11 Successful Subjugation

Using the broken dagger in his right hand...Yu Jin-Ho stretched his hand far back and stomped his left foot forward. Using every bit of strength he can muster on his arm...Yu Jin-Ho threw the hilt of the dagger that possibly shattered the sound barrier.

A violent gust of wind caused by Yu Jin-Ho trickled the astonished Gye Haeun as she gazed at the D-rank Hunter on her side. Haeun then looked back at beast they are facing and went wide eyed only to see it still standing but with it's whole head completely blown off.

It seems that even without her aid...Yu Jin-Ho can handle the Crimson Fang all by himself just fine. This make Gye Haeun wonder if Yu Jin-Ho is really just a D-rank.

Words cannot describe what Gye Haeun is currently feeling. A sense of shock and amazement came clashing on her mind as her whole body shakes.

"W..what the hell was that?!"

Yu Jin-Ho didn't bother to answer Haeun as he went straight to the corpse of the Crimson Wolf he killed. As he rummages around...Jin-Ho spotted a black gem-like stone just right besides the dead beast's decapitated body.

As expecting as he is...Yu Jin-Ho asked the System in his mind...

'System...is this perhaps a mana stone?'

[Correct...and it's of highy quality]

[Does host want to absorb the mana stone]

Since he didn't want to risk of what might happen to him once he absorbs the stone...Jin-Ho postponed it for the meantime until he get back to his apartment.

A message suddenly popped up in front of Yu Jin-Ho's screen...

[Host had leveled up by 1...stats had been successfully distributed]

['Item box' had been unlocked as a new System function]

[Boss monster killed dropped an item: Dusk Blade]

Suddenly...a bladed weapon came appearing on Yu Jin-Ho's hand on thin air.

The weapon's stats were generated in the screen right after. The blade came with a pretty normal stats. It had a total attack damage of 85 added with a 3% physical penetration.

Not only that...Dusk Blade also had it's unique passive 'Corrupt'. This passive allows Yu Jin-Ho to slowly deplete the target's health upon getting cut by the blade depending on how strong the target is.

Even though the attack damage of the weapon he obtained is far less than his own stats...this came out as a very convenient one for Yu Jin-Ho as he didn't need to find a suitable weapon anymore to replace his broken one.

Although...this also further proved Yu Jin-Ho's theory to be correct. Apart from his own personal stats which are abnormally high despite his level...the other factors seems to be coordinated with his level.

Yu Jin-Ho also saw the new System's function...the Item Box.

'What can the Item Box do?'

[Host is able to store objects inside the Item Box...current max capacity is 2]

This new function came as a handy one for Yu Jin-Ho because as of this moment...Gye Haeun's briskly coming towards him.

'System...quickly store these things inside the storage box.'

As soon as Yu Jin-Ho ordered it...the blade and mana stone in his hands swiftly dissapeared and got successfully stored inside the Item Box just in time before Gye Haeun showed up.

As she peeked through...Haeun wanted to confirm whether they had truly defeated it.

"Is it really dead?"

"Yes."

With that...Haeun slowly slumped down as the danger had already been taken care of. Now she can take a breath of relief as she slowly closed her eyes to rest for a moment.

Gye Haeun can still hardly believe that she survived and moreover the fact that they had defeated the Crimson Fang with just the two of them.

A few minutes later...Dam Min-Jee together with some of the Hunters of the guild arrived ready for the worst possible scenario but to their surprise...the peril had already passed and taken care of.

All they saw were Yu Jin-Ho standing besides the corpse of the gigantic Crimson Fang and Gye Haeun who is currently sleeping due to fatigue she accumulated throughout their whole hunt.

Dam Min-Jee quickly went running towards Yu Jin-Ho to confirm what truly happened.

"What happened here...are you two okay?"

"As you can see we're fine..."

Jin-Ho wondered why there's so many Hunters present here and also Dam Min-Jee as well.

"What are you all doing here?"

"We presume that the boss monster inside this dungeon in this dungeon had possibly reached A-rank so we came to assist."

"You don't say..."

Dam Min-Jee was truly ashamed of how her subordinates acted. Not only did they leave a comrade behind...they also potentially risked the life of so many civilians outside.

"I'm truly sorry for this!"

With her head bowed down...Dam Min-Jee sincerely apologized towards Yu Jin-Ho and is willing to take full responsibility for her subordinate's actions.

"It's fine..."

All that said...Yu Jin-Ho couldn't care nonetheless as he accomplished what he came inside the dungeon for and that is to obtain a mana stone. Yu Jin-Ho's level also increased and he also gained the Item Box...furthermore, the boss monster dropped a pretty hefty weapon so it's somewhat all on Yu Jin-Ho's favor to be honest.

Before it slipped her mind...Dam Min Jee wanted to know whether if Yu Jin-Ho was the one who subjugated the boss monster as she knew Gye Haeun can't possibly have the ability to do so.

"Are you the one who killed the Crimson Fang?"

"...Yes."

Since there is no need to hide it from Min-Jee...Yu Jin-Ho admits that he is the one responsible for it but what he requested next had taken Dam Min-Jee aback...

"I want you to appoint that girl over there as the one who killed the boss monster."

Yu Jin-Ho pointed out at the still asleep Gye Haeun.

"B-but why?"

The feat of defeating an A-rank boss monster almost single handedly can surely give Yu Jin-Ho a leap on his rank. With this accomplishment...the D-rank Hunter can immediately rise up to two ranks or possibly even three and from Dam Min-Jee's own evaluation, Jin-Ho is now more than eligible to be appointed as an S-rank.

Nevertheless...Yu Jin-Ho's couldn't care less about all that fame and rank. Besides...who would even believe that a low ranked Hunter such as himself can even take on a monster of that caliber and come out victorious. The lie that Gye Haeun was the one who killed the Crimson Fang is more believable.

Without wanting to argue anymore...Dam Min-Jee agreed with Yu Jin-Ho's request to fabricate his involvement on this chaotic raid.
