24 Establishing Unity

Key stood in the middle with Black to his right and Donn to his left. In front was a fire that seemed to grow as tall as the grass stems. Surveilling the people before him, Key cleared his throat. "Tribe brethren and sistren! What do you make of this?! Can anyone explain what this is?!" Key shouted to the people.

Nobody said anything. Having spent years under the ruling of a creature with the strength of a titled Adapter, those who saw and knew one didn't have the slightest expression of happiness. For those who didn't know, confusion and fear gripped their beings.

None among the tribes were strong enough to compete with such strength. If they could, they would probably have started a rebellion ages ago. The only thing another being that strong meant was that they would have to serve under them regardless of whether they wished to or not.

The tribe leader Haydn with tribal markings choice this moment to speak up after losing his shock. "You have become a Title Adapter right?!" He spoke loudly with his voice traveling across the area to reach Key and the others.

Key was moderately shocked at the misunderstanding but shook his head in the negative. He didn't come to build a connection based off lies. What he needed were true allies. If the others didn't agree, they would be free to leave because he lacked the strength to shelter potential flight risks at the time.

"No! This is not the power of a titled Adapter! What you all see before you is the power of knowledge! It is the greatest power all specks are born with to overcome our adversaries. This is fire and can be taught to everybody as well! Furthermore, to prove to everyone that knowledge is the greatest power to us specks, in seven days, I will develop a solution to make everybody an Adapter!" He promised.

"In those seven days, if you listen to all my commands, when the time passes you can decide to join the Hill tribe, work under the Hill tribe, or leave! I will not force you to stay nor will I hinder you from becoming an Adapter when the time comes!" He continued to promise.

This speech had the crowd break into an outrage between a disagreement and agreement. What Key was promising was too good to be true. Naturally Key had his reasons why he wanted so many people to become an Adapter despite the chance of them not working with him in the future.

"Rest assured! You have nothing to lose to this agreement since we are being threatened to work together or be exterminated! At least if we unite and become stronger, we will have some fighting chance against the Queen and her insects! Or is there anyone still confused that the Queen wants to step through the Divine Door?!" Key questioned.

If the Queen honestly found a way to pass through the Divine Door, her potential and power would increase. It would be the same as cutting off their chance of ever escaping her rule. "Lies! You would have to be a Divine Being to make that happen!" Someone in the crowd yelled.

Key looked in that direction for a moment before turning his eyes to the whole crowd. "Whether I'm lying or not will become clear in seven days! But, before that! This isn't just about my Hill tribe! Don't you feel tired of the suppression?! What about living in fear of the Queen?! Then there is only one thing to do! We must all unite if we want to live! The fire is proof! We specks have unlimited potential! Establishing a place for specks and raising our strength to surpass the Queen's is only a matter of time! We are humans! Do we have rivals?!" He shouted out to the tribes.

Silence greeted the area once again. Even the group of students where stun by Key's outburst. His words were filled with such firm conviction that it left others doubting it to be an opinion. Instead, it caused one to believe his words to be facts.

Watching him right there before the tribes, made his figure seem majestic. Even with what he said not being anything special, a strong charisma was on display, attracting all to notice him. It caused them to see someone of nobility, a person in which was born to be above the rest while only being look up too.

Some even had the impression they were seeing someone who would lead and conquer the world. And bringing the specks to the top as the strongest species.

Soon, someone in the crowd could no longer hold their excitement. The goal and ambition was something every speck should stand by according to their thoughts. "I'm willing to follow you Chief! Let me join the Hill tribe Chief!" They shouted.

All it took was one person before the rest began to wake from their stupor as they joined in the yelling and shouting. "Me too! Chief!"

"Me too!"

"Chief! Don't forget me!"

With a realization, someone cried out in urgency. "Wait! If we are making this place our home, what will it be called?!" They asked confused. Key only smiled. He had not thought much on a name, but a fitting name had already screamed out to him.

"This place shall be a village for us specks. A place where our paths to greatness and freedom shall open. Giving all of us, a new beginning and a fresh start." Key began to say, making sure to be loud and clear. As for the tribespeople, they were glued to his every word.

Nobody wanted to miss it because it felt like something astonishing was happening right before their eyes. Even the Rainfall tribe was being affected by this unknown spell Key had placed on everyone.

"Openspring Village. A name to express that our paths are unhindered, and our lives are starting a new." Key said calmly. He did not shout these words. And yet, all still heard them. With the following of his words, the crowd chanted their own words.

"Long live the Chief!"

"Long live Openspring Village!"

This chant became deafening as the tribespeople grew louder than ever.

Key watched on. They could only move forward because there was no longer a need to let others step on them.
