10 In Search of a Mana Stone II

Gye Haeun was about to retreat when she saw Yu-Jin Ho advancing forward towards the giant wolf in front of them.

"What are you doing you idiot?!"

She quickly tried to pull Jin-Ho away by his arm but the misogynist Hunter instictively evaded. This confused Gye Haeun as she tried to do it one more time. The same result happened with Yu Jin-Ho again avoiding her grasp.

By this time...the monster already took the opportunity to pounce on them.

With the two Hunters having great reflexes...they eluded just in time before the ginormous wolf had hit them both but Haeun sprained her left leg in the process.

The enormous beast further continued it's attack as it hurled some of it's toxins to the unsuspecting Hunters. Due to her sprained leg...Gye Haeun didn't have time to evade the deadly attack coming her way. Luckily for Haeun...Yu Jin-Ho pulled her by the bag she's carrying on her back just in time before the toxin made contact.

Unfortunately...Gye Haeun loosened her grip on her rifle in the process causing for Haeun go let it go. The rifle dissolved immediately under the highly dangerous toxin the monster had just spewed out.

"Thank you...you saved me..."

Yu Jin-Ho told Haeun not to be relieved just yet as the fight had only just began. Gye Haeun was puzzled by what Yu Jin-Ho had just uttered.

"We're not running?!"

"If we run out from this...just think of what this monster can do once it get's out."

With this one sentence...Yu Jin-Ho made his point. Gye Haeun understood that a huge tragedy will occur once this beast roamed out in the outside world and many people will surely die. As her duty as a Hunter...Haeun resolved herself to stop this monster at all cost.

To prepare for a such a seemingly one sided fight...Gye Haeun took out two of of her spare pistols inside her bag. Using these pistols...Haeun began a barrage of shots to the Crimson Fang.

Yu Jin-Ho also made his move as he also equipped his dagger and struck the beast. Due to the Crimson Fang having such tough skin...it resulted to Jin-Ho's dagger to shatter upon contact.

As Yu Jin-Ho's blade got wrecked...the beast counter attacked by scraping him with it's super sharp claws. Yu Jin-Ho received the full blow of it and caused him to crash into a nearby wall. The boss monsters attack chipped away a bit of Jin-Ho's HP.

Gye Haeun quickly rushed for Jin-Ho's aid. After the dusts cleared out...there is dent in the wall and Yu Jin-Ho can be seen with a huge cut on his shirt where the beast had attacked him.

Upon seeing how Yi Jin-Ho is fairing...Haeun was shocked to see that the Crimson Fang's attack had only minimally injured the D-rank's body.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes...I just didn't expect that monster to be fast despite it's large size..."

At this time...Hu Joon and the other associating Hunters had already been successfull in escaping out of the dungeon leaving only Gye Haeun and Yu Jin-Ho behind.

They then went back to the guild to report about the matter. When Dam Min-Jee heard of this...she got so angry she punched Hu Joon painfully in the gut. Not only did they leave the other two Hunters to to resist the boss monster by themselves...they also made the risk of the said monster to potentially cause havoc once it gets outside.

By what the returning Hunters had described the boss monster in their B-rank raid...Dam Min-Jee was sure that the Crimson Fang this time had already reached A-rank. Although rare...there are occasions where a boss monster with a specific rank can evolve into a much higher ranking.

If Dam Min-Jee's speculation is spot on...then Jin-Ho and Haeun need assistance as soon as pissible. To subjugate an A-rank monster...there at least requires one S-rank Hunter on a raiding team. Though Min Jee is confident in Yu Jin-Ho's fighting prowess...she's still in doubt that Jin-Ho can successfully pull this off with just a single marksman by his side.

With that said...Dam Min-Jee set out herself together with some of her guild's elites to help the other two Hunters. Hu Joon's group on the other hand got detained for running away on their duty as Hunters. If ever there would be human casualties...Hu Joon and the other Hunters who fled will be stripped of their licence and can never work as a Hunter again.

Now that Yu Jin-Ho is weaponless...he had no choice but to confront the beast barehanded. Jin-Ho then asked Gye Haeun to assist him in the rear. Gye Haeun was not sure of this idea...seeing as she's two ranks higher than Yu Jin-Ho, she's supposed to be the one to lead.

"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?"

"Tell me...have your shot dealt any damage to that puppy over there at all?"

This time...Haeun can't argue as it's true. With all the fires that she made...not even one had dealt any considerable damage much less hurting the boss monster at all.

Without any more chit chat...Yu Jin-Ho dashed towards the beast with his fists clenched. As he was advancing...the Crimson Fang noticed and hurled out some of it's toxins again. With his enhanced agility...Yu Jin-Ho easily avoided and proceeded with a kick in the side of the jaw of the giant monster.

Yu Jin-Ho just kept going for the offensive for a few more times until the Crimson Fang had been greatly weakened.

Even with it's seemingly high defense...the giant wolf still felt the sheer force of Yu Jin-Ho's attacks as it staggered on it's feet and almost passed out.

Gye Haeun was shocked to see just how strong Yu Jin-Ho truly is to be able to deal that much damage to the beast that even she barely scratched.

After Yu Jin-Ho landed a decisive hit...he retreated back and told Gye Haeun to aim at the monster's eyes or inside it's mouth since it's the most vulnerable part of the wolf's body. Haeun did just as Yu Jin-Ho had told her and shot both of the beast's eyes. The now blind Crimson Fang roared in pain as it charged towards the two Hunters.

Although blind...the giant wolf still had it's potent sense of smell so it easily located both of them. It went into frenzy and rushed to Yu Jin-Ho at full speed.

By that time...Gye Haeun poured every ounce of her remaining mana inside her pistol for one final shot and threw it to Jin-Ho.

"Fire at it's head..."

Yu Jin-Ho caught the pistol and aimed it directly at the Crimson Fang's forehead. Upon firing the last shot...the pistol is at it's wits end broke after discharging a huge amount of mana.

That shot seemed to have worked as the giant wolf's head started to bleed...but the wound isn't deep enough as the heavily injured Crimson Fang charged again at full might.

Upon seeing the wound on the beast's forehead...Yu Jin-Ho had a stupid idea and brought out the hilt of his broken dagger.
