1 A Note From the Author

Hello and welcome to my novel. You can call me Dramora J. Framei. I need to warn you, the following story is not for people who wish to stay innocent. If you insist on reading further... Don't blame me if my absolutely twisted mind permanently scars you. Also, if you are easily offended by comments about religion... well please find another book to read. I have absolutely nothing against any religions. But I don't personally agree with all aspects of most religions. I'm not exactly an athias since I believe in a higher power. On the other hand, my beliefs don't fit in any current religions as far as I am aware.

Chapter 1.)

"I'm sooooooo bored," I complain as I lean my head against the cool glass of the RV's window. Me and my father are on our way to our new house. We've been on the road for the last two days. My father recently got promoted to a district manager of some sort of large business group. He doesn't talk about his work... apparently he had to sign a nondisclosure contract with the company when he was originally hired. That was three years ago.

"For the last time, quit complaining. I told you to make sure that you had enough to keep yourself busy for at least two days. Besides, we're almost to the town. Just a few more minutes." My father fails to hide the annoyance in his usually calm and relaxed voice. The long drive seems to be getting to my father as well.

"I brought more than enough books and games to last three days, but I can't focus on my games with the noise of the traffic, and I keep getting nauseous when I try to read the books." I exclaim irritabily. I could feel my anger rising. Of course, the anger wasn't because of my father, it was directed towards myself for not anticipating the distraction and nausea.

As if he sensed my feelings, he placed his right hand on my head while keeping his left on the wheel. He chuckled as he said, "You know, you try so hard to do everything correctly, but your bad habit of not looking at the bigger picture always gets in the way of your success. Do you remember the family motto?" My father looked at me expectantly.

I sighed and then laughed as I repeated the motto that has been passed down through my family since before recorded history, "To compare yourself to perfection is to compare yourself to a lie. Perfection is the height of arrogance, since perfection would make you a God. And not even then would you be perfect for the creations of God aren't perfect. Perfection can only create perfection, just as chaos can only make more chaos." I smile proudly due to the fact that I finally managed to successfully recite the entire motto without a single mistake.

"Very good Mathew, you spoke with confidence and conviction. I can tell that you have been studying very hard lately. Of course, with your Ceramony coming up in just under a month, you will need to be as prepared as possible if you wish to be recognized by the Elders as an heir to the family." My father's voice was kind, but serious.

My family is a extremely old and respected one. Historians have traced our roots as far back as recorded history can go. and even then, the writings tell of how the family has been around as long as anyone can remember. DNA wise, our family can be traced back at least seventy generations before recorded history. There was at least one member of the family in every single governing body throughout history. That includes present day.

"Oh, would you look at that," My father smiled as we passed a sign along the side of the road that reads 'Welcome to Star Falls, Population 1,000' "This is the town. Do you want to stop at a restaurant before we head to the new house?" My father asks while looking around the small town.

"As long as it's not fast food." I say. As we drive down Main Street I look for somewhere that we can stop to eat. An old medium sized building with a sign reading 'Moonlight Cafe' catches my attention. I point at the restaurant as I say, "Why don't we check that place out?" My father smiles and turns into the parking lot.
