22 The Superspeck/Arrogant Ford Sterling

Ford saw Key step forward. Did this freak want to steal his spotlight? If so, there would be nothing he could do. He had already accepted the fact that the three youths who went to the Evolver World with him were freaks.

It was something he had found hard to accept in the beginning, but now he had no complaints. When he first arrived in the unknown place, he was insisted on believing all of the things happening were nothing more than a nightmare he needed to wake up from.

Later, he quickly woke up to reality when he felt the threat of dying by the first giant bug he saw. Even more, after he understood his predicament, the old man told them that they could be strong like the Hulk, Hercules, or Superman.

That fear of the unknown then turned to excitement at the thought of the astounding powers he would get. He could finally be what he always wanted to be. The best! If he were the best, everyone would know the name, Ford Sterling. With this claim, he would be able to grab all the attention he craved.

But attention was only second to what he liked the most. What he preferred the most was the look of amazement on other people's face when they looked at him. It didn't matter whether it was games, sports, and academics, or even drama like singing, dancing, and acting.

As long as he was the best, he would accept it. Sadly, he wasn't good at any of these things. Furthermore, he was more disappointed when he became the fifth person in their group of nine to pass the Divine Door test the fastest.

That was four people better than him. How could his target be that far away? But now, he understood. He was comparing himself to freaks and monsters. It was only natural for the goal to be far. And he could tell it was getting closer.

The other three was already two-star Adapters within days, but it didn't matter so much now because he also became a two-star Adapter after killing the last beast in the Evolver World. And to prove to himself and the rest that he wasn't any weaker, the Rainfall tribe would be an excellent stepping stone.

After all, if it wasn't those three freaks, anybody else on the same power level was trash!

"Wait Key! If you make a move now, you might really kill them. Remember, these are potential allies. Once more, others are watching. You can't be seen as the bad guy, or it will make it harder to accept you as the leader. This is what you told us, remember?! Just sit back and let us handle the problem. Besides, the leader isn't supposed to be the first to act anyways." Black reminded Key.

Ford seeing the situation smirked. Good! He would be able to do his thing now. "Ford, are you sure you can handle Jagger alone? We can't be seen as weak, and I want payback for what they did to the others." Black asked.

"Shut up and leave it to the fool. None of them are worth fighting." Donn said, growing annoyed by the delay to see a show. Hopefully, the stronger ones would make a fuss. "I'm not a fool! Idiot! And I'm more than enough to put them in their place. Besides, it's just a group of trash hitting girls. They should feel honored to be put in their place by me." Ford stated arrogantly.

Ending the conversation there, Ford made his move to go to the Rainfall tribe's area but was stopped by Key. "Ford..." Key spoke before giving a pause. Donn had nothing on how cold Key's current voice was. And it was the words that left his mouth next that surprised the others. "Jagger isn't needed."

These simple words could be taken in many different ways, but it was clear what he meant. If Ford crippled or killed Jagger, neither mattered. Of course, Ford had never killed a person before, and he wasn't sure he could do it now either.

Therefore, he was left with only one choice. He would cripple the Rainfall tribe's leader to set an example to the other tribes. Without being cruel, one couldn't stay at the top in the law of the jungle type of mindset world.

Ford quickly stood before the Rainfall tribe's camp. "Hey! I want all the mother f****** that dare hit my people to get the f*** out now! You can all come at me together! I will put you all in your place!" He shouted.

He didn't bother to knock on doors or kick them in. It was much more relaxed and more natural to have them rush out together to show how much force was needed to hope in stopping him. If he rushed inside, the other people wouldn't get to see him in action.

In the back, Black dragged his hand across his face. Did the idiot know his limit? What if they where all Adapters? Has he even fought a group before? Or did the idiot think fighting groups didn't change things?

Ford watched on eagerly as the Rainfall tribe really rushed out like their lives depended on it. After filing out of the green houses, the tribe leader Jagger stepped to the front. "Boy, do you think I will spare you because Wicked Mick command us too? As long as everybody keeps their mouths shut, he will never know what I do to you." He threatened before he nodded his head to one of his subordinates.

A tall and robust man that looked like he could lift and bench press huge trees stepped forward. The leaf garments he wore seemed to be caked in a hard substance that was acting like armor and covering his whole body. Only his neck, hands, arms, and head were excluded.

Instead of being brown skinned as one would expect from the man's given nationality, his skin was genuinely black and dark as the color could become which made his lips stand out because they were a pale peach color.

There was nothing in the man's hands as he gripped them and let off loud thunderous cracks like the strike of lightning raging out.

Despite this show of intimidation, Ford didn't care. He instead, moved forward with a thug like posture and face, with his hands stuffed in his pockets to try and give a more menacing look and swung his foot out once he reached close enough in range.

Bam!

The big man did not fly away. If anything, his body curled around Ford's foot and leg, before he continued the position on the floor while holding onto his stomach. "See that! That is where you belong! As for the rest of you b******, if you kneel down and apologize, I might be willing to forgive you after p****** over you."

On the side, Black couldn't help getting angry. The idiot was acting entirely too arrogant!
