18 Our own marriage is different

Raymond stepped out of the bathroom, he dried his body with a towel and reached up to dry his hair when his door was thrown open. He used the towel to cover his lower part immediately as he glared at the door to see the intruder.

Felicity walked over to the bed and sat down not noticing the murderous way the man in the room was looking at her, "good morning little Ray" she beamed but there was a tinge of shyness to her normal cheerful ways which Raymond didn't fail to notice and he knew the reason but he is just not in the mood to think about that now.

"Felicity, what are you doing here?" He asked as he tried to wrap the towel round his waist without revealing his nakedness to her. The reason he is fighting against that? He had no idea. He has always been a man who appreciates his body and don't fail to use any opportunity to show off in front of a woman, so he can't understand why he felt the urge of covering himself in her presence.

"Am I no longer welcomed in your room? Is it because of last night?" She looked down at her fingers as she asked that.

Raymond groaned softly, "please can you not talk about last night? Last night was never meant to happen, do you understand?" Even though he said that, his mind still brought up the image of her naked body in his memories and he took a sharp intake of breath.

"I understand. You said I should not tell anyone but there is no one here, that's why I talked about it" Felicity tried to defend herself.

"Well that's the thing, even if it's just the two of us, don't bring it up, okay?" He asked and she nodded before he sighed "and please, the next time before you walk into my room, make sure you knocked."

"Why? I never knocks before I enter aunty Katy's room" she looked him directly in the eyes.

Raymond was forced to look away, he just can't understand why he keeps on loosing whenever it comes to her, "because you don't know when I will be dressing. Like now, I'm about to dress."

"I use to watch aunt Katy dress. She never pushes me away and when I am dressing, aunty Katy use to be there too."

"Well, I'm not aunty Katy. I am a man, aunty Katy is woman just like you. Both of you can stay in the same room and dress but both of us? No" he shook his head to support his point.

Felicity frowned, "I don't understand, why can't we stay in the same room?"

"Because I am a man and you are a woman!"

"I already know that but why can't we dress together? Is something wrong with it?"

"Yes! Everything is wrong with it. You can only dress together with a man if he is your lover or your husband."

"But you are my husband" she looked at him to explain further.

For once in his life, Raymond was short of words, he looked at Felicity with his mouth slightly open as he searched for words in his mind, "em" he licked his lips "well, our own marriage is different. Didn't aunty Katy tell you?"

Felicity thought on what her aunty told her and sighed, "actually, aunty Katy did say you married me because she did something wrong. What is that exactly?"

"I will tell you some other time. Right now, I need to prepare for work."

"Oh that reminds me, Morris is here, he is waiting for you downstairs and there is another woman in the kitchen, she is making breakfast, she said her name is..."

"Gloria" Raymond finished "I know. Why will Morris come and won't alert me that he is around?"

"Oh that's my fault actually. I told him I will come call you, it's why I came in here though" she tapped her lips with her index finger as she recalled her main purpose of coming into his room.

Raymond pinched the bridge of his nose frustratedly, "fine, you have passed the message, now go wait for me downstairs."

"Okay" Felicity stood up and strode towards the door before turning to look at him "nanny Mercy will be coming today won't she? I have grown used to seeing her everyday."

"Don't worry, I will send her the address later."

"Thank you little Ray" she smiled and left the room.

Raymond sighed once more, guess he can't be able to stop her from calling him little Ray. It's all grandma's fault, he accused in his mind before untying his towel and starting to dress.

Raymond went downstairs later to see Felicity already seated on the dinning. She waved at him and beckoned him to join her which he has no choice to agree, after all, he was going there.

"Good morning sir" Morris greeted and Raymond nodded as a response.

A middle aged woman with thick long black hair walked out of the kitchen carrying a bowl of food, she placed it on the dinning table "good morning Mr. Baldwin."

"Good morning Gloria, I believe you have met the new madam of the house?"

"Yes Mr. Baldwin, I have. In fact, she is a lovely woman" she looked at Felicity who smiled to her.

Raymond saw the friendly gesture between the two of them, "indeed" he muttered and started eating.
