4 Breaking the Marriage Law [3]

Yin Yue sighed and put the last paper on her desk. It was far too late for her to even consider going back home, she could just take a nap at the publishing house, as it was almost 3am. In four hours she would be getting ready for work again, so she didn't want to waste time.

She was only a human. She had to sleep.

Curse that damn Zhi Ruo! Why did she hate her so much anyway?! Were the rumors really true? Had Zhi Ruo really fancied Li Qiang?

Yin Yue huffed and rubbed her temples. She could give her that guy in a second. She would be free and happy. And she wouldn't be bullied by her co-workers anymore.

Her phone suddenly vibrated and Yin Yue looked at the screen startled. Who was messaging her at this ridiculous hour?

- I'm waiting at the front entrance. Hurry up, I want to sleep. - LQ.

Yin Yue's eyes widened and she shivered. Was he really waiting for her in the middle of the night? Was he pretending to be sweet, or maybe he was still simply a stalker? She didn't have time to think about it. Li Qiang came for her and as much as she hated him, she wasn't so ill-mannered to just stood him up.

She quickly gathered her stuff and ran down, just to see him at the entrance next to his black BMW. He was leaning against it, still dressed in a dark blue suit. His white shirt was unbuttoned, and he'd loosened the black tie. Li Qiang observed her as if she was some kind of prey, causing her to inhale sharply.

How could he be so handsome? She felt goosebumps covering her whole body, while her mind screamed at her for having idiotic thoughts. Looks wasn't everything. Even, if he looked simply hot.

"Why are you here?" Yin Yue asked, trying to sound composed.

"Is it wrong for a husband to wait for his wife?" he answered with a question, and Yin Yue blushed, momentarily averting her eyes from his gaze.

"Don't pretend to care," she muttered, fidgeting nervously.

"Get in. It's already late," he ordered in a cold voice, suddenly sounding annoyed and when Yin Yue looked at his face, she discovered that he looked angry. Did her words cause this?

Well, he could be acting like a perfect husband now, but he clearly didn't care enough when he took her virginity on their wedding night. She was still repulsed by his actions and the fact that he clearly wasn't trying to do anything more than kissing to her after that time, worried her.

Not because she wanted Li Qiang to do all these things again. But was it really normal? Did men lose interest in women after they've claimed them? Was this word of riches so messed up that there was no place for love?

Li Qiang sighed as he watched the woman on the passenger seat. Yin Yue was deep in thoughts, and he only wanted to show her that he cared. He drove them home, hoping to at least talk normally.

"Stay at home tomorrow," Li Qiang suddenly said, turning left and Yin Yue looked at him like he was mad.

"I have work, Li Qiang!" she protested immediately.

"And why did you have to stay so late?" Li Qiang asked, even though he already knew the answer. Their marriage could be viewed as a nuisance for some people in her company and there was no way he was going to leave it this way.

"My chef editor hates me, because I'm married to you. Be kind enough not to meddle into my affairs," Yin Yue said, getting more and more annoyed.

"I'll deal with it," Li Qiang replied shortly, making her count to ten to calm herself.

"You will not, I forbid you! Please, I beg you, don't make my life any more miserable than it already is!"

Hearing her words, Li Qiang grabbed the wheel harder and Yin Yue knew he wasn't angry anymore. Instead, he was furious and... disappointed?

Yin Yue gritted her teeth. How could she feel sympathy towards the man who ruined her family business only to make her parents force her to marry him? He was the lowest of the low and there was no option that she would ever forgive him.
