Iris hated him. She cursed him repeatedly as she endured another training with the Black Knights. She hadn't seen a glimpse of Killian for over six months now, longer than the last time he disappeared without notice. Perhaps he was leaving her to her own devices, to make her realize how hard it would be to be a darkling in this world.

It had taken her ten days to find and reach the camp of his Black Knights, and from then on, she had to do everything they were doing without question, aside from the frequent brawling with betting involved. She had seen familiar faces amongst them, realizing that some of them were Lord Kieran's strongest frost guards.

This made it easy for Iris to get along with them. Though female demons were considerably fewer within the group, Iris saw that they weren't weaker than their male counterparts. No wonder Killian was certain she would learn here while training.
