7 They’ve Been Going At It For Seven Hours Now

Beads of sweat rolled down Roland's Face.

He'd been standing in the wardrobe for two hours. He stood still, cramped with the thick woolen garments, with very little space to stretch his aching muscles.

Within the course of two hours, he'd fainted a total of four times; two times of which were from the heat and the other two from Donall's 'righteous acts'.

Three hours passed.

Four hours passed.

Five hours passed.

Six hours passed.

Seven hours.

'They've been going at it for seven hours now without any rest! How? This should not be physically possible'.

The young maiden's cries echoed throughout the chamber, volume increasing with each passing minute for seven hours. This caused little Mary to twitch but, as soon as Donall's cries echoed it'd die down.

Half an hour passed.

'Since this place has a secret entrance, maybe I should try going out the back' He nodded to himself 'that could work'.

He pushed himself till he came in contact with back of the wardrobe.

'Nope. Definitely not Narnia'.

He groaned inwardly bracing himself against the corner of the wardrobe.

He found himself falling backward and let out a shriek of surprise

The wardrobe had rotated in an angular manner.

Due to the sudden surprise he was unable to maintain his balance, and fell on his back onto a rocky terrain. After he had come to his senses, he stood up and looked around. He found himself standing in an alley and, from the looks of it; he was right beside the cathedral.

'Free at last, free at last, Thank God almighty I am free at last'.

A tear rolled down his cheek.

He brushed himself off and walked towards the sound of the bustling crowd. His eyes brightening with each step he took.

He let out a breath he had no idea he was holding upon exiting the alley.

He looked around and confirmed that he was indeed outside of the cathedral.

He took the route he had taken the day before to make his way back to castle as he was famished and both physically and mentally exhausted.

Emphasis on mentally exhausted.

His pace was slow as he was not in much of a rush. He took this opportunity to fully examine his surroundings.

When compared to the day before, the streets were pretty much empty.

He walked towards the alley he'd passed the day before to look for the man he'd seen the day before.

To his surprise, the man was seated in the same position he'd seen him in the day before but, he looked like a shell as he stared at the wall before him.

He walked over to him and stood beside him. The man did not make any movements and appeared as though he was not aware that someone was standing next to him.

Roland crouched and waved his hand before his face. No response.

He placed a hand on his shoulder but quickly regretted his actions as the man jumped and began screaming.

Roland flinched and tried to calm the man.

"I'm not going to do anything so please calm down".

He tried his best to calm him down, but it seemed that the more he spoke was the more agitated the man became.

He looked behind him and realized that a few of the persons present were looking towards them so; he stood up and walked away after spearing the man a glance.

'I'll have to try talking to him another time'.

He made his way towards the castle and headed straight to room and collapsed on his bed.

'What am I to do now?'
