1 Chapter 1

Arizona looked at her mother who was applying lipstick as the last touch. The mirror was reflecting the beautiful body of Isabella. She has always been a confident woman that captivates anyone around her. She has beautiful straight light blonde hair that almost looks like platinum. Her beautiful emerald-like eyes that hold anything but happiness. Arizona inherited everything from her ( Except her hair is in big curls) which didn't make her mother too happy.

Isabella reached for her handbag when Arizona's little hand pinched the side of her designated expensive red dress. She shoots Arizona a glower indicating that she doesn't like her filthy hand pinching her dress. But she has no choice. " Mu... Mumma... " her voice quivered. " Pl... Please don't go... Daddy will get mad..", she couldn't stop the shake it her voice. " Do I look like I fucking care?", Isabella scoffed with her eyes turning cold. " Bu...But... ", was all Arizona managed to say before Isabella shoved her hand.

Arizona looked at her mother as she headed towards their gigantic main door. Her eyes were flooded with tears. Her lips were trembling along with her hands and legs. Because only she knows what awaits her when her dad gets to know about her mother's departure.

Just when Arizona turned to head towards her room which was the only place that she felt safe in this enormous house, her dad walked in. More like stumbled in. Robert was delirious. Guess he drank. " Where is your mother?", with the uncontrolled anger in his voice he raises his empty whiskey bottle...

..............

Arizona jolted awake. She was gasping for air very hard. She was having a panic attack not something unusual but she had to do something before she faints. She tried to breathe in slowly and counted till 5 to relax her nerves. But it didn't help... As she knew, the dreams about her past just never make her mornings easy. She pushed the cheap bed that she bought from IKEA to stand up and grabbed a bottle of water from the nightstand and rushed towards the bathroom. She instantly pulled open the door of the cabinet that is attached to the mirror above the sink and grabbed the small glass bottle that contains fluoxetine. She took two pills of fluoxetine and gulped them down her throat. Finally, she was able to relax her nerves. She looked at the reflection on the mirror that was facing her. She looks so haggard. She looks just like her mother but rather worn. It's been 3 years since she fled the hell's den that is known as her house. Her parents have no idea where she went, not that they would genuinely care. Right now she's 21 and is working at a bar with her one and only friend, Ian. She met him on the night where she successfully manages to escape the hell's den. They met at the airport. At that time she was so nervous because escaping from her parents is not an easy task, they could find her anywhere with the connections they have. Yet, she took the chance when both her parents went out to attend a function that she knows nothing of with the help of Anna her personal maid.

Ian, who was sitting beside her noticed that she was trembling although it didn't seem like she was cold since she was wearing her coat and scarf. He put his hand on her trembling hands and looked at her with concern. Guess since her whole life everyone has seen her either with sympathy, hatred or no interest that the concerned gaze broke something in her. She ended up wailing and telling him that she had to flee and that she didn't want to stay here. She didn't tell him anything more and he didn't push for more information. He reassured her and left to talk to some of the officers there and came walking towards her grinning." I've already talked and changed your name and your destination. You don't have to worry about what I did. This could buy you some time. It seems like you're heading to Senoria. Lucky you I'm from there. Opps! Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself I'm Ian William", was what he said.

She would never forget nor can she repay his kindness. She knows blindly following a stranger is not at all a good idea but at that moment she was desperate to leave and she would have risked her chance with anyone she met. Lucky her that she met a great guy like Ian who gave her a whole new life. She also soon learned that he was gay but she never judges him because if there is something she has learned in her shitty life is that she should never judge anyone. Thus, they are best friends. Yet, even he could not ease the hollowness in her. She couldn't tell him everything because it's just hard. But knowing at least someone cares for her gives her the strength to move on. She opened back the cabinet door and took a glimpse of all the medicines she own. Due to 18 years of constant torture, she has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, paranoid personality disorder and worst of all she has suicidal ideation. It seems like a lot for a person but she possesses 18 years' worth of depressing stories that she has never truly open up to anyone.
