20 #20: War and Schemes

****Jia Li's P. O. V***

After Huang Lei leaving for war with Tang state, my life became further boring. I had to appear for some parties of sort. It had only been a week since war was declared.

But the capital saw a flood of people who escaped the war zone for some job over here, but of course due to chances of them being a spy, there was no entry permitted.

"Milady, Do you want something? ", Guan asked me.

" Hmm, I would like to read my novels, but I already read all of them, My favorite author didn't release a new book yet, he only sent an announcement saying he may not be able to write for at least two years!!T^T

"Milady, If you can, Would you answer my query about the novel you lent me. ", Guan asked.

" Yes.. Surely. ", I said.

"Well, I think there was no proper romance.. ", He said.

" Why do you think so? ", I asked, slightly afraid that if Guan hated these books for them being bl, I would lose a bl novel friend.

" It feels as though the sparks between the two leads was fake. A made up thing. ", He said.

" Made up? ", I asked.

" Like,... It's like the author doesn't know about love. He never experienced it... I don't know much, but I felt that. ", He said.

" Oh.. your only query was that? you were ok with the male leads love? ", I asked.

" What's wrong in them loving each other? ", He asked.

" No, I meant many look at it with disgust. ", I said.

" I don't mind, Milady. ", He said.

" Why? ", I asked.

" I don't know, I think if I were to meet a good guy, I would have loved him, at the same time, if I met a great girl, I would have felt the same. ", He said.

" Ohh... so you're a bi. ", I said.

" BI? ", He asked.

" It's a novel term, it's a group of people who can fall in love with either male or female. ", I said.

" It's such a strange term, bi.. Maybe I am. ", He said.

" Milady! You have to see this!! ", Xin Xin came running.

" What happened?! ", I asked, worried that something happened to Huang Lei.

" Your favorite author released a new bl novel!! ", She said, with a book in her hands huffing and puffing.

" Really? But he told he wouldn't write more. ", I looked over at the book.

I immediately excused all of my servants including Guan and Xin Xin, It was a handwritten copy!!! That too the style was so perfect. So, my favorite author was a Calligraphist.

I ran my hands over the lines he wrote. The first line of the book was, when the one who caught your eyes doesn't feel the same, it just hurts so much.

Oh My god!!! It was an emotional novel. I kept on reading, Now I got what Guan meant, this novel was top tier, this made all the others look fake. The whole meaning of fake sparks was clear to me.

This novel felt as though it was a true story. I got so hooked that I read the whole book in four hours. It was awesome!! It was about a noble, who fell in love with a male prostitute. It was a time when the noble was drunk, he went to the prostitute house and was under care of this guy, but he didn't bat an eye to this handsome noble.

The prostitute was dreamy eyed and loyal but to some other noble. The noble male lead tried to court this prostitute, but he was turned down.

In the end, he couldn't help but go on search for the prostitute, sadly, he was no where to be found.

It was a rough sketch, but the way it was written hurt my heart as though I was the one. Guan immediately called me for dinner.

I gave him the book, he read it in three hours!! and gave it back to me. He too felt the same. It was way awesome than the others.

But one thing tore our hearts, In the end of the book, Qing yuan signed it and said he wouldn't write novels anymore.

We both felt bad and slept. Like this, two weeks passed by, and there was news that the General was successful and won the wars with minimum casualties.

But Xiao Li 's servant gave a hand written letter of Huang Lei which said how he missed talking with me and seeing my crazy hairdos. Hmph!! I have cool hairdos!!

He even sent a red feather Quill, and asked me to write a letter back.

I wrote back, but I too missed him, the letter of his, was all him teasing me, but I wanted to see him to be sure. It was my birthday in three days, I will turn 17, I should celebrate with him.

I immediately informed Guan and brother in law about this plan but they both just said no.. I even told I would just go the border and come back.

somehow I managed to convince them, but they told that I must wear a men's dress only as a woman's dress would just be a hindrance in walking and would catch the eye of people.

Guan was to accompany me the whole time.

I agreed and we finally set off to the North West.

It was a tiring journey, but soon we could see our camps at the border. I ran fast to the military tents and saw... all men were with prostitutes??

What the hell?? It was like a whole new place, There were like a 100 women?! Where the hell is Huang?? Is he cheating on his young wife?? I went on stampeding to the Generals tent, Guan was surrounded by women due to his charm, I saw inside. General was breathing heavily and a woman was approaching him, he took out his sword and demanded her identity. She told,..

'Jia Li.'

What??? Jia li??? Huang looked at her and his eyes were glassy same as when I touched him, he looked at the ground, saying.

"No, Jia Li doesn't wear blue. ", He said.

" I wore it in a hurry. ", The girl said as she came nearer to him.

I wanted to kill her on the spot but at the same time I wanted to know will he be able to know who is me and who is not..?

" Shut up, and get lost before I break your neck. ", He said.

" I m Jia Li, Huang Lei! ", She said. "I know the aphrodisiac hurts you, that's why I came here. I am always here. ", She continued.

What if I hadn't come here? Would he just go on with this? or not give in? I wanted to know, but now, I am here so... It's upto me to decide.

I chose to kill that b*tch. I immediately went in and pulled her by her hair and threw her on Guan.

She tried coming back but Guan restrained her.

I came out and saw all of the men were intoxicated, I discovered that the aphrodisiac was kept in the water, and Xiao Li was missing.

I went near Huang. He was totally crazy looking and.. hot... ≧﹏≦

He was dressed in his armor which added to the charm. He stared into my eyes and smiled,

"Jia Li, or should I call you Jian ", He said getting up

He looked taller, more handsome. He came closer and lifted my chin and said,

" Your hair is messy again", He said kissing my forehead.

"I am dreaming right? Of course I am, you wouldn't come here. ", He said looking sad. But then he carried me up and said, " If it's a dream I can do whatever.. ", He said carrying me to his bed.

No!! Not here.. He kept me down and I blushed so hard.

He slowly came closed his breath mixing with mine and his hands slowly came towards me and... removed my hairdo.. ??

He took out my hairdo and started combing through it by a jade comb. He started smiling as he combed through. He smelled my hair and said,

It doesn't smell like jasmine. I thought all women scented their hairs.. Jia li doesn't? oh... it's a dream so... I can't smell.", He said putting a pretty hair clip and a beautiful style.

He slept by hugging me and I too slept. I dont know why, but I was disappointed....
