Anyway, a year have passed since the fight against Naoya, and the prick have been challenging him every single time he visits, so he resorted in taking Maki somwhere, like a park. Sometimes, they go too far as to go in Akihabara just to introduce some interesting Manga to Maki.

However, he refused to accept one of the Divine Dogs since he knows that Fushiguro Megumi will need them in the future.

He, instead, made a ceremony and summoned himself a dog wit human body. It was none other than Inugami in both Japan's myth and from a game called Onmyouji Arena. A dog-like humanoid shikigami who can talk and interact, he is wise and is realy a good shikigami.

Throughout his experience as a first year, he learned a lot, especally the Black Curtain. From it, he experimented it to the point that he was officially promoted from grade 4 to grade 3.

Although he was very strong, Nanami can't promote Ryū to grade 1 since he's the one who recommended him to the school to avoid bias in the school. Even if Ryū is strong enough to be considered at special-grade at that time, as a first year, they were only sent to exorcise grade 4 and semi-grade 3 curses.

And since he is not the vessel of Sukuna or a Cursed Child to be sent into suicide missions. This lineup wasn't like the game's lineup and team combo, and they are real people. Although, all of them have different rarity in the card game, their abilties can help him in different cirumstances. Most of the time, Inugami is summoned because of his decent overall capabilities as a shikigami, and also to bonk some horny teens.

During the mid-year of his second-year, he managed to summon Mannendake at his beck and call. As most of his shikigami looked like humans, he summons them if they want to look around or evn look at their game conterpart. The only non-human-looking shikigami tht is allowed to be summoned for almost all the time is Inugami since he's a loyal samurai and has sharp perception as one.

When the time has come for Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, he dominated the team event on the first day with Mannendake, and he dominated the individual battles alone with his Water Breath style. In other words, he made the Kyōtō looked like an insect.

Then, he was also overseas. Where? He was sent to Athens in Greece. During his stay there, he exorcised a lot of curses while also retrieving the 6th finger of the Tōkyō Jujutsu Tech in order to hide it until they are sure that they can destroy Ryōmen Sukuna's fingers completely.

After retrieving the finger, he was promoted from grade 3 to grade 1 after he returned with his reports presented. No, he didn't fight a special-grade curse, but even if he did, they won't just promote you just because you said so. You needed someone to make a request to promote you.
