3 Clothes

Waking up the next morning light poured through the sheets. Looking outside kids were playing and laughing. Parents looked at their children with love. Crawling out if my home a man saw me and smiled. Bowing my head, I walked away. 'He must be new here.' Some parents saw me and hid their children behind their backs. Seeing that some of the once joyful parents protected their children out of fear the kind man seemed confused. Walking to the parents, he asked in a voice loud enough for me to hear, "Why do you hide your children from that girl?" Sneering, the mother growled out, "She is a cursed child." Frowning he looked at me, meeting his gaze of curiosity and sadness, I walked away. Before I could even take another step, the man was next to me. 'The hell?'

Yelping, he lifted me over his shoulder while saying, "If she is cursed I might as well take her with me." Hearing my yelp, my kitty ran over and started to attack his legs. Grabbing my kitty by the scruff he glared. Snatching my cat before he does anything else I glared at the man holding me. "Put me down now." Shaking his head no he started to walk. Holding my kitty close to my chest, he began to carry me out of the estate. Unable to stop I started looking around. I have never been outside of the estate in this body neither has the previous owner. Seeing everything was a surprise there were rows upon rows of shopping stalls the place was so cramped I doubt that I would have been able to navigate around this place.

Walking into a clothes store, the man looked at me and said, "My name is Marcus find yourself some clothes you like then come to me I will purchase them for you." Pausing he seemed to be waiting for me to speak, "I'm Abigail and is there a cost limit for what I get?" Shaking his head no I grabbed a few articles of clothing, winter clothes, summer clothes, and spring clothes. Finished I walked up to Marcus and held out the clothes to him.

With a bag full of money he bought the clothes, "Now get out of those old rags." saying that he held out the black and white winter outfit I chose. Shaking my head, I grabbed the coat and slipped it on. Pulling the hood up I covered my eyes, looking ahead I spoke calmly. "I won't put on the outfit just yet; I would like to be clean before I put on something so nice and clean. Besides, I would feel gross if I wore something clean while being dirty." Seeming surprised he nodded his head, "Follow me." So that is what I did, following him I almost lost him a few times in the crowd. After a while, I gave up and held onto the side of his coat. 'As long as my life isn't as awful as it is there I am fine.'
