6 Chapter 6 - Guilt

The sun was shining too bright for it to be a good day. Yuuki walked the front door yet again and she walked into the room she grew to hate. She sat down next to the lifeless body of her brother, Kaito. She felt the familiar guilt rising up in her chest as she looked at her brother with deep sorrow reflecting in her brown eyes. Every since that day, she had felt incredibly guilty. Those usually bright and familiar eyes were delicately shut and had not been opened for months. The guilt haunted her like a poltergeist, she could feel the remorse weigh her heart down. Every breath that he took was a stab to her heart. Every beep of the machine was like her life force being sucked out of her. She felt as if she was constantly crying but her eyes were dry; she had drained all her tears for the day. Her eyes envisioned the image of Kaito falling five stories down, it felt as if that samurai blade she was so used to practising with had now pierced her whole heart and sliced it in half. The pain of it was agonising, she grabbed his hand gently and looked at him sadly, with every ragged breath he took in slowly chipping away at her.

And she hated the guilt.
