The Kidnapping

23

The cold wind bit hard at his face and hands. Hiding in the shadows, Decker crouched, waiting. He made a mental note to ask for more money. This job wasn't as easy as he had been told. Of course, a cold winter front just had to hit when he was stuck outside waiting for his target.

He heard footsteps and readied himself, watching a man walk around the corner, and it was him! Decker charged at the man, who turned, leaping out of the way. Decker lunged at Castor with a hypodermic needle. Castor ducked and spun out of the way. Decker slipped on the slushy snow just as Castor landed a punch on Decker's jaw.

Surprised that he could not just land a punch but avoid getting hit or stabbed with that needle, Castor ran and ran fast.

Decker stood there looking around for Castor, but he was gone. Feeling his jaw throbbing, Decker cursed, noticing footprints in the slushy snow. The kid had gotten away.
