Why are you here?

Zarek frowned. He hated that Lucien was right about the Valorians. This was supposed to be his chance to prove to everyone that he was better than Lucien, that he was more deserving of the throne, not Lucien. Now Lucien was going to take all the credit and accolades for winning the war against Valoria.

This would put Lucien on the good side of the councilmen. Zarek did not want that. He was going to find a way to end the war on his own terms and take credit for it.

"Let me think about this first," Zarek said, standing to his feet.

Lucien's lips dropped open. "What do you mean by 'think about it'? What is there to think about? We have to make a move now. There isn't much time!"

"If I remember correctly, I am the commander of this army," Zarek spread out his arms. "I will approve any plan before it is set into action!"
