9 Chapter 9 - Fake Truth

"Why. Why is this constantly happening to me? What the hell did I do to deserve this..." Yuuki thought as Jimin's disgusted eyes bored into her. He then turned away from her and walked out, stopping in the doorway only to say, "Don't talk to me anymore." He muttered venomously, continuing to walk and leaving Yuuki there, alone. Yuuki was so traumatised from yet another person accusing her of murder her knees buckled and she dropped to the floor, tears silently streaming down her face. No one heard her. No one came for her. She stayed there alone.

"How dare she play the innocent card." Jimin said under his breath. For the rest of the day he was angry. In his lessons with Yuuki he didn't even look at her as she looked down with empty eyes. Those eyes. The eyes that were once so full of life and joy and innocence had all their beauty sapped away from them, only an empty void remained. Despite this, Jimin didn't feel an ounce of pity for her. Once school had finished, he headed to the samurai school to vent some of his frustrations out when he stopped as he walked in. He saw a woman speaking to the man at the reception, she appeared to be quite down and resembled Yuuki. He walked a bit closer to hear them when his eyes widened as he heard, "...yes, that's my daughter, Konno Yuuki. I would like regular updates on how she is doing, please. I've been worried for her performance ever since there was an incident back in Japan..." he heard her mother say in a hushed whisper. Once she had finished discussing Yuuki with the man, she walked towards the exit. Jimin could not help himself, he walked up to Yuuki's mother and stared at her angrily. Her mothers eyes widened with shock.

"How... how can you live with yourself when you know you your daughter is a murderer? She killed her own brother!!" Jimin yelled, incredibly angry. Yuuki's mothers eyes changed with understanding, then anger.

"Don't... don't you dare call my daughter a murderer. You don't know anything about what really happened, you just read fake tabloids and news articles slandering my daughter. You say she's the bad one when you're worse for believing anything you hear. Tell me, does my daughter really seem like the type to murder her own twin brother?" Yuuki's mother yelled back.

"... I don't know, I barely know the girl." Jimin fired back, even though he started doubting himself.

"My point exactly. In fact, if you so truly wish to know what happened, come with me." Her mother said firmly, walking out of the building. Jimin looked longingly at the image of two katanas crossing then sighed and followed her.

They arrived at a nearby cafe and sat down. Yuuki's mother ordered them some drinks and sat back in her seat.

"Ah, so you're the reason my daughter is this distraught, I see. Firstly, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Konno Asuna. However, I have a feeling you know that is not my real name so I shall be honest. My name is Kirigaya Asuna and as you correctly guessed, I am Yuuki's mother. I would like to say now that I was present at the time of the accident, but I know my daughter did not murder her brother purposely. I also know that it's because of people like you who constantly misjudge people and Juno to conclusions that she hates herself, and has fallen deep into depression. I do not care for your excuses, but I want you to know now if you continue harassing my daughter, yes she has told me of this, I will contact your school." She says angrily. Jimin silently nodded his head and Asuna took a deep breath and began.

"It was an accident and I know it was. From the small bits I managed to get out of Yuuki, she said that her brother saved her. I believe that she was about to fall from the balcony but he saved her and ended up falling instead. You see, Yuuki was always overshadowed by her brother, Kaito, and she hated it. Her brother used to be No.1 samurai but he didn't really enjoy it, whereas Yuuki had a genuine passion for it but she was second best. I am fairly sure that they got into a fight and then... the accident happened. But I know for sure that she was framed, I bet it was one of the girls from her old school who bullied her. My daughter, Yuuki, would never do that." Her mother said, voice full of sorrow.

"H-holy crap, I am so, SO sorry for the way I treated Yuuki. Even the way I spoke to you, I apologise sincerely. I... I had no idea it was a lie. I didn't know that so many people lied and bullied her..." Jimin said, incredibly sorry for his actions.

"I... I am willing to forgive you. I don't expect you to befriend my daughter again but... please at least be civil with her. If you could befriend her then, it would make both me and her incredibly happy. So please, remember what I have told you today." Her mother said softly, drinking her drink.

"I will happily be friends with her again. I want to be by her side, especially since I was so cruel to her." Jimin said confidently.

"Heh, I can tell you are a good person at heart. I look forward to our next meeting. For now, I must go. Have a nice evening." She said politely and bowed. Jimin stood up and bowed too, then when she left he finished his drink silently, feeling horrible for his actions towards Yuuki.
