8 The Gods and Religions of Balo part 3

Religion and faith are the same but can be different. Religion is the belief in the idea of what the god may or may not represent, but not always in God. Vice versa, faith is the belief in the god or goddess, not always in the written religious artifact.

The same can hold true in the world of Hemthos. In Balo there are thirty religions, in this chapter we will discuss only the three most prevalent religions. These three major religions span across multiple races in large numbers.

Divinity, Children of the Martyr, and

(because I can't think of a better name) Creed of the Damned. And as with any religion, religions tend to have religious artifacts, such as books and heirlooms. For those who are Followers of Divinity, their artifacts are, The Chronicles of the Gods. Which is actually a collection of books, detailing the system put in place by the upper and middle Gods. Lower or lesser gods are not allowed a book. And the Codice of the Divine, which is just one book. Which is for the Upper Gods.

The Children of the Martyr all follow the Testament of Sacrifice, a very thin book, but what they lack in reading material they more than make up for in artifacts. The feathers of Sareash himself, with only 101 feathers remaining, these wish granting items are so powerful that they are considered quasi-divine artifacts.

And finally for those who believe in damnation, there is the Scroll of the Three Fallen. Despite being one religion, there are three separate groups those that follow the Zombie Banshee Mawri, the Ebony Ghoul, and the God-Demon Lich Aekvad. Those that specifically worship Aekvad can be seperated even further into another three classes, those who believe only in the demonic side or the Godly side of Aekvad, and those who believe in the whole of The God-Demon aspect of the Lich Aekvad.
