PROLOGUE

Castor Ennad is a star.

Well, to be exact, he was about to become the brightest star.

Until...he died.

And was reborn.

I know being reborn is suppose to be a good thing for Castor---for him to once again become a star. But his rebirth isn't what you could have imagined it to be.

No. It was horrible.

Actually, every life that he lived after he had died had been terrible, horrible, and torturous.

Be it beaten to death, poisoned to death, abandoned by his family, betrayed by his loved ones, killed in a war, dismembered, laughed at and being regarded, and any and all kinds of terrible things a person wouldn't want to ever experience has happened to him throughout his numerous lives.

Sometimes only one of those things would happen in one life, but there are times where multiple of those situations would happen in one life.

However, to Castor, it was never important how he suffered through life. It never was nor will be. No matter how much he struggles, he never complains. He might sometimes when things get really tough, but he never gives up. Because to him, what matters the most, from his first life to his future last, is his dream.

A dream that was never fulfilled, never achieved, not even in one of his many lives.

For reasons unknown, every new life he lives through had ended terribly---not that he knew.

Yes, he actually didn't know about his every life after the first. Why, you ask? It's because every time he had been reborn, he didn't have his past life's memories.

So how did he know?

Simple. Because of his last nth life.

In his latest new life, Castor had miraculously remembered every one of his past life, all the way to the first.

He had hit his head one day, causing him to pass out for a week, and during that week, he had remembered all that had happened to him. All that he experienced. All the previous him.

Perhaps God had pitied him. Pitied his sufferings that accumulated so high that it could reach the heavens and beyond, so voluminous that it could stretch all the way around the galaxy many times.

For this life it will be different. He will not die a miserable death, nor not given the chance to achieve the thing he had yearned for the most.

This life. In this life, Castor is determined to become the brightest star. To not succumb to despair. To not lose himself. To not be wretched apart by the same tortuous feeling he had many a times in his previous lives.

To not die miserably. To not die just a step away from achieving his dreams.

Castor Ennad may be a lot of things. He may be a trickster, a liar, and a horrible person, but that's what the circumstances in his past lives have forced him to be. He was not like that originally, and no matter how much he acts like that, he has never wanted to be like that. Nor will he ever embrace himself to be such a person.

He is not one to give up so easily no matter how hard his life gets. That also means that he will never give in to his evil side.

So this life, he must give his all!!
