3 Ch. 3 That's a lot of dust.

He watched as she so desperately flailed around this morning. Smiling to himself but remaining silent he watched her. And watched, and watched. And soon she was gone. He had the house to himself and he thought of chasing after her and observing her for today but he decided against it. After all he had work to do.

He carefully took out his mystical pouch from his pocket and unlaced it. A puff of golden dust instantly released and covered his face and hair already. Opening his eyes after flinching, he looked in the vanity mirror and saw that the golden flecks had already coated his face and hair. His eyelids lowered in annoyance, he shook his hair displacing most of the dust into the air. He easily controlled the dust to fall into the places he wanted. He didn't have much dust today but he would get more later. For now he needed to coat the main areas she would touch the most. He limited himself to one item per room only choosing to include her computer as well after much deliberation. He choose his items carefully and thoughtfully. Her pillow (of course that was obvious), her sink knob, the fridge handle, the front door handle, the banister of the stairs, and lastly the remote to the television in the living room. He smiled to himself as he finished coating the last item, a job well done. The items he chose glowed back at him joyfully.

He walked back upstairs to grab his pouch before he left and caught sight of his reflection. Normally he wouldn't have cared to look but he could sense something was wrong. Glancing up he saw his golden eyes stare back at him like usual, but to his dismay the rest of him was golden too!

Shocked, his mouth dropped open making a big 'O' shape. He closed it quickly and began to brush himself off. He had forgotten what he had been told before coming to this city, he had been given this job for this exact reason. No one had wanted the job in the city that somehow made your dust stick to you. He groaned at his stupidity as he stared desperately at his golden reflection.

"How am I possibly going to get this all off?"
