Broken Bones

"I think we're all born with a darkness inside of us. But it's not the darkness that's wrong or evil as most would think. I'm not even sure you could call it good either. It just exists as you exist, always with you your whole life from the moment you are born to the very last second you die. It's like a shadow never to part with you even in death I do believe. I think whatever makes it good or bad depends on our actions, for that darkness is a part of us that makes us whole. Or what tears us apart in the end. There's this place between consciousness and dreaming. You could call it a void, but it's not exactly empty. It's more like an echo full of echoes, a collection of memories, even nightmares. I don't know how else to describe it, but the longer I am here the less I feel like I'm dreaming. And the longer I am here, the more I can feel that shadow becoming more than just a thought inside my head."
