4 Purpose

Four years had passed after becoming a member of JOULES, it had grown its influence on the most of the people of MYTHICA and other bordering factions. I was on a mission to kill a zombie outbreak in the outskirts of a town not far away from Shinjuku. The mission itself started when I killed a zombie outright with my pistol and the other zombies had come to attack me. I was in the outfit which Aryan had given me along with the helmet which he had given. The zombies had shown resistance according to their mutation stage and class. I killed every single on one after getting into 'mode X', the power which shows the 'X' mark on the weakspots of infected. I killed another zombie by shooting it in the head with pistol.

A stage 5 mutated brig class zombie had come and had push away the pistol with its arm. I took out my knife and I stabbed it in the head. Another zombie, which was stage 3 mutated and pandemic class had come and had bitten me on my neck and I kicked it in the gut, to which it went back ward and I stabbed its head. A stage 1 voiture class zombie tried to attack me using it tentacles which was attached to the head but it dodged it and had perfectly shot the "X" showing on the right upper abdominopelvic quadrant. These three were one of the strongly mutated ones while the rest were stage 5 mutated passive class zombies. I killed the remaining twenty-three zombies using my knife and sub-machine gun efficiently.

After killing the remaining, the leader of the horde had shown up, which was a stage 2 mutated deminus class zombie, It had come forward to attack me using tentacles but I dodged its attack and shot it on the head as I had reached my limit to using 'mode X' which needed atleast of five minutes to cool down. I jumped on it and stabbed its left eye and went backward as it tried to attack me using its tentacles. But it was easily dodgedable as 'deminus' class zombies had slow movements because of their strong build and long height. The zombie summoned up a ball of energy, which it forcefully put to the ground and surrounded the area in flames, making a circle in which only me and the zombie were there. It took out the minigun which was holsted to its back and pointed it towards me. The zombie was about to pull the trigger of the gun.

At that moment, my special ability had cooled down and the 'X' mark appeared on the right side of its chest. I ran and got on the mini-gun, on which I was able to balance and I took out my T-21, targeting and shooting it on the right side of its chest where the 'x' mark was there. I jumped backward doing a flip as the zombie died and fell on the ground forward. I counted the number of zombies and there were totally twenty-seven zombies in their horde which had attacked the town of 'Haru'. I took off my helmet as Aryan communicated me using the bluetooth-like device which uses radio channeling asking,"Is the mission done,Bobby?"

"Yes, perfectly done." I replied to him coldly.

"When are you returning?" Aryan asked me.

"By today night." I replied to him and switched off the channel. I was hit on the backside of my head by an aluminium baseball bat and I fell on my feet saying,"Who are you?..." as my vision got blurry and I had the regret of taking off my helmet.

"We've come to escort you, Mr.Prince." the person who had hit me said as I passed out.

Everything appeared blank in my consciousness and I shouted,"Where am I?".

"Welcome back..." a voice similar to Carine spoke.

"Is that you, Carine?" I cried out loud and continued,"Where are you?"

"I'm right here, big brother." she said while appearing in front me out of nowhere, totally dressed in white not having any change in age.

"Carine, you're alive...right?,.." I said as I went closer to her caressing her cheek and continued,"I've missed you a lot, Carine. For four years..." and hugged her as tears ran down my eyes.

"Stop crying, big brother, I haven't gone anywhere.." She said coldly while patting my head.

Then, the scenario changed. I was back in the memory of the day Carine had died, I was on the knees holding her corpse whose face was stained with blood coming out of her wounds. I panicked saying,"Carine, Carine, you're alive.. you're not gonna die,.." and more tears ran down.

"You swore that you would get me out of here alive right, big brother?" the corpse of Carine spoke in a calm tone. She looked upward and her eyes which were black had turn into red as I watched in horror while holding her. She showed movement in her arms and had start to choke me saying,"You told you would save me, but why weren't you able to....?" and I didn't resist her.

"Why didn't you save me?....Why didn't you save? Why,..Why? Why? Why?..Answer" She said while choking me in a devilish tone.

"Why didn't you save me...?" she spoke coldly as her voice changed in the strange voice which haunts me.

And I woke up with me hanging by arms to a chain and people dressed like outcasts who were armed were watching me with an evil smile. There were a totall of eleven people, five male and 6 female. A person dressed wildly like a delinquent came infront me holding an aluminium baseball bat saying,"It is time for your slaughtering prince,.." with a grin and then shouted to the outcasts,"Shall we enjoy this infected's slaughtering as a sacrifice to Mary?" and the outcasts were cheering him on.

"Kill him, Kill him, sacrifices should die..." the outcasts shouted and cheered him on. The delinquent who had come infront me was looking like a 17-year old teenager who was tan in complexion and had black hair and was 5'8" in his height. The delinquent shouted,"I shall kill this person. I, the one called Tatsukichi Konohara, shall end this one's suffering." as there was a turquoise aura glowing around his aluminium baseball bat. I saw it as a chance to use the 'Mage terminating gloves', a weapon which Dr. Tarun, the primary inventor and researcher of weapons artillery had specially designed for me. It was a pair of long knuckle gloves with a special device fitted in it to allow nullification of the mages' magic caused by the virus and allowing me to have hand-to-hand combat with mages. It also glows a crimson-red aura around my clenched fists. I broke the chain with my arms easily as on activating the 'mage terminating gloves', it causes the release of heat which made the molecules of the metal chain vibrate and melt and I stood up as the outcasts were coming to attack me.

They all came upon me with melee weapons which were glowing with aura to kill me but dodged and attacked them not killing them but rather knocking them out. Tatsukichi attacked me with his aluminium bat on my face and I was hit but I punched him back with an uppercut by my right arm in his stomach.

"Not a mage, eh?" Tatsukichi said and swung his baseball bat to hit me but I dodged it because of my instincts.

"Nope, I'm not.." I replied to him and gave him a jab in his face with my right arm followed by an uppercut. He came forward to attack me but I dodged it again, rather this time he surprisingly swiftly came behind me and hit me in the back. The remaining outcasts were running out the area which might supposedly be a factory.

"So, you've fought me to buy them time to escape,.." I said him in a calm manner

"No, the main purpose of fighting you is 'cuz I've wanted to be in a fight,." he said and continued," Damn, those cowards, running off like that." and came forward to attack me. I dodged his attack and moved back of him and took out my second pistol and used its magazine's lower end to knock him out. He passed out and I ran out of the factory in search of the four members who ran away but the factory was quite big in area with multiple buildings. I ran in search of them and I jumped through every single building insearch of them. I reached the factory's main gate after free-running and was attacked by an iron-rod on the back of my head. I turned back to see and it was the 4 four people who had escaped, two male and female. I punched the two males in the faces and hit the rest on the back of their necks to knock them out.

I contacted Aryan through my walkie-talkie bluetooth-like device and asked him,"Hey prick, when are you coming?" and continued,"Track my location, I'm not in the place I'm supposed to be. I was nearly offered a sacrifice to some shitty goddess by a group of extremists."

"Not much of a way to be kind with your seniors,." he replied casually and continued,"We'll be arriving within a few minutes."

I waited for them for more than half an hour and a fleet of three cargobobs had come. Aryan got down of the first cargobob which landed and then the remaining members who were of the 'recon squad' also landed. They all caught a sub-machine gun and were wearing masks. Hatsuki, the chief-in-command of the recon squad of JOULES came and asked me,"How many total civilians are there." over looking the four passed out people who were knocked out by me. Hatsuki, was a 21-year old man with string build, black hair, fair complexion and 5'11" in height.

"Totally, there are eleven." I replied to him and continued,"All of them are mages, their levels of infection are unknown. Five male and six female." in a normal tone.

"Thank you, sir" he said and ordered the recon squad,"Go inside and search for survivors and bring every unconscious infected person to the cargobob."

"So you've lost your mask." Aryan came infront of me and asked.

"Yes, I'm sorry.." I replied

"We've gotta get you a new mask then." He said with a smile and continued,"Get back in the cargobob, everyone is waiting for you there."

I got on the cargobob and so did Aryan and the rest after gathering the outcasts and tying them up to take them to Shinjuku. After a few hours we reached Shinjuku. I landed on the helipad of JOULES' headquarters, a long 70-Floor building or rather a compartment of buildings in the centre of the city. I got down of the helicopter and was kinda shocked to see that John was waiting for me with a bouquet dressed in a Tuxedo.

"So you've completed your mission, Bobby?" John asked me.

"I wouldn't have been alive if I failed my mission." I replied to him.

"Everyone are waiting for you in 56th floor, go eet them." He said and I walked down of the helipad to the elevator and pressed the button of the 56th floor alone. I was shocked on the reaching the 56th floor as all the members of my squad, the 'elite masters.' rushed upon me. They all got up of me Angela came in a hurry and hugged me saying,"I missed you like heck, don't ever leave me alone like this again..." in a jovial tone.

"I haven't died yet," I said to her with a smile. Angela was now 19, just a few months elder than me.

"Let's all start the party now." said the Kitamura Ayase, the leader my squad 'elite masters' and everyone toasted,"For the safe return of Akane, cheers."

"Hey, group leader you just want an excuse to drink, right?" I asked him in a normal tone while taking a seat on the couch. Kitamura was 24-your old man having strong build, tan complexion, was having blond hair and was 5'12" in height.

"Don't care much about that, the immune one,….The squad leader himself is addicted to drinking." said Joe Patrick, the second-in-command and the ace of my squad. Joe was a 21-year old man, tan in complexion, was having brown hair and was 5'11" in height.

Kitamura got too drunk and was acting too sober and had passed out on me. Angela said,"Knock it off for a while you guys. You guys are just causing Akane trouble." in an embarassed tone.

"By Akane, do you mean your boyfriend?" Joe said in a teasing tone and Angela was irritated and she gave off a very strong murderous intent while making a clenched fist due to which Joe was silenced. It was normal for us to get branded as a couple as she was the one who saved me and trained me in all sorts of combat, parkour moves and free-running techniques. "Go fresh up Akane,.." She said and everyone looked at her with a smirk on their face but she glared at them due to which they were immediately silenced. I went to room on the 15th floor and took a bath. I thought about the nightmare in which Carine choked me asking why I didn't save her. I fawned upon it for a while but soon gave up thinking about it got out of the bath. I washed my hair and my body with the towel which was kept for me and wore the dress which Angela had kept for me before my return.

I sat on the bed in my room and Angela came in saying,"Hey, Akane. You've been out of the city for nearly two months, and I said,"So?"

"Since you've been out of the city for a while. Do you want to do some shopping?" she asked me.

"I don't need anything in particular." I replied to her and continued,"Only ammo for my T-21 and some pistols along with a butterfly knife." enthusiatically.

"So shopping only means purchasing weapons and roaming around ammo-nations for you." she said and sighed.

"Well taking me is your excuse shopping, right?" I said to her with a smirk and she immediately punched me in the stomach saying,"I was only thinking about you for the moment for now. We are going out for shopping, now and itself. I don't care even if I have to pay for your necessaries and clothes." and she took me out to the city mall to buy necessaries for me. We bought all my required things, like toothpaste, clothes and casual footwear. We all enjoyed a few activites like, going to the arcade, and eating at a cafe.

The day passed with shopping or more, it was like a date. We returned to the headquarters at 9:24 pm and were extremely tired. I went back to my room and dressed in a navy t-shirt and a dark blue short which I had bought and laid down on the bed. Angela entered the room saying,"Akane do you have any problem sleeping in this room? If you have any problem you can say. I can keep you company.", she had worn a plain white t-shirt with skin-tight green-coloured shorts.

"No I've got no problem in this room." I said to her continued,"It'd be creepy if you were keeping me company."

"What is the problem with me, Akane?"

"There is problem with you. Its just that we are not kids and we are not of the same gender. You are perfect Angela"

"So that is what it is, Akane."

Angela sighed and I said to her,"Sometimes, we've gotta be serious about gend..." and she kissed me before I could complete my sentence. She said,"I love you, Akane. Don't ever leave me." and kissed me again to which I was totally red. Angela laid me down on my bed as she was kissing me and turned off the light.
