5 The Space Station

Inside the space station, there were tons of spacesuits and tools for mechanics. The entry was a long hallway with many metal doors with labels on either side. Some people were waiting and they checked in each family and gave them a metal plate with there family name on it.

"Next!" The woman called. My family was next.

"Name?" she said in a monotone voice.

"Yamazaki" she checked something off her clipboard and handed a paper to another woman.

"Okay. Please walk through with the rest of your family and get your door label."

"Thanks." I walked through and sure enough, the woman was there, arm stretched waiting for me to grab the name card.

"Your section room number is 314"

"Umm, where will we go to get our pets?"

"Hallway 9, room 4. I will be on your left." then she yelled it again for everybody else in line to hear.

I turned onto hallway nine mumbling room 4, room 4 then I found it. I opened the door and walked inside to find crates open and a very happy Eric playing with a herd of puppies.

"What are you doing?" I said. He turned around looking very shocked.

"Playing with puppies!" He said while Squishing a dogs face. I guess he likes animals, after all as soon as he saw Yuki he tried to pet her.

"Haha, okay. Do you know where Yuki is?" I laughed. It was refreshing to see that geniuses were normal people too. When I said her name she started rapidly mewing.

"Okay, Yuki. I'm coming, I'm coming."

Eric got up, dusted his jumpsuit off and put all the dogs back in their crates.

"So, where are your parents?"

"They took the room label and went to check out the house." I said while stroking Yuki's soft fur.

"You didn't go with them?"

"No, Yuki is my number one priority. I decided I would get her first and then go check out the house. Also after that could you show me around and tell me about the ship?"

"Yeah, of course. I promised to do that, didn't I? Oh! I almost forgot, there are stores in this ship if you are over the age of thirteen you can apply to work at them. Everything on this ship other than you assigned jumpsuits, the stuff in your house and what you brought costs money. Once you get a job you will be given a metal wristband that will work like your bank account. You will be able to scan it when you get paid, money will be put on the card. You can also can it to pay for things. "

"Where are the shops then?"

"Actually there is a group of shops near your room now that I think of it. On your way back ask them to work there, tell them I sent you."

"Alright, I'll go now then! see you later!"

And I walked back to my new house with Yuki in my arms and a smile on my face.
