10 Concerned For A Friend

When Shawna arrived home dead at night she was in for the beating of her life. She violently cracked a classmate's skull on her second day of resuming school and she arrived home way too late. Shawna's mother went for her boxing gloves and taught her daughter the meaning of pain. Punching her in the face, the gut, the side and even upper cutting her to the chin.

Ethan cheered for Shawna as she tried to dodge or block some of her mother's swift punches. "You are too focused on one thing"

Shawna was unexpectedly kicked to the knee causing her to fall flat on the floor. Her mother then continued to beat her senseless for what she has done. "You tarnished the school's name! You disrespectfully barged out of the principal's office! You went to a late night concert! If you have a death wish just tell me" Shawna's mother screamed.

Shawna's step-dad watched and had drank a cup of tea as his wife beat up her daughter. Ethan begged for Shawna to be spared and for that one reason Shawna was left conscious. After all that pummeling Shawna went straight to her room with Ethan right behind her. Ethan closed the door behind him and sighed. "If you did what you did then that guy must have deserved it. Mom knows that as a fact" Ethan said certainly.

"Explain why she beat me then" Shawna said upsettingly.

"You already know. She can't treat you like how she treats me. Deep down you and I always knew that my father ruined everything for you" Ethan said shedding some tears. Shawna hugged her little brother and grinned "Well it is what it is Ethan. I didn't regret what I did today. No matter how many punches and kicks I got I wouldn't have regretted a thing hehehe"

"Glad to hear it. Whenever someone tries to bully you teach them pain" Ethan smiled.

"Something hit me when I watched mom brutally beating you. She used to be a boxer in the underground championships. She watch boxing matches almost every night before she goes to bed and I saw her stare at boxing equipment a bunch of times when we go out shopping" Ethan said.

"So?" Shawna asked.

"Bond with Mom by boxing that's what I was thinking. Ask her to teach you one of these days and see how it goes. I can tell mom doesn't hate you, how could she? She gave birth to you after all" Said Ethan.

"We'll see about that. Thanks Ethan, you've always tried to ease my family affairs. I'm thankful I don't have a bad brother" Shawna said happily. Ethan squeezed Shawna tightly aching her entire body. That night Shawna thought about the armed men that kidnapped Cj. They were originally just acting but it turned out to be real. "The longer I let those guys roam free Cj's life will be endangered. I can't have that. It finally feels like I have good friends like Terry" Shawna thought. She took a good night's rest recovering from the beating she received.

The next morning Shawna sat beside Ethan and watched the morning news. "The CEO of Cruez's Path Ronald Cruez is still missing and the culprit for his son's murder is still out there in the open".

Shawna laughed at the fact no one has found Ronald's body yet. "Will he ever be seen? There must be a limit to how long he can be invisible for" Shawna thought. The morning news went on to say "A teenage boy was found dead in an abandoned truck" Shawna's heart began beating faster and louder waiting for the name of the boy. "Could it be CJ?" Shawna thought.

"Please god no" She begged.

"The boy is Henry Kyle; it is a tragedy to lose such a promising child".

Shawna calmed down once she heard the name and started trembling. "Today's Saturday, I should visit him" Shawna said worriedly. "I should visit Cj today" Shawna thought. She used her house telephone and gave Cj a call.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

"Yow" Cj greeted.

"Morning its Shawna. Can we meet up at the R.A Library please" Shawna said politely. Cj replied "Fine I was going to be there anyways. I visit there on Saturdays". Shawna was delighted to hear his response and hung up. "He sounds fine" Shawna sighed in relief.

Shawna asked her mother's permission before leaving the house. After her mother told her no she exited the house neglecting what she just heard. "Why must I constantly make trouble for me and my mother" Shawna smiled at the thought. When she arrived at the library Cj wasn't there. She waited upstairs and took a seat near the windows. During her long wait she started to read a random book about torture. "The Eye is a precious body part. The moment you lose one of them you will value the other eye more than any other body part. Most victims with one eye give up information quickly once their one remaining eye is threatened' Shawna read. "Is this true?" She wondered. She paused the reading and went to the bathroom. In the bathroom were two familiar faces waiting for her. Her classmates Suzie and Rachel were also in the bathroom putting on makeup. Once Shawna saw them she felt like turning around but it was too late.

"Shawna!" Rachel called.

"Oh my! I didn't know that witch comes to the library" Suzie stated.

Rachel slapped Suzie upside the head and said "Sorry Shawna she doesn't know manners. Don't hurt her okay. She's an idiot". "Rachel, the class captain. She's never picked on me before but I can't say we are close in the slightest" Shawna thought. Rachel and Suzie left the bathroom leaving Shawna by herself. When Shawna came back to her seat she saw Cj reading the book she left on the table. "Ways to Torture" Cj read out loud.
