11 Edgar's Parish

After we left Office Central! Wooh just gotta add that exclamation point at the end. "Now that we have finished that one is there any place you want to check out next? You've mention that you want to check out things from your previous reality right? Do still want to go and see those things out?" Kim asked me while we we're wandering around the mall.

"Well, I did say I want to see the things from my reality since they have my favorite beer and I'd want to eat some spaghetti to ease my nerves." After I told Kim where I would like to go next she snapped her fingers, "Great I'm getting hungry too and since I've been your guide here in the mall you ought to treat a fair lady such as myself to a high class establishment." She then hugged my arms tightly … oh man such softness. "Great! Then let's go to McDonalds since I did say I want spaghetti!" After I said that she immediately let go of my hand and stared me coldly, "Really? You're going to treat me to a fastfood?"

"Well yeah? They have spaghetti and I feel like giving myself a Big Mac to feed my appetite. Come on!" I then urged her to the teleportation array, after we teleported we then walked for 10 minutes before we get to a McDonald's branch, ordered our food and I paid for it which is quite cheap only costing 50 credits. After we got our food and sat down near the entrance, as we we're eating I asked her where I will stay for the time being since my tower is still being built.

"Well since you're a new employee you can stay at a hotel and have the office pay for the charges or wait at the office so we could assign you a place to permanently stay. Yes you heard me, you'll have to wait till we assign you a house." She told me that as she was chewing her food. "Uhm I think it would be better if I get my permanent place to stay so I could have some privacy." "Then after this we should head back to the office and introduce you to the other staff of our section while we get you a place to stay, how about that?"

"Sure let us get over it so I could sleep as soon as possible." Then we finish our foods and went to the teleportation array outside the mall. "By the way remember the coordinates of our office, its 101081328, it will send you just outside our office. There'll be a lot of coordinates you'll have to remember but since you can just have your secretary note it done for you it will be a piece of cake. Let me make a quick phone call so by the time we got to the office all you have to do is sign over some papers, even though the place you'll have only have bare necessities such as basic kitchen equipment/utensils, appliances and single bed" After she said that I waited in the front of the teleportation array while she makes some phone calls.

"Yup all settled now. So for starters try to put the coordinates in the monitor and then enter it after that it will take about 3 seconds to teleport us." I tried what she instructed me to do and got it in one try! After the teleportation what I saw before me is a giant rectangular building and to be honest I can't see the highest height of and it seems that the top is surrounded by clouds. "Okay not bad the next coordinates you have to remember is our section department its 04191994."

We then enter building where I see several people walking to and fro, after that went straight ahead to a teleporter inside. "So basically we don't have elevators since it's not as efficient as this teleportation arrays that we have." I then entered the coordinates of our section on the monitor.

What I saw after the teleportation is a see through office with about 20 people working inside. As we enter the office some people look curiously at and smiled back at them. At the back of the office I saw a room and Kim led me inside where I saw a serious looking elf that has over-arching scar over his left eye, his hair color is emerald green, checking some documents on his table, from the looks of it he didn't noticed us entering the room.

"*Cough Cough* Ahem Chief Edgar we're here." The man looked towards us and smiled. "Good you guys are finally here, we're already checking for a place you could stay is there any specific thing you want with the place you're going to stay with? If so we'll do our best to meet your requirements but it'll also take a lot more time for you to have a place to stay." He then walked towards me and we shook hands.

"Uhh no I don't have any requirement for the place to stay in, as long as it have the basic necessities to live in then I'm fine with it." He then slapped my back.

"Hi! My name is Edgar Flamel, I'm the Head honcho of this section as of today you will be under me. You may be asking what do our section does. We keep balance in a couple of dozens reality and within those realities are thousands of intelligent civilizations. What balance? Balance of life and death my friend, if there's too much death life can't flourish and if there's too much life catastrophe will happen. Too many mouths to feed with little amount of food to go around, destructive civilizations that wage war every so often that causes extinction of other races and most often than not destruction upon themselves. Our section is one of the hundreds do this kind of work in the union."

"Now you maybe asking why can we not just intervene directly? Well my friend there are multiverse laws that doesn't allow us to intervene directly lest will be annihilated by the multiverse itself, yes we have technological and magical power to at least minimize the damage but we can only use it as a trump card hence we follow the laws. Those laws aren't written in a book or stone somewhere, the union learned it the hard way eons ago. That is why we strictly adhere by the rules."

"Now, the place you will be staying have the coordinates 365-E, we already loaded the place everything you need; food, furniture and appliances. Since the logistics already sent you the Level 10 pill you now have a safe place consume the said pill and it will roughly take a day for you to fully absorb the nutrients. Since the team is not complete it would be a waste of time to introduce you to them, we will welcome you officially once the team is complete."

After that he opened the door and motioned for us to get out. After we got out of the office I heave a sigh of relief since I can now have a place to sleep. "Hey! Since we're done here it's better to go our separate ways and I will also give you comparison sheet between your old life and this new one. By the way make sure you're not hungry before you take the pill and make sure you have a clear state of mind so it won't hurt so much when you go through the pain." Kim promptly reminded me. "Only you and people you authorize can enter your house so don't worry about your safety while being tortured the medicine."

"Uhm thanks for the reminder." I made a light bow towards Kim. "So it will take 6 more days for your tower to be finished, after getting to level 10 make sure to adapt to your new found strength immediately but since you will have about 5 days to get used to it I'm not that worried about it. So wait for about two days and I will send you the sheet that I've mention." After she said that we then head to the teleportation array and she head out first.

After she left, I immediately typed in my new place. What I saw after the teleportation is a Spartan style furniture system, everything is minimally designed, white colored walls, bed for one, table for small family of 4, the Fridge is filled to the brim with food that I know. Wide bathroom still with minimalist design. The wardrobe is just filled with shirts that's a close fit for me, enough to move around in comfort, pants and shorts still white though, boxers and brief that is most likely close fit to me. 'Kind of creepy that they know my sizes'.

I then take a quick bath and sleep for the day.
