clearly knew that he can easily dodge the girl's attack since he is well versed in self defense being it one of his pass times, he was shocked that he even willingly let himself kneel to the ground like that, just who is that girl? And his young master even smiled softly while looking at her retreating back after receiving her kick! What a feat!

"I deserved it." the man said returning to his usual cold demeanor which the subordinate was used to.

The subordinate became more puzzled at the man's answer 'he deserved it? he deserved to be kicked?' he wanted to ask him to elaborate but no longer dared to raise a question.

"Let's return to the main house." the man instructed which was immediately obeyed.

Tiara tossed and turned in her bed that night, she cannot keep herself from thinking of that man.

He is no longer the little boy she saved that fateful day nor the thin and weak bodied boy she grew up with who was easily bullied and needs protecting even if he refuses to acknowledge it.

She got up off bed the next day with dark circles around her eyes cursing a certain man for his ability to inflict chaos in her mind.

She did her routine then went to work with little enthusiasm.

"Goodmorning" Tiara lazily greeted the woman in the front desk before entering the elevator to proceed to her department.

She has been working as the Secretary of CEO David Kong of Kong Enterprises for half a year already but she only have three friends here, the closest one being Dania Lin.

The other employees here treats her as a negligible character with no importance at all, they will sometimes look at her with contempt saying that she got a job here out of pity from CEO Kong but she doesn't care.

It is below her to even throw a glance to people who only knows how to step on people when they are on their lowest.

"Tiara Xue!" someone loudly called her name, she looks and of course it would be Dania. This girl clearly has no regard to her image, she sighed.

"What the hell happened to you yesterday? You picked up my call and didn't talk to me! Were you harassed by that man i heard from the phone last night? I was so worried!" Dania ranted continuesly.

"I'm fine Dan, just some stranger who mistook me for someone else and my phone died when i thought of returning your call last night, sorry for making you worry." Tiara said apologetically.

"It's fine as long your okay and not hurt. Wait, do you remember the news last time about the Feng Group transferring their headquarters back here in Country A?"Dania enthusiastically inquired.

"Yeah."

"It's confirmed! It was all over the news today and guess what, the famous young master of Feng Pharmaceuticals, 'Handsomest' Doctor Riven Feng, returned to the country!"

"Oh."

"I hope i would be able to see him, just one glance is enough even if he does not look at me as long as i can see even just the tip of his clothes i will be very happy! It will be a dream come true!" Dania continued ranting with a dreamy expression.

"Oh."

"Hey! How can you be so unaffected, this news is already the talk of the town and isn't the Xue and Feng family close friends before they migrated to Country B? Is it possible that you know him before they left?" Noticing Tiara's indifference, Dania cannot help being puzzled since its every girls dream to meet that handsome,young, legendary doctor Riven Feng. Who wouldn't? The young medical genius did not only cause havoc with his handsome looks but his medical skills and achievements abroad caused men and women alike to fawn and praise him to no end. Setting aside his achievements, he is also the young master of the Feng family, an aristocratic family whose roots can be traced back to the ancient dynasties allowing them wide and deep seated connections all over the country. Dania is quite puzzled with her friend's attitude, she remembered how she always seem to react differently everytime the young master Feng is mentioned but will look at the pictures she showed her from time to time, she feels like there is something off especially that she remembered how the Xue and Feng family which are both aristocratic families used to be close before.

"I don't know him." Tiara said dismissively before gathering the documents she is working with and pretended to focus on her work.

Dania has no choice but to also turn to her table and start working, she wondered why the Feng family did not extend help to the Xue family when they were on the verge of collapsing seeing that they were friends. Even if they already went to Country B during the start of the Xue family's downfall they could have easily extended help with their connections in the country, so why? Dania shook her head and continued working.
