12 Existence Is Pain!

After I woke up the next day, I cooked packet noodles that I have inside the fridge. I then checked my tablet if there's anything that concerns me, no notifications or whatsoever. I checked the tower map if there's anything amiss the construction just to be sure, again none. I also checked if anything's amiss within the tower vicinity, none. Well everything seems to be going perfectly well might as well go ahead and take the medicine.

But before I do so, I made sure to be in optical mental condition. Okay I seems to have no lewd thoughts for the time being which is nice. Everything seems fine now. I then took the medicine and lie down on my bed. After five minutes I experienced excruciating ache all over my body and everything went blank.

I then opened my eyes, it seems more or less 12 hours has passed. Ugh, everything ache within my body. I stood up and stretched my body and did light exercise to get accustomed to my new strength. After a few minutes of warming up I checked my bed it seems that there's some blood near my head pillow, it seems I did something while I was being strengthened by the medicine. I then went to the bathroom to check my body, from my reflection it seems that I've bitten my lips and it may be the reason of blood on my head pillow. My skin have become fair, my eyesight is now better than yesterday without glasses. It seems that I've also lose weight and somehow my muscles have become toned and lean. If it was this easy to lose weight and look good even with the one day of pain a lot of people will accept it.

After checking everything with my body I took shower and pre-heat some ready to eat meal and check my tablet if there's something I need to take care of, but to my surprise it scanned my whole body with the camera in the front.

Surprised with this new update with the tablet, I checked the new icons that showed up; status, inventory and internet. With the new updates in mind I immediately check the status.

WOOH! Wasn't expecting that I have skill this obscure! I mean, I can understand things regarding technology since I graduated with a bachelor's degree in IT, but assimilate? Combine with the host' body? Will that make me a cyborg? Is there something that I don't get here? In theory I can be immortal if I can assimilate enough technological/mechanical parts with my body but that will make me a bona fide robot which I don't like.

Hmm let's leave that Technomancer thingy for future, older me to bother. Now let me check the inventory … what a surprise, empty UI, I was expecting something to show up for a moment there.

Stored things doesn't add weight to the device, the storage app acts as a pocket dimension/reality. Can be upgrade with the Technomancer level.*

Okay so basically I now have two ways to store away things; storage app and storage ring. I can first store things to my tablet then store my tablet into the storage ring … hahaha what a fool proof plan.

Okay let's go with the last thing added by the update, the internet seems straightforward but where do I connect to? But it shows that I'm connected to the internet already and the Wi-Fi signal is full.

Okay that sounds good! If I can connect to earth's Internet that would be awesome! I can still read and watch the manga and shows that I've left behind.

Uhm yeah I wasn't going to contact them anyway so it doesn't sting that much. Let me check the new manga releases since I died. I then spent few hours binge reading manga and watching anime, heck I even forgot to eat. While reading the latest chapter of Goblin Slayer a message from kim popped up.

'Here's the comparison sheet that I've told you about, this will explain most things to you within the union.' Attached to it is a document which stated as follows.

Credits- Take it as it is, the more of it the better. Save credits as much as possible since the Union provides us with most of our basic needs.

Day/Night Cycle- Technically we don't have day/night cycle since in most reality we have, it's controlled by magic and technology.

Time format- We don't have it either but the most widely recognize time format within the union is 36 hours which is derived home planet of the union 'Ishval' that also have 36 hours.

Month Cycle- The accepted month cycle of the union is 10 month which is again derived from the Ishvalian month cycle. Each month has 25 days except Goemon and bakya. Goemon has 31 and Bakya has 35.

Geni, Jun, Ming, Lun, Mari, Posa, Chen, Goemon, Rochek, Bakya.

Those are the 10 months in order.

The months are named after the 10 founding mothers/fathers.

Geni the strongest of the group and de facto leader. A pugilist.

Jun, Geni's bestfriend/rival. Another pugilist.

Ming and Lun are Wolf BeastMen brothers who are experts in guerilla warfare. Hunter and Tamer respectively.

Mari and Posa are twin fairy sisters, the former is proficient in offensive magic the latter is healing/supportive magic.

Chen is a dragon, the strategist of the group. He maybe a strategist but he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Goemon is a tech-wizard. He is a rumored Technomancer level 20.

Rochek is an Elven assassin, proficient in both dual wielding daggers and bow.

Bakya is a Lizard BeastMan vanguard with his tower shield and heavy armor.

They waged wars against different kingdom and nations within the Ishvalian planet to unify the people. After they conquered the planet, they ruled it as the 'Council of 10' or so it seems, but even before the dust of war settled they came into a realization that the life/death balance of Ishval had gone haywire due to decades of war they themselves instigated. The natural law of the planet caused massive catastrophe that dwarfs the war they had started, to save everything they fought for Goemon created a device that could theoretically create a pocket dimension to save the residents of the planet but it will need astronomical energy consumption. Geni and Jun made the decision to sacrifice the 3rd of the resources they have to start up the pocket dimension.

After living in the pocket dimension for unknown time, Mari and Posa developed a new type of magic that incorporates the device of Goemon. After so many trial and errors they've manage to create a reality of their own making. Now the reality itself is double the size of their original planet and half of this reality is now the headquarters of the Union or so the legends says.

Take the story with a grain of salt since not all of the story components are trust worthy, but that should give you the general lore of the foundation of the Union.

After reading everything that the documents whole, I then checked the Union home page from the internet and they also have same introduction on how the union came to be.

Since I have nothing else to do with the tablet I checked again my status in the tablet. With my Technomancer ability I can basically assimilate the tablet into me and have the functions of it ingrained to my body and consciousness. I then also started thinking if I should go with the earpiece so I don't have to remember to wear it all the time. And with that I tried to activate my Technomancer abilities by whispering it but it didn't work, tried shouting it still didn't work.

I then took out the tablet from my storage ring and shouted, "Assimilate tablet to user!"
