Chapter 2: BODY

Davina had thought she'd had died, there was no way for her to have survived a stab wound. Not with no one to help her and no enough pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding.

Opening her eyes she was blinded by the sudden light, groaning in protest as she covered her eyes.

She was alive?

She was alive!

Getting up the blonde finally opened her eyes, realising she was sitting on a bed, in an unfamiliar room.

"…Eh?"

Blinking in confusion she got up, realising her whole body screamed in pain she glanced down. Her eyes widening at the sight.

"…"

"…"

"…Where are my boobs?"

Patting down her chest and stomach she was beyond confused. Even when she had built muscle she still had breasts, matter of fact, she was much more muscular than she looked now.

Looking around the room frantically she saw a doorway leading to a bathroom. She immediately ran towards it, stopping in front of the bathroom mirror.

With her mouth agape she couldn't help but curse, "What the fuck!?"

Staring back at her in the mirror was not Davina, it was some boy she had ever seen before. Her once blue eyes were now a caramelised brown, her once blonde long hair was now cut short and suddenly brunette. Her womanly features were gone and replaced with those of a pubescent boy.

"What kind of hell is this!?"

Stretching the face, pulling the hair, poking the slightly muscular abdomen. She felt everything, she felt pain. She was in disbelief that this was now her body. It was utterly impossible and bizarre for something like this to happen.

But it happened.

Once Davina had calmed down she decided to see what she could find in the boys room. She rummaged through the draws of the desk and managed to find what looked like a journal. Opening it up she was glad to see diary entries, depicting how that certain day went.

Reading through the many entries she came to find out that the boys name was Yuri, currently seventeen and attending a school Davina was familiar with,

Prospect High.

A really well known high school at that. One you could only get in for amazing grades or money.

Plain and simply; rich kids go there.

And as Davina looked around the room and went through his things, she deducted that Yuri was a rich kid.

Unfortunately with further inspection on Yuris body she found bruises and evidence of being beaten.

"This kid…"

She continued going through the entries until she got to the most recent ones.

Staring in sadness, she felt pity for the boy.

He's being bullied, and not just simply bullying where they call you names or make fun of you. He was being assaulted physically.

Davina couldn't help but pull her face up in disgust,

"Scary. Teenagers these days sure are scary." She huffed, an entry at the very back of the journal catching her eye.

This was more than scary.

Yuri was a track field star, he wanted to get into university through a sports scholarship and wanted to become a well known runner. Unfortunately when he got to Grade 10, his right knee was injured and he's never able to run like he could ever again.

That in itself is haunting, but in the entry Davina read. It stated that the bullies were responsible for his injury, they maliciously took his future away from him and by the looks of it they didn't even pay.

Davina didn't have to be Yuri to be furious, it was such a heart wrenching thing for the poor boy to have gone through. But him being a runner explained why his body was in good shape, even if the injury happened a year ago.

Looking down to the right side of the body, she flexed the muscles and brought the leg up and down to see how the joint felt. Surprisingly there was no pain, no evidence of an injury to be found.

She lifted up the pyjama pants and looked to the knee, muttering in surprise, "Weird…he said there was a horrendous scar."

Just in case she looked at the other knee but still no scar. She was wondering if maybe it had already disappeared but the entry wasn't from to long ago and he had gotten the surgery a year ago. Scars don't disappear out of thin air.

'Hmmmm well, I'm just glad I don't have to suffer with an injury' She thought to herself.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a ring tone, the music blaring out the speakers of the phone that was sat on the desk. Hesitant Davina picked it up, reading the caller ID and seeing that Yuris mother was calling.

She inhaled deeply before pressing the green button and putting the phone to her ear. "Hello?"

"Oh Yuri you finally picked up!"

The woman's voice over the phone was full of deep relief and warmth that reminded Davina of her own mother…

The mother she was never going to see…

"Yuri?"

Snapped out of her thoughts she responded, "Oh yes hi mom."

It was slightly awkward to address the woman as so but she had to do so as to not arouse any suspicion.

"You sound stiff my boy, what's wrong? I'm just calling to see how you're doing. I'm still worried about you living alone, even if it's been a year already."

Well this was good information to learn.

"Oh I'm fine don't worry, and really. I can take care of myself…" Davina was reminded of her many conversations with her own mother that always played out like that.

"Alright, that's good. I hope your ready for school, you're going to be in grade 11 this year!"

As the conversation continued Davina could tell the mother was caring for her son but seemed to be unaware of the bullying and what really happened to his knee.

"Is there anything you need?"

Looking down at the body she had to now call her own she hummed in response.

"There is actually."
