3 Chapter 3: It rings a bell.

Kaida's pov

After what happened, I passed out and I kept waking up and falling back into being unconscious like fading in and out of reality. I couldn't remember a thing that happened, "Eugh...W-What happened...?" I whispered to myself once I woke up. I groaned sitting up and Jason comes through my door, "Oh hey! You're finally up." Jason said. I tilted my head not even knowing what happened myself.

Jason sat next to me in bed and gave me a cup of water. I held it and looked around, "How did we get here?" I asked him. He rubbed the back of his head, "I placed you on my horse and rode home." He explained. I tried to take a drink but the water was suddenly boiling. It absolutely stung and burned my mouth, "Ow! Not funny, Jason." I said as I thought he was pranking me or something. He looked confused, "Huh? The water was still cold when I got here." He stated. I widened my eyes and looked at the cup.

"What the...?"

I said to myself. I lifted my hand from the cup to see what was going on. The side of the cup was burnt. My jaw dropped and I accidentally dropped the cup of now boiling water, "W-What's going on?!" I panicked. Jason got startled and he looked at the cup, "These weren't there before." He said about the burn marks on the cups in the shape of my hands and looked incredibly confused. I looked at my hands and got up even though I was still a bit dizzy and wobbly, "J-Jason what's going on?! What happened?!" I asked in a panic.

Jason stood up and tried to hold my wrist. He pulled away quickly being stung by incredible heat, "Ah! Why the heck is your hands hot as heck?" He asked confused. I placed my hand on a piece of paper. I was hoping it'd be back to normal by now, "I-Its okay! Y-You're okay, Kay." I said to myself in my head. I watched the paper. It burned, "HOW THE FRICK DID YOU DO THAT?!" Jason exclaimed scared, confused, and amazed at the same time I guess. I panicked "I-I DON'T KNOW." I replied as I myself have no idea how I did that.

I ran down to the bathroom to take a shower thinking it'd wash away easily. I came back to the room all dressed, "H-How is it?" Jason asked. I held the towel and tried to dry my hair but the cloth suddenly burned, "What the hell?!" I yelled looking at the now burning cloth. I sighed and sat down. Jason then got up and got a new one then sat behind me to dry my hair for me, "Thanks." I said with a light sigh. Jason smiled, "Just keep your cool okay? I'm here. If you need anything just ask." He said while wiping and drying my hair. Meanwhile, I was trying my best to think of what happened before I passed out or where I got the burning ability.

I smiled and a light red tint started to form on my face because of how sweet he was and...how cute. I tensed at the thought in my head then I heard a growl. I looked up at Jason, "Are you growling?" I asked him curiously. Jason tilted his head, "What? No, I can't even growl I'm human." He explained. I looked around searching for the source of the growl. A beastly voice spoke in my head, "Fear not, Child. Calm down." It stated. I widened my eyes and got up quick, "W-Who's there?!" I said in a panic. I thought someone was with us in the room but Jason and I were the only ones left since Uncle Elrick was out.

Jason looked at me weirdly, "Uh...Are you okay, Kay?" He asked watching me quickly get up and panic. The voice snickered, "The human cannot hear me, Child. I am in your head and in your thoughts." It started again. I held my head and sighed, "Everything is just happening all at once..." I said tiredly as I was slightly getting weak. Jason gets up and places his hand on my shoulder for support just in case I fall unconscious again.

The voice growled again and appeared as a small little dragon, "Greetings, Child." It said to me. I tilted my head, "W-Where'd you come from?" I asked it. The small dragon climbs up on me and sits on my shoulder, "Somewhere none of you know of. I see you are a Moon Hound." It shared. I looked at it, "Uh, Yeah why?" I asked. The dragon pawed at my cheek, "I know you know of the conflicts that my kind and yours have had." It stated. Well yeah, I know of the bad blood with them but I always thought that everyone should just get along. Just because they're different doesn't mean we have to be fighting and horrible to them. Any race, any color, any height, any weight, or etc. We have to be kind and respectful. Cause come on just because an individual is part of a certain group, doesn't mean they're all the same. Good or bad actually.

I picked the small dragon up, "So uh...What's your name?" I asked it. The small black dragon suddenly purred in a beastly tone, "My name is Ignatius. The fire dragon." Ignatius stated. I smiled a little, "Well, nice to meet you I guess." I nervously said. Ignatius pawed at my cheek again but gently, "No need to be nervous, Child." He said. I smiled but it turned into a frown as I still have no idea what happened to me at all. I looked at him, "Do you know what's happening to me?" I asked him. He yawned, "Well yes, The past handler of your new-found powers passed me on to you along with the element of fire since his time was almost at hand. I guess you could say I am your 'companion' on helping you with your powers." He explained.

I tilted my head, "A-Alright. Could you take us to the location where is passed it to me?" I asked him. He looked at Jason, "He seems to know. Oh and by the way." He followed up. I sat down listening to what he had to say, "Hm?" I hummed curiously. He hops off my shoulder and sat in front of us, "It is not only me that got passed to you." He said and licked his scaly paw. I tilted my head as to what that meant.

'Is he not alone? Does he have another friend with him?' I asked myself.

Ignatius snarled and pulled my right sleeve up revealing the fire mark, "I was passed onto you with the responsibility of the most powerful element in this world, Child. It might be sudden and I know you are not r-" His sentence gets cut off. by me. I facepalmed, "How am I supposed to do this?!" I exclaimed. He growled, "You will have to grow out of your comfort zone and conquer this, Child! And maybe even someday you'll become a powerful being." He said. I sighed and thought about it.

I looked at him, "Then how do I start in getting it?" I asked. Ignatius tilted his little head as to what that 'it' is. I rolled my eyes, "You know. The ability of thing or magic?" I said to him with a little annoyed tone in my voice. Ignatius nodded, "I shall help you, Child. Just remember. You don't have to do things alone." He said with a smile. I smiled a little bit at what he said. I nodded and inhaled in determination, "Yeah! I'll try it!" I said with a raised voice thinking I was ready to train or try anything.

Jason was just watching the little dragon looking very amazed at him as he has never seen a creature like this, "Wow! Are you really a dragon?" He asked. Ignatius nodded and did a little beastly chirp but in a small tone like a baby. Jason chuckled and got a piece of chicken and holds it on top of the little guy. Ignatius chirped again and sniffs at it, "Oh! Gimme!" Ignatius said and hopped up and down trying to reach it and just decides to use his wings to fly up and grab the delicious piece of chicken. I giggled watching them play around. Jason then got some sour candy and lets Ignatius sniff at it. Ignatius does so and sneezes but takes a lick and eats it anyway.

Ignatius purred cutely loving the taste, "Wow! The food here is wonderful, Human! Do you have any more?" The little Ignatius asked Jason. Jason chuckled again, "Of course I do." He said and grabbed some more for him. Ignatius eats it and paws at me. I looked down at him, "Hm?" I said curiously. He did a little beastly meow but it was still cute as heck, "Could I have something to drink?" Ignatius asked and Jason nodded knowing I couldn't touch anything for the moment and got it for him instead. Ignatius sways his tail and drinks some water to wash down the sour candy and chicken.

After a while, Jason took us to the spot where it got transferred to me. The place where I stood had a triangular scorch mark on the ground. It was the Alchemical Symbol of Fire. Ignatius then sat on my shoulder to wait for my reaction. then everything started to go back. I remembered everything. I widened my eyes seeing everything that happened to me. I was silent looking at the ground. The mark suddenly started to glow and some of my past memories started to come back as well...but one memory stood out from everything else. It was the memory...of seeing my parents for the very first time.

While I was in my Mother's arms. My Father smiling sweetly down at me while we were in the den since my father and uncle were fully Moon Hound. I guess you could say it rings a bell.
