Glossary

I just wanted to make a glossary for Bullets & Spells because this story will expand and it might get confusing. Think of this as an impromptu FAQ. I'll update it as we go along.

Characters

Hollyhock: a non-magical human being who kills other human beings for money. A member of the Bay Leaves, she's racked up a lot of kills for her organization: earning her a prolific style for assassination. Like many of the Bay Leaves, she's an orphan of the streets and sees this job as paying back Tamara who raised them. After being double crossed she's setting on a path of vengeance and she'll stop at nothing to get it. She believes she doesn't know how to love. A real 20-something year old.

Hazel: a witch from the hidden town of IronHenge where magic is the norm. She came to Oleander City on a whim with no real plan or direction. Wanting to see anything new or interesting is more important than her general safety. Despite her whimsical nature, she's quite self-assured, cocky almost. She's very intrigued by Hollyhock. She might be hiding something.

Larkspur: another member of the Bay Leaves. Non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. Every bit the seasoned killer that Hollyhock is, a reliable partner when she isn't suspecting them of betraying her. Doesn't like Holly's jokes.

Tamara: the leader of the Bay Leaves, only a few things are known about her even by her closest associates. A tremendously driven and violent woman, she takes any measures necessary to complete a job. She's a master of many weapons, both ranged and close but prefers her unique pair of brass knuckles which is a mix of the two. Underestimating her will ultimately lead to your death. Short-stack.

Places

Oleander City: the crime-riddled corrupted city where our story begins. It has a high murder rate and the Bay Leaves aren't helping the statistics. On the west coast of America. Police are largely ineffective and crooked to the core.

IronHenge: a town hidden by magic, where all manner of supernatural creatures exist. Old-fashioned and strict traditions have stagnated this place making it too boring for Hazel.

Organizations

Bay Leaves: assassins that operate within and near Oleander City. If the price is right they'll kill anyone. They're the closest thing Holly has to a family.

Dead-Nettles: Smugglers for drugs and human trafficking, this gang deals in the vilest of pleasures. One of them seems to have declared war on Hollyhock and the Bay Leaves; they should know better.
