4 Chapter 4

The camp was bustling with soldiers having their breakfast and preparing to go towards Qohor in the morning. It took the soldiers less than an hour to eat breakfast and gather their belongings, and once they were done, they packed up the camp and placed the tents and other items into a carriage that Greg had purchased to transport any excess equipment and camp supplies.

Greg and his mercenaries went to Qohor to see the Maester and prepare for the city's defense once everything was ready.

While traveling, Greg and Aleanna discussed what they would do once the battle was over, and Greg suggested that they start making a name for themselves in the world, and he had a plan for doing so, which was to buy a building in Qohor and turn it into a Brewery, where they would be able to make some of the best alcohol from Earth and sell it, all while maintaining their mercenary status to make even more money.

Aleanna agreed with the proposal after some contemplation and even suggested that after their brewery became well-known, they should expand to other cities to make even more money. Greg agreed, and after the war was done, he would put his plan into action.

Greg's party arrived in front of Qohor after 4 hours of travel, where they were welcomed and taken to the Maester's location after being identified as mercenaries.

Greg had inquired about the Maester's identity while on his way to see him. The Guard informed Greg that the Maester known as Arello Eranios was the most powerful and wealthy Maester in Qohor, having a great deal of authority and influence. He was known for being a humble and kind Maester to people who had power or something of value but not to those who were worthless.

Listening to the Guard Greg could guess that Maester Arello was someone who would appear kind and humble in person but under that facade was someone who was hungry for power and would exploit others to achieve what they wanted. Greg would be wary of Maester Arello since he didn't know the Maester and because he was in Game of Thrones where a person will do anything to attain power while toppling over those beneath them.

Putting those concerns aside, Greg arrived in front of Maester Arello's home, where he would meet with the Maester and assist in the city's defense.

The Maester's unsullied escorted Greg and two Spartans into the manor while the others waited outside. As he proceeded into the mansion, he was struck by how many unsullied guarded the property and how impressive the building was.

Greg lost track of time while observing the mansion and found himself in front of the Maester's room. The accompanying guards knocked on the door, and after receiving confirmation to enter, Greg was allowed to enter the chamber, while the Spartans were forced to wait outside.

Greg noticed an older-looking man in his 50s seated in a chair reading something on a piece of paper shortly after entering the room. When the old guy glanced up from his newspaper, he welcomed Greg.

"Hello there, there you are, the Mercenary commander I heard about who had the two tall, muscular soldiers in unusual bronze armor," Maester Arello questioned.

"Yes, I've come today to meet you and inform you that I've brought my troops for the city's defense," Greg stated, attempting to get right to the point.

"Straight to business huh," Maester Arello said, but he wasn't surprised because the only reason mercenary groups came to Qohor was for the money or for the fame they would earn by protecting the city.

"Well, I'll have you and your men stationed on the formation's side, along with another mercenary group and some unsullied, and after the combat is finished, your prize will be 20,000 Gold Honors if you survive the fight," Maester Arello explained.

Greg had talked with the Maester a little more after hearing the reward and where they would be placed, and even learned that the Dothraki Khan visits Qohor every few years, and usually, the Maesters will give the Khan some form of tribute to keep them from attacking the city, but this time the Maesters didn't want to give the savage group their wealth, so the Dothraki left to return with an army. The Maesters, on the other hand, were unconcerned because they believed that if they hired more mercenaries and purchased additional unsullied, they would be able to protect the city.

When Greg heard the cause for the attack, he assumed that the Maesters were just being smug and didn't realize how dangerous the Dothraki might be. Greg went with his mercenaries to make camp along the wall with the rest of the mercenaries after a brief conversation with the Maester.
