1 Awakening

"Get up now mister, you're gonna be late to school!" His mother said to Shin Long, who got up with a start, throwing on the raggedy clothes he has been wearing for the past week.

Having no time for breakfast, he jumps down the stairs, and dashes out the door. At least that's what he wanted to do, until a wooden sword is swung horizontally at his head, time slows down allowing him to narrowly dodge the sword by bending his body backwards, using his momentum to carry his body forward.

Shin turned his head to view his attacker, and he saw David Long, shin's father. "Lesson #25" said Shin's father, closing his eyes and readying the blade in front of him.

"Expect the unexpected!!" Both Shin and David at the same time, David suddenly opened his eyes lunging at Shin. But he was prepared for the attack, and shifted his body to the right, and using his knee to hit the blade out of his father's hand, grabbing the hilt in midair he points the sword a few inches from David's neck.

With the blade In his hand Shin smirked "did I pass your test?" David closed his eyes and sighed. "If you chose to study as a knight, you could have reached Grand Blade in ten years". "I'll tell you for the thousandth time, it's my destiny to be a Gunslinger" he lowered the sword stabbing the tip in the ground, and walking away in the direction of Golden Bullet Academy, the opposite way to silver sword Academy.
