To say I was scared was an understatement. There was no doubt everyone around be could hear my heartbeat, I could at least in my ears. As usual, harming myself helped with my nerves and anxiety, and this morning it helped immensely. Though now I was so paranoid that the wounds might bleed through or someone would grab me by my arm too hard. It happened at my old school many times.

"It'll be alright Mina." Felix tried to assure me.

"Just send us a text and we'll be there as soon as we can." Alex side hugged me. I couldn't help but wince a little from the fresh wounds on my arms as I moved them. Now I was glad I rolled both of them up in bandages, otherwise my light blue hoodie would have been stained with red marks.

"I'll remember that. Now go check out if you made the team." I gave them a small fake smile and Alex squeezed me a little before running off to a group of people wearing the school jacket.

"It's not the end of the world." I whispered to myself over and over as I walked closer to the entrance. I followed the signs to the front office where I would pickup my schedule and a map of the school. The hallway was filled with students and I had to dodge back and forth so I wouldn't touch them.

"Hello!" A happy voice beamed behind me as I walked, scaring me out of my little bubble. I turned around to see a gorgeous blonde smiling at me. "I'm Tori. You must be new here?"

"Yes." I answered with a low voice and grabbed my sleeves with my hands and squeezed them into my fist.

"Yay." She locker har arms in mine and started walking with me. "So what's your name?"

"Lumina." I introduced myself. "But my family calls me Mina."

"Mina." She paused. "I like it. But since you're my new friend, I'm going to call you Lu."

"So where'd you move from?" She asked as we followed the signs to the office.

"Uhm." I swallowed. "From Detroit."

"Oh, that's a long move."

It didn't take long until we were at the front office and we were met by a young, sophisticated girl. "Hello Tori." She greeted.

"Hey Mrs Greene."

"Who do we have here?" She asked directing her gaze to me.

"This is Lumina, she's new and my friend." Tori bounced a little as she spoke. She was a really happy spirit. "We're here to pick up her schedule, locker number and combo."

"Welcome to Ridgewood High, Lumina. Let me see." She sat down at the computer and started typing. "What's your last name, honey?"

"Parker, Lumina Parker." I answered.

Tori sucked in some air. "Are your brothers Felix and Alex Parker?" She asked with big eyes. I slowly nodded my head. Were they already known in this school? I knew they were popular back in Detroit, but not that they would be popular so soon here. "They killed it at tryouts last week."

"Here is your schedule, locker number and combo." Mrs Greene placed two papers on the high desk. "If you have any questions feel free to come here and ask."

"Thank you, Mrs Greene." I grabbed the papers and took a look at them.

"I'll see you later Mrs Greene." We walked out of the office and stopped just outside the door. I had Homeroom first, then English and Physics before lunch, Calculus, free period and PE after lunch.

"We almost have the same schedule today!" Tori exclaimed, I flinched away from her voice. "Come on, we have the same homeroom." She locker my arm and started walking down the hall, dragging me slightly behind.

We didn't walk long until she stopped and entered a combination to the lock and dumbed her bag into the locker. Apparently my locker wasn't far away and she walked beside me, 10 lockers down the hall.

When we entered the classroom, the bell rang and the teacher was already sitting by the front desk, reading To Kill A Mockingbird. The classroom was almost empty, but it filled up fast after the bell rang. Tori walked over to a desk in the middle, and patted on the table to sit next to her.

"Come on." She smiled. "Sit next to me."

Hesitantly I sat down on the chair next to her.

"Welcome to a new school year." The teacher greeted in a monotone voice. "It's junior year."
