8 Pointblank

This new quest was something that he could stand for. It gave him the incentive to go after cultivators. Though the only problem was, what if he tried indoctrinating higher level cultivators? It was likely he would run into ones which were of higher caliber if they were moving around in groups.

Jack could recall the two other cultivators which had been with Yoko. His eyes closed partially as he thought about them. He killed the two others without thinking. Was the guilt of killing others suddenly cropping up against him? No, this wasn't guilt. He killed because he sought to save numerous others.

Guilty for taking away someone else's life to save others? No, his mind was righteous. He had believed he was right and would continue to do what he thought was right. While he definitely felt the regret of not being able to obtain them, he slowly forgot the feeling.

Glancing to the side, his eyes narrowed at the Yoko who was now standing beside him. It seems she had sudden crept up beside him without making a noise. "Stealthy," Jack scoffed a bit as he reached over and moved some of her hair behind her ear.

Yoko's expression was blank, as he had been before. Her eyes simply watched him as if analyzing every piece of information. He hadn't been surprised about her approach. He had no reason to. It seemed he suddenly became trusting of her?

Her eyes moved to look at the hand which was now resting on her shoulder before looking forward towards the Mountains. Just looking in that direction she began releasing a sporadic amount of killing intent.

Jack seemed unaffected by this intent. It wasn't focused on him, even though he could clearly sense it coming off of her. It was unstable and irregular. She had conflicts going on and he could see it.

Taking his sheathed molecular knife off his belt and handed it to her. Blinking a few times she stared at it for a few seconds before placing it on her own belt. He then removed and fastened his holstered pistol upon her opposite hip.

Arching a brow slightly, she was somewhat surprised about the whole ordeal of arming her. Though the sudden trust which formed between them, most have been from something he had done.

"Just who are you, Sir?" She addressed him as Sir again. She seemed to be annoyed at that fact. This sudden respect wasn't something she was used to.

"Right… I only got your name." Jack laughed to himself before tilting his head to the side slightly. "Jack. Jack Strider." He introduced himself, whether or not he had already done so before he didn't care.

That's when he released that there was a presence coming towards them. He saw something on his map. A white dot was making its way to their location. Though it was larger than the nearby villagers which were all blue dots.

The dot was probably white due to being neutral? Glancing up towards the being who was standing on a sword, staring down at them. He could definitely feel the pressure emanating from the person.

Yoko went to draw the pistol, but he instinctively reached over and grabbed her wrist before she could even pull it out of the holster. Stopping her from provoking the being who was merely staring down at them.

"This elder demands to know who is in charge!" It was an older woman's voice booming from the figure on the sword. Likely someone who was of higher stature than the cultivator standing beside him. Maybe it was an Elder from another Sect?

Slowly lowering from the sky, a older woman in pale blue robes stood upon the ground after sheathing her sword.

The woman squinted as she stared at the two oddly dressed people compared to the other villagers. Then her eyes glanced over at the tent which was behind them. "hmmm…"

Jack made a slight wave with two fingers, indicating himself as the leader.

"Where did that flying block disappear to?" Was the first question which shot out of the woman's mouth. She could clearly see the imprint on the ground in which it had landed.

"It left," he pointed off toward the west coast.

"…" The old woman wasn't buying it. Her eyes moved towards the roman numerals on the shirts of the two people before her. They had strange militant vibes coming off of them. Both of them were cultivators.

She felt that the man was disrespectful for not addressing her as an elder, or senior. Even though he was a lesser cultivator, he seemed much more powerful than he should be.

Then she noticed some little kids running around with a soiled red robe in their hands. "Red Sea Sect?" She scoffed slightly at the sight of the ruined robe being played with as if it was just like any other blanket or tug of war rope.

Placing his body in direct sight of the woman as she was watching the kids, she raised a brow. "Refugees?" she hit the nail on the head.

"Quite possibly," Jack stated with a face without expression, not giving a straight answer. He started picking up more white circles off in the distance on his map.

Scanning them with her eyes, the old lady's eyes rested upon the gun which Yoko was gripping. It seemed the man was stopping her from taking it out? Her eyes became greedy as she started to make some assumptions of what it was.

Was it a weapon? A wand? A medium for magic? Something that could enhance skills? It was strangely metallic. Was it a sword trinket?

Jack could clearly interpret that expression she was forming upon her face. It was like a child seeing a new shiny toy. A man who found a thousand dollars on the side of the road.

It didn't take long for her to notice the rifle hanging on his shoulder either. Now that she was thinking about it, was it their equipment which made them seem stronger than their cultivation levels? The Elder remained in thought, eying the weapons.

"Could you quit staring, I'm not into old ladies," Jack said as he rubbed a finger under his nose as pretended to be flattered by her stares.

"Wha… This Elder has no infatuation with a puny insignificant insect…" The old woman's facial expression twisted a bit and became angrily red.

Letting go of Yoko's wrist, Jack watched as she quickly drew the pistol and pulled the trigger at point blank range. The beam which had left the pistol disrupted the woman's circulation of Qi and passed through her body.

The old woman blinked a few times as she felt a burning sensation moving throughout her body. "…?" Her eyes moved down towards the gun, a sense of dread coming over her as she felt her Qi disappearing. Swallowing shallowly, she found herself falling to her knees before collapsing face first to the ground.

Completely limp the body began to dissolve into ash as if the biological structure of the woman had been so disrupted a chain reaction occurred to cause the body to combust.

[ Yoko Zhao has Leveled Up and Ranked up. ]

Yoko's eyes were wide as she slowly looked down at the weapon she had been equipped with. "How did this little thing kill a Sect Elder?" her voice was shaken. She had only wanted to injure the Elder in order to show them that they weren't insignificant insects. Instead, they had upright killed the woman.

Letting out a sigh, Jack looked over at Yoko as he would guide her hand to holster the pistol.

The white dots surrounding them seemed to have stopped moving and were remaining where they were. It was as if they were watching them and suddenly saw the death of a Elder. He was rather surprised they didn't all turn red assuming they were on the same side.

However seeing that he was a level up, and even was a rank nine now. He chuckled a little, he didn't even have to kill others on his own. He could continue to level himself by having his underlings kill for him. However he had a feeling he wasn't getting all the cultivation and EP he would have gotten if he killed on his own.
