1 Entering a new perilous world

Lights off. Curtain closed. Door sealed. The room almost functioned as a separate entity from everything else. As he flicked the switch the machine roared to life, brightness invaded the room but soon it returned to darkness. 'Hello, Welcome to Reincarnation please make a name and a family name, note the name will change with each subsequent character however the family name will remain and is of outmost importance' The boy was not shocked at the interface in front of him and calmly entered Daniel as his name and Hatchid as his family name. As if life was given to the machine the landscape in front of Daniel immediately changed transforming into a luscious green plain. Once again, the perky but cute female voice rang in his ears 'Welcome to Reincarnation you have been spawned near un-owned land, whether you build up your nation here or go out and adventure is up to you but note without a successor you risk losing everything' Daniel first made sure he could move properly and after he was satisfied, he let in a deep breath. Clean air quickly rushed into his nose and through his body to his lungs, he felt relaxed and joyful to finally be able to experience this new game. Reincarnation has been in Daniel's mind since he saw the Kickstarter for it and since all that time ago it has grown to be the most anticipated game in history boasting an abundance of features and things to do. Being the first to donate to the game the company allowed Daniel to play it a week before anyone else as a gift for having faith in them and supporting them from the start when no one else did. The main idea of this game however unlike others is not the progression of a single character but the progression of your family and its rise to supremacy. While you control a single character you only have one life, but you can retain your progression by saving your stats in a tomb and then your successor can inherit your old character's power meaning as you play more and more characters you start with more and more power all the while you go on adventures or those who prefer to live peacefully can build up a kingdom. Daniel planned to create the strongest Kingdom in the game which meant he had to create the strongest family and build the strongest foundation, having studied the game meticulously and being a big fan of strategy games, which allow him to conquer the world this was the path Daniel wanted to take. The path of a mighty king whose words can bring down a God. Looking around Daniel decided this was a good place to begin a wide open hilly plain, but he could hear the bustling activity of a powerful river and could see mountains to the north which would act as a good defence from invasions, as well as a wide forest to the south, Daniel was rather confident that the sea is not that far either. With a mere thought Daniel opened the status menu and upon realizing he starts with some basic tools and clothes he opens the map and marks this location. Soon more and more players would join the game and Daniel had to be stronger than them when they arrived, so he swiftly followed the river upstream in hope of discovering a village or town.

After following the river for a length of time Daniel arrived at what seemed to be an outpost town likely the frontier of a much stronger and bigger NPC nation although NPCs are almost no different from real players and are extremely difficult to tell apart. Approaching the town gate Daniel is stopped and is approached by a man shouting at him "Hey you how did you escape the drafting? Did we forget to count some of the farmers? Never mind that quickly take some gear from the box by the gate and catch up with the reinforcements they only left a few moments ago!" Without even being able to respond the guard dragged Daniel to the box and practically shoved the gear to his hands all the while pushing him away to make his rush towards the troops. Seeing no way to not get involved Daniel decided to catch up the troops and see what is going on. 'Mission started: Assault on the transcended' Whats this? As soon as I joined the troops a mission triggered. Wait…. What is this!? Daniel's emerald eyes were wide open in shock, before him stood a massive army of five hundred thousand marching towards the mountains, realising if he ran he would be cut down for deserting Daniel decided to take his chances and try and live through whatever battle was about to go down.

"Medic! Help we need a medic!" A man with an arm torn off was screaming for help while holding someone who was cut clean in half. The being who did this was too strong for the troops. Despite having ten thousand soldiers they were being beaten by a single entity, a being above all others. "Hold! Reinforcements will arrive soon!" Everyone held onto the hope that help would come and slay the creature who was ripping through them like vegetables. All sort of sword skills was displayed, all sort of mages fired off their rounds, yet it was all mute in front of the creature they were fighting. What should have been a reconnaissance has turned into a slaughter. A slaughter of a ten thousand men army which was supported by a thousand of the kingdom's elite. None could last more than 3 seconds in front of this perfect monster of slaughter. Down to two thousand men and no more than 4 hours has passed; every remaining soldier is holding onto the sliver of hope of reinforcements able to overcome this beast. The mad menacing monstrosity. The Angel which stood before them has become something of nightmares.

As if their prayers were answered a large rift of space opened and a 500k army marched valiantly through staring down the beast they were sent to slay. The Angel hastily stopped in her rampage at this army and slowly began muttering under the wind. Each syllable which rushed out of her mouth resulted in a large golden construct being built behind her; the sky dimmed into a redder shade and the construct of mind magic shined golden bright as if it was a miniature sun representing her halo. The 500k army stood beneath her and the commander shouted "Fire!" as if this was a command from hell both sides launched their attack. While thousands of arrows and magical attacked whizzed towards the Angel, her golden construct exploded, golden rays going everywhere. As she was bombarded by the attacks from the army, she fell from the sky landing on her knees but despite this a small grin crept onto her bloody face as over one hundred and fifty thousand (150k) people dropped to the ground squirming in pain. In a last-ditch effort, she launched herself into the army with her hand pointing forward like a blade. Daniel stood there; eyes aghast at the horrific site but he was soon swept out of his confusion when he saw that demon approaching him, her hand pointed forward however to him it was a deadly blade. Having no experience in the game yet still fearing for his life he rose his sword up and held it straight towards the rapidly approaching monster. Daniel quickly shut his eyes tight hoping for the best then a small ping rang in his ears [You have levelled up] slowly opening his eyes he saw the Angels hand only centimetres away from his throat yet his sword had pierced her heart; her face was still smiling with a trail of blood running down her. Daniel couldn't comprehend what happened but when he finally believed he was safe it felt like his conscious was being ripped away from his body. With no power to hold his eyelids up they once again closed. "Boy what is your name?" Not being able to see Daniel heard a voice yet those very words carried a pressure that was suffocating to Daniel. "I will not ask again, what is your name boy?" The voice once again returned this time the pressure was even worse, Daniel felt like his bones were being crushed hoping a reply would get rid of the pressure he quickly replied "Daniel Hatchid." Silence. The voice made no immediate comment, it seemed as if it was in deep thought. "That is not a name I know of. How can such a weak pitiful being like you defeat an Angel representing the Second God of Light Esme? I will offer you a choice. I offer you power to change the world. What do you say?"

"What kind of power?"

"I offer you the path of a monster. Every being who is not a human, elf or dwarf and few other humanoid races count as monsters. Special beings which can have extraordinary power. Of course, I can only offer you the lowest level but with time you can evolve and gain unique powers and organs making you unstoppable. In fact, even the Gods count as monsters. The path of a monster is the path to become a God!" Daniel mind quickly thought of what this could mean for him, being one of the first people to play the game and for such an opportunity to present itself seems too good to be true. If he could have the power of that angel even if he had to wait to get that powerful, he could easily build up his family and raise a kingdom. "I will accept." With those words the pressure was instantly released, and the voice of the machine chirped into Daniel's ears [Are you sure? Note: Monsters start with double the stats then humans but only gain 5 instead of 10 points of level up.] Yes, I am sure. [Character reset to level one, unlocked monster evolution paths and options.] "Good luck." Just as Daniel almost regained his sight the voice of that mysterious being chimed into his ears.
