Chapter Seventy Eight

You didn't return to the new student dorms until late in the night due to spending the day with All Might, he wanted to make sure you were ok after facing Shadow Jack. Locking the door, you turned planning to change and crash in your bed ready to just be alone.

"Where the hell have you been!?"

You snapped your eyes from gazing at the floor, Katsuki stood from the couch.

"What are you doing awake-?"

"What the fuck-!?" Katsuki became alarmed upon seeing your bruised face.

"Nothing." You pulled your head away from his warm fingers.

"Did Shadow Jack-!?"

"No-" You shook your head, eyes feeling heavy ready for sleep. "-this is from the guards-"

"The guards!?" Katsuki stepped in front of you, blocking you from getting far. "Why the hell would they-!?"

"Katsuki-" You tiredly looked into his eyes, you then saw how tense they were, how tired he was but still he stayed up worrying about your wellbeing. "-I'm ok." You brushed your fingers over his cheek, cupping the side of his face.

"Tsk-" He breathed, still appearing to be annoyed. "-you forgot your phone again."

"I did?"

"Yes!" Katsuki bit, "No one could call you; we had no idea what was going on and I-" He cut himself off glancing away. "-I couldn't be with you, but I still need to know what is going on when you're having a meeting with a fucking villain!"

"I'm sorry." You weakly smiled, "I promise I'll do better with the phone thing."

"You better." Katsuki muttered, wrapping his arms around you. "How did it go?"

"It was pointless." You muffled into his shirt.

"What?"

"We got nothing from Shadow Jack."

"Nothing at all?"

"No, this was all just some game to him."

"That bastard!" Katsuki cursed,

"How did the concert go?"

"Fine." Katsuki smirked, "We killed the school with our music."

"I believe you." You laughed, "Did anyone record it for me?"

"Yes." Katsuki nodded, his hands traveled over your arms sending tingles into your spine. "Come on." He said gripping your hand pulling you with him.

"Huh?" You blinked. "But I wanna watch the video-!" You whined.

"Just come on." Katsuki dragged you through the glass double doors and through the courtyard.

"Where are we going?" You asked but was ignored, Katsuki just kept walking until you were crunching your way through the surrounding forest. "What-?" You went to say but stopped seeing a glow in the dark.

You followed Katsuki stepping through the brush, you looked around a small clearing in the trees. A picnic laid out in the cool grass; lit lanterns illuminated soft light. You turned to Katsuki visibly confused.

"Be my girlfriend." Katsuki bluntly blurted into the open, freezing you in place.

"Uh-Wh-What?" You stammered.

"Will...you be my...girlfriend-?" Katsuki tried again, "-please?" He stiffly added, you stared at him, the soothing light outlined the handsome features of his face, he ran a hand through his spikey blond hair as the silence was beginning to weigh down on him.

"What--Why—I am confused." You shook your head still trying to grasp what he had said. You have learned in your time at UA Katsuki Bakugo was not the kind to show many emotions, he in this way reminded you so much of All Might.

In those still seconds of apparent fear or anxiety he simply smiled in the face of danger. But here in this moment you could see his uneasiness. His shoulders were tense, his fingers kept flexing and he refused eye contact with you.

"What the hell is there to be confused about!?" Katsuki bit, swallowing the lump in his throat, his heart pounding in his chest, emotions overflowed his heart, and he didn't know how to handle them.

"What brought this-?"

"I don't want to fuck this up!" Katsuki snapped, his fists tightening.

"Why would-?"

"In the laundry room-" Katsuki cut you off, instantly the two of you blushed at the mention of it. "-I don't regret what we did, but I want to do this right because that's what you deserve."

"Katsuki..."

"I don't want to fuck up what we have..." Katsuki's face was bright red, he glared off to the side unable to look you in the eye. "...I care...about you (y/n), and I don't want any other guy touching you or thinking that they can because-because they can't-!" Katsuki snapped his eyes to you, "-because your fucking mine!"

"Kat-"

Katsuki stormed over, closing the space. He engulfed you inside a hug, shoving his face into the crook of your neck not knowing what else to do or how to process the overwhelming emotions running through him.

"Answer the damn question!" Katsuki snapped, taking a deep breath in, resting his head onto yours.

"What question?"

"Are you fucking kidding me-!?" He pulled away, his eyes involuntarily brushing over the mark on the side of your face. "-you fucking forgot-!?"

"I thought..." Your hands rested against his firm chest, "...that we kind of were already..." Katsuki's eyes widened then a cocky smile spread across his face.

"That's not an answer."

"I mean technically it is." You replied, Katsuki tightened his grip.

"Not the one I'm looking for."

"Yes." You smiled, getting lost inside his scarlet eyes.

"Yes what?" He narrowed down, making you laugh.

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend."

"Was that so fucking hard!?"

"Fuck do you want my blood type to!?"

"Knowing how you are I probably should know it!"

"Wait what does that mean?"

"Fucking princess-" Katsuki's hand found itself way behind your neck, the other remained around your waist as he dipped you backwards, kissing you so passionately it burned your heart. You felt that familiar pressure between your legs and you began to crave Katsuki in a way you never felt before.

You leaned against Katsuki watching the sunrise, feeling for a change at peace with yourself. The world and all its problematic issues vanished from sight when Katsuki wrapped his arms around you. The two of you did not end up going to bed until the sun placed itself high in the morning sky.

"(y/n) come on!" Mina groaned, pushing on your body trying to stir you awake.

"No." You moaned, pulling the blanket over your head.

"(y/n)!"

"More sleep thank you."

"It's five in the afternoon!" Mina griped, "-and you have some explaining to do!"

"Sleep...need it to heal."

"Oh, now you need to rest!"

"Mhm."

"(y/n)-" Mina stated, "-look where you are."

"No thank you."

"You're in Bakugo's bed!"

"Mhm."

"Is that really all you're going to say!?"

"What did he say?"

"Nothing!" Mina complained, "I was knocking on your door, he came out and said you were in his bed! What the hell (y/n)!"

"We stayed up late." You yawned, opening your eyes as you stretched your body.

"So, you slept in his bed!?"

"Why are you waking me up?"

"Because it's the daytime and you should be awake."

"I really don't think that's accurate."

"You have to fill me in on everything!" Mina squealed, pushing you over to crawl into the bed, kicking her legs under the blanket next to you. You yawned, rolling onto your side, "Oh my God your face!"

"Yeah." You hummed, resting your head against the pillow inhaling Katsuki's familiar scent.

"What happened!? Did you get that at the prison!? Did something happen-!?"

"The so-called meeting with Shadow Jack was all one big game to the psycho." You yawned, "He got the guards riled up, making them think I was there to bust him out, so they turned on me."

"What the hell did the teachers do!?"

"Fight them."

"Oh my gosh!"

"Yeah, it was...not a good time. The sports festival looked like fun-"

"Oh, it was." Mina proudly stated, "We killed it, but what I need to know is what happened when you got back to the dorms!"

"Ah well-" You opened your eyes looking over to Mina, "-Katsuki asked me to be his girlfriend-"

"WHAT!?"

"Yeah." You laughed, "He uh, made a picnic for us outside it was really pretty and yeah..."

"What did you say!?"

You looked around Katsuki's room.

"Well clearly I said no." You joked, causing her to lightly smack you.

"I'm so happy for-!" Mina was cut off by the bedroom door opening, his red eyes instantly caught your attention.

"What the hell-?" Katsuki looked from you then two Mina who were both in his bed, this was not a fantasy of his.

"Out!" Mina pointed to the door.

"Why the fuck-!?"

"We are busy." Mina replied in a 'duh' tone.

"If you want us to go to this damn thing tonight-!"

"Uh-" Mina scoffed; "-you mean just you because (y/n) isn't yours-"

"What thing?" You wondered, tuning out their argument.

"That's right!" Mina gasped, "You weren't here, you don't know!"

"What don't I know?"

"We are having a movie night."

"Mm." You hummed, "Like we do every night-"

"No!" Mina bounced. "It's going to be in the park off school grounds, the movie will be on this big screen that's being set up, it's gonna be so much fun!"

"Mm... cool have fun."

"No!" Mina cried, "You have to come (y/n)!"

"Sleep."

"What time did you go to bed?"

"Like nine."

"I-In the morning!?"

"Mhm, that is how time works."

Katsuki rolled his scarlet eyes.

With how close you and Mina were, he would think by now she would know how to get you out of bed. Katsuki breathed through his nose, moving to the drink carrier neither of you hadn't noticed when he walked in the room. He picked up the two plastic cups and shook one.

He smirked, instantly seeing your eyes open at the sound. You reached your arm out, but he shook his head.

"You have to get up." Katsuki instructed on how to earn coffee.

"No." You pouted, curling up inside the blankets.

"Fine." Katsuki shrugged, pulling the straw to his soft butter lips. You glared but slowly untangled yourself from the sheets, cursing the entire time. "Was that so hard?" Katsuki smirked, enjoying your small temper tantrum.

Mina remained sitting on the bed, stunned seeing a peak at Katsuki's soft side.

"I hate life and I can't deal with people." You replied, sipping the cold liquid through the straw.

"Yes." Katsuki nodded, turning to Mina handing her the second drink.

"R-Really?" Mina gasped, "For me?"

"Why the hell do you look so shocked!?"

"Ah there he is." Mina nodded, seeing the old Katsuki surface. It seems he reserved his soft side only for you.

"Get the hell out!" Katsuki pointed to the door, glaring at Mina who giggled.

"Come on (y/n)!" Mina grabbed your arm, "Let's get ready together!"

"Can't we just go back to bed?" You whined but allowed her to drag you.

You carried the cloth bag, filled with goodies of all varieties. This was the only thing Katsuki would allow you to help with. The sky began to fall asleep when your class began their way off school grounds. Ida explained how they got the permission to venture off campus.

"I am so excited!" Mina and Toru squealed together, Katsuki rolled his eyes laying out the blanket he picked for the two of you to sit on. You glanced around; a large white screen was set up with a projector on standby. It looked like it was only your class here, not a big turnout.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!?" Katsuki's voice pulled your attention to him, he sat on the edge of the blanket, you beside him but Mina was plopping down beside you.

"What?" Mina blinked, "Something wrong."

"Go get your own spot dumbass!"

"Oh, it's starting!" Mina pointed, ignoring Katsuki's death glare. You yawned, leaning your head against Katsuki's shoulder which instantly shut down his hostile temper. The movie played, you stared at the snack bag by your feet wishing it to crawl closer.

"Here." Katsuki slid his hoodie off, your eyes devilishly peeked at his exposed skin as his shirt got caught up in his hoodie.

"Why-?"

"I can feel you shivering."

"Won't you be cold-?"

"Sh!" Mina shushed you.

"Don't fucking shush me!" You grinned, thanking Katsuki you slid on his black hoodie with an orange cross over the chest. Katsuki was instantly distracted from Mina and the movie seeing you in his clothing brought a sense of pride to him. He wrapped his arm around you, bringing you close against him as he turned his attention to the movie, allowing himself to relax.

In the quiet of the night, with just the sound of the movie playing as your classmates smiled and munched on snacks, a piercing high-pitched sound screeched through the area.

The obnoxious sound amplified itself inside your ear canal, causing the muscles in your back to tense as chills shivered down your skin. Faint sounds of your classmates crying out in agony as the sound became deafening, filling every sense you held, except the faint sweet smell you captured in your nose.

"Ah!" Mina cried, holding her head until her eyes dropped closed, she collapsed landing on your legs.

"Urgh-!" Katsuki gritted his teeth, his eyes trying to find you as little black dots filled his sight he fell backwards suddenly. Your face was pinched together, one by one your classmates dropped faint crunching footsteps approached you.

Turning your head, you captured a faint outline of a figure slamming an object against your head piling on to the growing concussion, pain exploded as darkness swallowed you whole, you fell sideways limply laying on Katsuki's chest.
