2 Chapter 2: It begins.

Kaida's Pov

The next day

I woke up to uncle Elrick knocking at my door, "Kay? Someone's looking for you downstairs." I groaned and sat up "Huh? Alright...I'll be right down." I said to him, "Alright lil' pup." He snickered and I glared at him, "I'm not a pup anymore you know." I said as I got up and walked downstairs to see who was looking for me, "Mm...but its a day off though." I told uncle Elrick, "Aw c'mon liiiil pup." He said with a grin to tease me, I rolled my eyes and opened the door while rubbing my eyes and fixing my hair.

Opens the door,

"Yes..?"

It was Jason, "H-Hey, Kaida." He greeted me with a smile. "Good morning." He said nervously and rubbed the back of his head, "Oh hey, it's you! What are you doing here at this time?" I asked, "O-Oh just paying a visit." He smiled and blushed slightly, I snickered and blushed as well then stepped to the side so he could step in. "Nice house, Kaida." He complemented and sat down on the couch, "Thanks. It's my Uncle's." I said and sat next to him on the couch.

"Sorry to wake you up this early... I was just walking by and I thought 'Hey why not pay her a visit'?" He stated and smiled at me. "Oh no, no its alright." I said and blushed again "It's nice to get some visits once in a while..." I whispered.

Uncle Elrick stands behind us and pats our heads with both his hands, "Sooo, Are you two enjoying each other's company?" He asked jokingly, Jason tensed up in surprise. "Y-Yes sir!" He replied nervously, "There's nothing to be nervous about, Kid!" He said and ruffled his hair, "Alright, Kay, I'll just head out to get some new equipment for my hunt tomorrow. My dang bow broke from yesterday." He said.

I nodded and got up to get his horse, "Alright, Keep safe okay?" I told him, He nodded and smiled at me. "Yes ma'am." He said jokingly and pretended to salute. "I'll be back maybe by noon okay?" He pats my head and nuzzled my forehead, I nuzzled back and wagged my tail "Alright uncle El." I said as he got on his horse and headed off to the black smith's shop all the way to the other side of the kingdom but I'm sure he might need some extra stuff on the way there.

Jason got up and tapped my shoulder, "Here...I know you like these." He handed me a bouquet of Plumed Celosia flowers, the flowers where the kingdom's name came from, "Aw! T-Thanks. I love it..." I said shyly with a slight tint of red on my face..The flowers looked like little flames when in a field altogether, "I'm glad you do." He smiled at me, "Would you like to walk outside for some fresh air with me?" He asked.

I hid half of my face behind the bouquet, "S-Sure! I would love to!" I replied to his invitation, "Alright!" He cheered and smiled with a little blush on his face, I thought to myself in my head, "Aw..he's...cute...".

After I got ready and dressed, Jason and I walked out of the house and strolled around the kingdom, We went to a little fair and played a few games then rode horses around for fun and to the fields where we sat down together under a tree and watched the sky. "Aw look! That one looks like a little horse!" He said and pointed a little horse-shaped cloud as we lay down on a little blanket big for us on the grass while the tree shaded us from the sun, I giggled and looked up at it "It does! Nice eye!" I complimented him.

Jason chuckled, "Thanks! My eyes are really really sharp, do you want to know why?" He asked. I tilted my head and swayed my tail side to side slowly. "Hm? Sure, Why?" He smiled and placed his finger on my chin "Because I saw the one and only beautiful girl out of all the girls in the kingdom." He said softly. My face immediately turns red from what he said and my heart started to beat quick

"W-Wow...He sure is slick at that."

I said to myself in my head, I giggled and covered my face and my tail started to go crazy, "Oh s-stop it!" I shyly and pretended to hit his chest lightly. He laughed and tucks some hair behind my ear and cupped my cheek, "Whaaat? It's true anyway." He said with a soft smile and a strong blush in his face.

My eyes lid up and nuzzled into his touch on my face, "Aw...Y-You're very sweet." I said and snuggled into him, "Only for you..." He whispered and hugged me, I buried my head into his chest and wagged my tail. I then looked up at him, "Hey, Jason...?" I called him with a small and curious tone in my voice, "Hm? What's up?" He asked, "D-Do you think I'm weird...?" I asked the tall and seemingly handsome guy.

"What? No, of course not! Why would you think that?" He asked after he replied to my question gently, "Nothing...People talk..." He puts his finger on my chin again and gently pulled my head up so I could look at him, "Don't listen to them okay? You are perfect just the way you are even if you're half Moon Hound, human, or anything. You're perfect exactly the way you are."

I blushed and smiled. "T-Thanks...At least someone thinks that way towards me..." I said silently then buried my face into his chest again. "Kaida...I have something to tell you.." He said to get my attention again. Not going to lie I did have a little bit of feelings for him like when I was Fourteen years old but it just dropped and became annoyance and maybe this isn't so bad or He isn't so bad. I looked up at him, "Hm?" I hummed curiously, "I-" His sentence got cut off by an old man running toward us.

"H-Help! Please!" He yelled while he was being chased. "Huh? Sir, are you okay?!" Jason asked while panicking. The fields were pretty much outside the whole kingdom so we were alone until the man asked for help. The mysterious man then looked at Jason. "Hurry, Child! T-There isn't much time!" He pleaded "O-OH! U-UH!" Jason froze not knowing what to do. The man then looked at me and limped towards me, "Y-You! Promise me you will take care of this!" the man stated at me.

I looked very confused as to what he was talking about and what i should take care of, "Huh? W-What is it?!" I asked the man. He then panted and looked back as some unfamiliar knights rode horses towards us, "Answer!! Hurry, Child!!" He yelled and Jason tried to distract the knights from getting any closer. "Y-Yes?!" I just spat out the answer I thought he wanted me to say but I was nowhere near ready. He grabbed my right arm. "This is a burden, child! but this will also help you! Keep it and make it your own!" He said to me but I was still confused... My arm started to burn up on the spot where he tightly gripped.

He looked at me with his eyes glowing in the color of flames, "W-What the..." I said at what I saw and looked at my arm. "W-What are you doing?!" I panicked and mark in the form of flames appeared on my arm. I was speechless as to what just happened to me. From what I see the man was surrounded in flames, "This power is no joke Child. you must treat it with respect. The road to mastering the flame itself will be hard but you can get through it. You will however face extraordinary enemies in the future. Good luck to you, Child." The man said and the flames around him lifted itself and headed towards me.

"W-What?!" I said confused while Jason ran around quickly. The flames started to enter my body, My mind, My soul, and the Flame mark on my arm. Alchemy symbol of fire...It didn't hurt or burn at all I just felt an incredible force take over a part of me.

When the flames disappeared, I felt incredibly dizzy, "E-Eugh..." I wobbled to keep my balance. But the man was gone as if he had disappeared into thin air. When I was about to fall already Jason caught me just in time, "K-Kaida?!" He yelled in panic while I was trying to keep my eyes open, "Kaida come on don't joke! Kaida!" He tapped my cheek but I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and faded out of consciousness.
