23 Title Adapter?

As Key watched Ford cause a big commotion with the Rainfall tribe, he took the time to calm down a little. When he spoke earlier, he didn't have any serious plans to murder Jagger. If he were ever to give such an order, he would leave it to Donn.

His real goal was to humiliate the tribe and seriously injury Jagger as he was the leader. After all, only tribe leaders would have the final say on what actions the tribe members would take. If Jagger weren't a black-hearted person, his tribe members wouldn't dare to be cruel either.

Still, when he took everything in, he couldn't help but be disappointed. Not only was he disappointed by the Rainfall tribe, but he was also disappointed by the other tribes as well. He was sure the giant wolf spider had told them the purpose of everyone grouping together near the Divine Door.

And yet, nobody made a move to stop the violence by the Rainfall tribe. Did humans have to be so divided that being suppressed by other creatures wasn't enough? Furthermore, there was the reaction to the animal pelts his group came back wearing.

Other than looking at something new and strange, the reactions to the pelts were mild. Did the people not understand what an animal was? Or did he guess wrong about giant animals roaming around? If so, it made sense.

The only big animal they saw so far was the giant polar bear. Even then, the size wasn't as enormous as they would expect after seeing the size of the grass and giant insects. If the animal pelts couldn't install fear into the tribes, he could only try the fire method.

Noticing that Ford was starting to run loose on the Rainfall tribe, Key turned his attention to Black and Donn who was carrying the supplies for making a fire. From the beginning, their primary goal was still to have the tribes serve under their Hill tribe willingly.

Under force and violence, achieving this goal would be the fastest. However, these designs would cause problems in the future, and he didn't have the time to waste fixing them later. Instead, the method he preferred was to give the tribes hope.

He would give them hope that grouping together and forming a united village, would help stop the oppression from the Queen. In time, they would even be able to end her ruling altogether. But these types of tribes wouldn't agree unless they experienced something of absolutism.

This is why, since he didn't have enough strength to influence them with, he would use an absolute of pure intellect. He would convince them that knowledge was power in itself. With it, fire could be made.

With it, sturdy homes could be built. Superior weapons compare to the enemy's could be forged. Even making what seem impossible, become possible, could be achieved through knowledge.

Of course, his back up plan would be strength. He had already learned earlier in his life that there would always be people not convince unless force was shown. Coming to his decision, he addressed Black and Donn. "Hand me the materials to make a fire. I don't want to drag this on any longer than necessary since we have less than a month before the wolf spider shows up."

Black readily complied while Donn frowned before shoving over the supplies of different sizes of wood. Key ignored Donn's unhappiness of probably ruining his chance to fight, and took the tinder Black gave to get started.

Ford had no idea his fun was coming to a close soon as he pressed his foot on top of his third victim's head. He then gave a smug look to the tribe leader Jagger as he stepped harder on the tribesman's head. "Why are you coming one at a time? And you! Are you a pu*sy? Get you a*s over here so I can break you." He taunted.

"To correct your attitude when addressing a chieftain, it seems I will have to let Sticker have a go at you later." Jagger said, replying to Ford's vulgar words. Hearing the comeback, Ford made a strange and weird face. Sticker? Was that his name or nickname? And did he just implied what he thought?

With insane thoughts and misunderstandings, Ford's face turned into rage as his eyes saw red. He would definitely put this guy in his place if it were the last thing he did. "Okay smarta*s! Not only will I p*ss on you, but I'm also going to make your woman craved it for life!" He shouted and raged.

The group of students that heard Jagger's words also had appalling face expressions as they gave Ford sympathy looks. Feeling the looks hitting his back, Ford grew angry to the point that murder no longer seemed morbid.

Done waiting for the guy to make a move first, Ford rush at Jagger. Jagger, on the other hand, snorted before taking out a rock ax that been tied to a compacted grass stem. Its state was slightly hard but was more of a whip with a sharp rock than anything else.

Despite this crude shaped weapon, Jagger still had the speed and power of a two-star Adapter. Using his strength and weapon advantage, he swung the ax at Ford's torso while its motion traveled upward to aim at his head as well.

But could an attack that was direct and clear, hit Ford head-on? Not even a surprise attack from a failed three-star beast could completely connect its attack when he was a one-star Adapter, so how could an average two-star Adapter's offense do better now?

The image of the ax was easily caught by his retina as his sensory showed the improvement that came with being a two-star Adapter. Ford soon took his own actions by kicking at Jagger's hand while targeting the fingers as he reached out to grab hold of the moving ax by its shaft.

Crack!

Jagger's fingers wrapped around the ax broke, forcing him to let go of the weapon and watch as Ford seized it to be used for himself helplessly. "Haha! Man, you are easy! You had me going when you were talking about that sticker guy, but now?! Maybe you should kneel and let him 'correct' you!" He taunted.

Watching the one-sided display of power left the weaker tribes with only two-star Adapters feeling agitated. Since when did the Hill tribe become strong? Was that the new tribe leader?

As for the stronger tribes, it was nothing more than a child's scrimmage. Nothing was amazing about the sight of two weaklings trying to measure who was better. "Boss?" A man covered in green stains of tribal markings asked. "Leave it be. It's too early to take control." The tribe leader answered.

"Is this your warrior's pride? To disgrace another warrior when the two are doing battle? Do you believe such behavior shouldn't be corrected?" Jagger refuted. Ford only moved forward to finish the job. "Pride? Wasn't you hitting girls a few days ago? You know what? Don't answer. I'm going to take the hand you used. After that, you can preach about pride."

Just as he steeled himself to cut off another man's hand, a scream was let loose. "Waaaaaaah!!" Cried a few tribespeoples as a raging smoke and flames came to life by the Hill tribe's space. "What?! Why are you crying?! I didn't even whack you yet!" Ford exclaimed, having jumped from the sudden noise.

"I'm a warrior. The sound didn't come from me." Jagger shot back. With the group of tribes watching the flames increase, Key stood before the raging fire. Seeing this, the man with tribal markings looked to his leader again.

However, the tribe leader had an astonished look on his face as he murmured a sentence. "To think a small tribe would have a titled Adapter."
