Fay

Meaning: little fairy

____

Fay was delighted when she found out that she was offered a role a couple of days ago. As an actress it was important for her to engross herself in her role, so she followed her manager's advice and spent three days practising her script with no connection to the outer world whatsoever.

As soon as she came home she dragged her tired legs to her room and changed into grey shorts and threw one of Yoongi's shirts over her head. The minty smell of her husband's aftershave made her tense shoulders relax. She removed her lenses and replaced them with black-rimmed glasses.

Fay preferred wearing her grandma glasses at home rather than the contacts, but she never stepped out of the house wearing them, afraid of looking hideous. She took out her script and started to read it.

Fay puffed her cheeks as she recalled the last time, she saw her husband, it was a week ago and it was filled with heated arguments.

Fay didn't like fighting with her husband, but in the six months that they've been married Yoongi hasn't gotten one day off work and she hated it. He goes to work before she wakes up and comes back after she sleeps, which end up with her spending the nights alone. Whenever she confronts him about it, he would just blame his work and would complain about her lack of understanding. How come she was able to adapt her busy schedule to her married life and he wasn't?

She tried to concentrate on her script, but the sound of the door unlocking caught her attention. She recognized the person from his cough. Fay didn't acknowledge his presence and continued reading.

Yoongi entered the apartment his eyes landed on a curly head sitting on the sofa.

"Nice of you to finally show yourself", Yoongi scoffed, as he walked into the living room.

"Same goes to you", she mumbled without sparing him a glance.

"It's not me who hasn't been home for the past three days."

"But it's you who hasn't been here for a week right?", she finally turned to look at him. She noticed the stubble growing on his jaw and how his body got bulkier. The roots of his ash brown hair turned black and his eyes were narrowed, glaring at her.

"You've been gone for three days and I couldn't reach you no matter how many times I called", he growled, his lips twitching in anger.

"Yoongi, I left a note on the nightstand and I sent you a message telling you that I've been assigned a new role", she calmly explained to her fuming husband.

"What does a new role have to do with you not answering your phone?", he crossed his arms with a frown on his face.

"I needed some time alone to get engrossed into my new role", a tired sigh escaped her lips.

"You still didn't answer my question", Yoongi said, annoyance lacing his voice.

"I don't understand why you're making a big deal out of this?", she rolled her eyes as she went back to reading her script. She had no energy to fight with him, the stress from work has been eating her up for days.

Fay came home to relax not to add more stress to her fragile shoulders.

"Fay" Yoongi warned with his eyebrows raised.

"What?"

"Don't give me that tone."

Fay bit the inside of her cheek, trying to swallow her anger. She knew being angry would only add fuel to the fire. The fire, in this case, being Yoongi. But she found the situation completely unfair.

"Why can you disappear for a week with the excuse of working on a new song and I can't stay in the office for three days for a role?"

"Excuse me? How can you compare your work to mine?"

"Why can't I?", she pressed "At least I left you a note and a message, telling you where I was and that I won't be able to answer your calls. You on the other hand, just suddenly disappear for a week and sometimes two, without a notice. Then I'm left home alone, my mind filled with all kinds of scenarios of what could have happened to you. If I didn't ask Namjoon then I wouldn't have known where you were", she was now standing in front of him, her face mere inches away from his.

Both of them stood silently their eyes glaring at each other.

If this was a cartoon, there would be steam coming out of their ears.

"Whatever", Yoongi broke the silence as he walked to the kitchen.

Fay laughed in disbelief as she saw her husband walk away from their argument, again.

"What did I expect from you?" Whenever you're at fault you walk away."

Yoongi took water out of the fridge and gulped it down, ignoring his wife who followed him, her hands on her hips. Seconds ticked by and Yoongi still didn't say a word.

"Yoongi, please. Talk to me. I'm sick of our constant fights", she whispered, her eyes filled with frustration.

Yoongi rubbed his face, he was angry. No, he was enraged, but the thing he wanted the most right now was to jump under the covers and sleep for a whole week. He was tired and he felt a headache making its way around his head and his wife screaming at him was making everything worse.

"How about you just go back to engrossing yourself in that new role of yours, hm? You'll have your peace and I'll have mine."

If she hadn't seen his facial expression, she would've thought that he meant it well. But Yoongi's face was filled with annoyance as his tongue poked his inner cheek.

"Running away? That sounds like something you'd do."

Yoongi clenched his jaw in anger. Finally, he was about to erupt, he'd finally tell her what was running through his mind.

"Can't you just give me a break? I'm sick of this shit", Yoongi snarled as he walked out of the kitchen, his shoulder painfully bumping against hers. He went to sit on the sofa his eyes focused on the TV, but he wasn't watching whatever was airing. Yoongi was fuming in his seat.

With a sigh Fay sat on the cold kitchen floor, her head leaned on the counter as she felt her eyes glimmer with tears.

"Don't worry Fay, we'll get through this", she whispered as she tried to comfort herself.

It was known that the first year of marriage was the definition of hell. She knew all too well, but the last six months have drained all the energy from her and she didn't know if she could go on.

The tension in the air felt like acid seeping into their veins, burning everything in the process.

At times like this, the difference between their personalities was crystal clear. Fay was always true to her feelings. Confronting people and talking about the problem was her way of dealing with fights.

Yoongi was different, whenever he was angry, he'd walk away and not utter a single word for hours and sometimes days. Fay despised that, she'd rather have him get angry at her and tell her what bothered him, instead of having to walk on eggshells whenever he threw a fit.

Fay looked out of the window a tired smile formed on her face as she saw the colour of the sky turn into a majestic navy blue. The twilight sky has always comforted her, like a little magic spell between her and the skies.

"Stop pushing me!", a screech broke the silence.

"Just ring the damn bell already", another voice complained.

The bell rang and she snapped her head to Yoongi who stood up to open the door, revealing his bandmates.

A soft gasp escaped her lips as she hurried to the sink, washing the remaining sadness and frustration away. After drying her face with a towel, she walked to see the commotion.

She looked at her husband in confusion, wanting an explanation for the surprise visit but he avoided her eyes. The six boys marched into the apartment as if they owned it. Their arms were filled with plastic bags and they had big grins plastered on their faces. Fay felt a smile slowly find it's way on her lips as they bickered like children.

"Nice outfit." Jimin whistled as his eyes scanned her bare legs. Fay shot him a glare as she felt her ears heat up. Jimin never missed a chance to flirt with her, but she knew that he didn't have any other intentions.

"You've got fine written all over you", Jungkook added.

"Calm your hormones kids", Fay tiptoed to hug the youngsters.

"I'm not a kid! I'm 25, Jungkook is the kid here."

"Don't listen to Jimin, I turned 22 a month ago."

"Did you now?", Fay cooed as she patted his head.

"Don't baby me, Fay. I'm a grown man", he grumbled.

Fay giggled, the sound softened the atmosphere as her happiness filled the room. She watched them turn the quiet house into a whole mess, but she didn't mind. She preferred this chaos over the previous silence.

"You'll always be a baby for me", Fay shrugged as she sat next to Yoongi, her hand resting on his thigh.

"Ha! In your face", Jimin snickered, sticking his tongue out.

"Same goes to you Jimin and Taehyung don't even try", she muttered as she ignored Taehyung sending her a wink.

"Damn it", he mumbled under his breath.

"Guys give up, you'll never win my princess over", Yoongi smirked, before leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Fay's lips.

The boys all groaned in unison at the display of affection.

"Get yourself a room!"

Yoongi smiled into the kiss, ignoring the complaints around him. God, did he miss the feeling of her soft lips against his.

For as long as the kiss lasted, both of them forgot their previous argument.

Suddenly the sound of shattering glass made all of them turn their heads to the kitchen.

"What happened?", Fay asked, hoping that he didn't shatter her favourite tea mug.

"I'm sorry", Namjoon walked out of the kitchen with his head hung low.

Fay ran her fingers through her curls as she stood up to check on the mess Namjoon created.

"Don't worry Namjoon, just sit there and don't move okay?", Fay patted his cheek.

"I'll help you Fay", Hoseok got up from his seat and followed Fay to the kitchen.

"I'm so useless", Namjoon sulked, his eyes not leaving his sweaty hands.

"At least you can be used as a bad example", Jin dissolved into a puddle of laughter after his joke.

"Hey Yoongi, are you and Fay good?", Taehyung leaned forward his eyes on Yoongi.

"Why? You think I'll hurt your dear Fay?", Yoongi chuckled.

"No, I'm just asking", he shrugged.

"Thanks for asking, but we're fine. Don't worry", Yoongi ruffled Taehyungs hair with a grin.

Yoongi and Fay preferred keeping their fights between them because it was their problem to solve. They didn't want to start any unnecessary drama, by complaining to anyone.

This didn't mean the fight was over. No, it was only postponed.
