4 Chapter 4 - Blades Cross

"W-what!?" Jimin exclaimed, shocked by this sudden announcement. He was about to protest when Yuuki nodded.

"... very well then." She said quietly. Everyone around them started whispering among eachother and sizing them up. It would be a very interesting spar, both Jimin and Yuuki were incredibly skilled and were renowned to be experienced fighters. Jimin was confident in his skills however what worried him was Yuuki's calmness about the situation. Those bright and innocent eyes were deceiving, they were now calm. But that brightness still shone behind them.

"All right. I agree to this spar as well." Jimin said as everyone was shocked and moved back wards to give them space. They both walked to the front to grab a wooden katana and walked to the middle. They bowed to eachother. Jimin had immediately felt intimidated by her presence, she had a very good fighting stance but what intimidated him the most was her eyes. They were completely emotionless, the only emotion reflecting in her eyes was her determination. However intimidating she was, Jimin was confident in his skills. He was the best in his class and some said the best in his samurai school. There was no way that he could lose.

"You may... begin!" The instructor shouted. They both moved so fast the rest of the people did not see them. They locked blades so quickly and were both very strong. To Jimin's surprise, Yuuki overpowered him and pushed her wooden katana against him with so much strength he stumbled backwards. He swiftly regained his footing and gritted his teeth; he would not be defeated by the new girl. They started incredibly quickly but Yuuki pulled a very advanced move that Jimin had never seen before and he could not predict it in time. Within seconds, he was pinned to the floor with the wooden katana blade pointing at his throat.

"Yield." Yuuki said quietly, though her words pierced his heart as if she had pierced it with a real katana. Jimin relented and yielded, they then stood up and everyone was silent for a few seconds. They then bursted into applause and congratulated Yuuki. Those piercing warrior eyes and disappeared as soon as they appeared and she smiled at everyone modestly and looked at Jimin apologetically.

"I'm sorry, Jimin. But I had to at least try, even if you've been so kind to me." She said.

"... whatever." Jimin muttered and walked to Jin. "She was basically saying she wasn't trying her hardest!? Show off." He thought to himself, angered by his quick defeat. He was one of the best warriors in his school, how could he have lost so easily? Jin patted him on the back and smiled weakly.

"You tried your best, Jimin. Don't beat yourself up over it." He said kindly, trying to comfort Jimin but his words only angered Jimin even more. The mere idea of him being beaten by Yuuki infuriated him. This was the same shy girl he met one day ago, he could not believe that she was capable of being so skilful. If this girl was capable of such strength, it meant he had to train even harder than he does now.

The instructor had just dismisses his students and Yuuki had walked up to Jimin to try and talk to him.

"Sorry, I have to go. Bye." He said roughly, walking past her abruptly.

"Oh, okay..." She said, disappointed. Yuuki walked out of the samurai school and walked home silently. She walked through her front door and entered her bedroom. She could hear her parents in conflict; they were arguing about money again. She heard their shouts crescendo and she climbed into her bed and covered her head with a pillow, silently screaming to herself for the conflict to end.

"End. End. End. Please. End. End..." her heart screamed in agony.
