17 The guild system?? Pt.2

Bruce understood the function of the guild was likely the most important part of his system. But this wasn't a fantasy world where the concept of the guild was common so the closest thing to it would likely be a mercenary company of a sort.

When Suki asked him today about what he wanted to do after his job was over, he seriously had no clue about it. Suffering was the last thing he wanted to do, but it wasn't like he could go do a boring 9-5 job when his life could be much more.

And even if he wanted to do so, it wasn't possible after all, he didn't even go to a school in this world, so murdering was the only thing he could put in his CV besides suspicious home-schooling.

So building his own mercenary company seemed like a good choice, he could still get quests and earn money. And being the leader of a private company he wouldn't fall into doing evil deeds on someone else's order.

The question of how to do it was another thing, but even further than that, there was a question about his would-be guild members.

Gathering members was easier said than done because just picking off any random chap from the street wouldn't be enough. It wasn't that the system wouldn't accept them, it was just useless for him to find anyone random, earn their trust and make them stronger.

Not only would it be time-consuming, but he didn't have any patience to teach someone useless and turn them into something more just so he could have above-average teammates. So it all relied on finding the right people at the right time.

The system couldn't help if someone didn't want to follow him, so it all depended on his charisma and ability to make them do so. After all, trusting someone and wanting to follow them were two different things.

And the system's ability was not to manipulate or mind fuck the people to join and follow him like soulless robots. So not only becoming a leader was important but he had to build trust naturally with them, so they would follow him out of their own free will.

For Suki, he had a soft spot for her and he was sure that she had a driving skill which he could lend a hand in upgrading them and maybe even teach her more, so she could be a handy guild member to him.

Just having someone with such skill would be saving him a lot of trouble, after all, in the modern world driving was a necessity. And with someone with a high skill in that regard, they would be more than useful in a lot of situations.

But he didn't want to chain her, he knew better than anyone how important freedom was, so he couldn't force her to follow him. He liked her and that's was more of a reason why he wanted her to make her own choices.

But that didn't mean he couldn't accept her as a member, sure it was her own choice to follow him or not, but with such ability in hand, and for someone who helped him unlock it by showing him her trust, he didn't mind lending a helping hand when he wasn't in a disadvantage at all.

He clicked 'yes' on the system screen and her status window appeared in front of him. Her stats were quite decent for someone her size, with no attribute points and as he had suspected from the first day, she had a driving skill which was in the advanced class.

With most of the rewards in the quest for the members being so low that it was almost nonexistent unless they did something huge, it would take her a very long time to reach his strength. The main thing about the system was that it made a person's ability limitless. They could go beyond human capabilities.

But for his members, it seems the easiest way they could increase their strength was through their skill.

But unlike him, who went through hellish training and with the full accessibility of the system, they wouldn't likely be able to focus on more than a handful of skills. So they could be just on the top at one or two things at best.

Three if they worked hard enough.

With people like Thanos and god-like mutants alongside god knows what other being in this world, just a driving skill wouldn't be much but it was something of a start.

[Member accepted!]

[Skill upgrade card received!]

[Skill upgrade card is rewarded one time when a member is accepted into the guild for a jumpstart to the member. As the name suggests, the card is used to upgrade the skill of a member by a stage. The card is associated with one member only and can't be used on the user or other members.]

Bruce's lips couldn't help but twitch looking at the item, but he let it go quite soon as there was no point fussing about it.

The system didn't have a name in particular nor it could talk or answer him any question. It was a simple interface and since it looked very similar to a stat option in an RPG game, he called it a Gamer system but with the newer function, it was looking more to be a Guild system rather than a Gamer one.

Now that he thought about it, things were never that easy with the system in the first place, maybe because it wasn't meant for him to do it alone. And with how the experience and the rewards he would get from his member's hard work, it was pretty much obvious that this was how it was supposed to be from the start.

If he could use the guild function of the system to the fullest he would easily level up with no hindrance and even the possibility of becoming the strongest wouldn't be out of his reach.

Without waiting much longer, he used the skill upgrade card to upgrade Suki's driving skill from advanced to the master class. Now all he had to do was wait till tomorrow to see how much her skill has improved and watch her reaction to her changes.

"This is was a good surprise to say the least, but it's time to go do my job."

A/N:- The next comment is about how it was wrong to upgrade her skill. And how Suki is going to kill MC with her driving skill and become the next MC by driving over Thanos's head.

P.S. I am taking a break for a day or two so here's another extra chap to fill the gap.
